derah...hmm..i have given up hope. Apparently my cervix is effaced, anterior and soft as soft can be. Apparently, baby doesn't know. Thought maybe the full moon and everything... have resigned myself to another two weeks.

wow, congrats to even more arrivals!

misty - the first 2 times they attempted to do a sweep on me wrern't uncomfortable at all as my cervix was closed and they couldn't do it! 3rd attempt, I was about 2cms and i have to say it was uncomfortable as hell, then a further sweep had me climbing the walls! I think it depends how ready your cervix is really on how it affects you, but i wish i hadn't had one now.

c4it · 21/03/2008 21:09

Hi Misty, no my due date is today, but they are anticipating that this is a big baby and DD1 had mild shoulder dystocia and I'm sticking to my guns for a home birth, so consultant yesterday offered sweep early.

Unlike FN41 I didn't find it too bad - not comfortable, but bearable - comparable with first ever smear tests.

littleducks · 21/03/2008 21:20

c4it are you me somehow????
not only did we share bday yesterday but my original from lmp dates edd was today too!

but from scan am not officially due til wed now....and am fed up.

i ran out of spatone, so took two iron tablets and have had terrible tummy pains from constipation, all i want is some blooming labouring tummy pains. Had placed great faith in the full moon, went and gazed at it hoping it would magically shift baby but no sign of that. Also terrible heart burn and acid reflux.

Congrats to new arrivals and apologies for whinging!

c4it · 21/03/2008 21:50

Littleducks - LOL. Wouldn't it be funny if LOs arrived on same day too?

mistyamica · 21/03/2008 23:05

hi fitnforty did you have all those sweeps for one baby!? I hope my little one comes out before I have to have the sweep! You were brave!

Hi derah, yeah I brought a fresh pineapple earlier and I now feel a bit sick from eating so much of it! I had to go for a long walk to help digest it! My tongue feels abit soar now! lol! I don't think I could look at another piece of pineapple let alone eat another 6 of them! haha!

I think I am going to look at some other ways of getting the labour going! Anyone else got anymore ideas?!

mistyamica · 21/03/2008 23:08

Oh yeah, good luck c4it i hope you don't have to wait much longer! I wonder if we will both have our babies at the same time?

The way my one is going I don't think I will be giving birth anytime soon!

Good luck!

Prisci · 22/03/2008 00:39

Mistyamica, you can apparently also try Raspberry Leaf tea, more and more sex...(but I think you have tried that), spicy food...tried all and still waiting but it apparently does work on some people.

mistyamica · 22/03/2008 10:34

Prisci, how far overdue are you? I can't believe that after trying all that you are still waiting!!

I was up late last night vacuuming and doing the washing, and then this morning I got up really early as I can't sleep then I went for a long walk!

I still haven't had a show or anything but I am really restless! Are you feeling the same?

Prisci · 22/03/2008 11:39

Hi Mistyamica, I am not overdue yet, due on Tuesday, but everone who has given birth in my family in the past generation seems to have delivered 10 days early...but not me ....
Feeling the same in terms of having an energy burst, this morning push DP out of bed so we could go to the market before 9am in order to get strawberry's and some organic products etc....it is not like me at all...usually manage to get up not before 10-11am on Weekends...

Try not to get too tired, as you probably will need the energy later

derah · 22/03/2008 13:01

Oh this is so very funny!!!

mistyamica · 22/03/2008 14:32

Ahh that was so sweet! If only child birth was as simple as that!

I'm a day overdue now and still no signs!!! ahhh!!I wish I could wave a magic wand and make this birth happen now! lol!

tori32 · 22/03/2008 20:40

Derah that was very funny!
Congratulations spugs
I have now tried raspberry capsules (about 8 today) and nothing, curry last night, tins of pineapples, walking, nipple stimulation........I am heading to the last resort!

turtle23 · 22/03/2008 20:42

tori...tinned pineapple doesa nothing. Must be fresh. Not that that works either, as you need at least 7 whole ones

HolidaysQueen · 23/03/2008 10:30

Congratulations cricketsmum!

Morning to everyone still waiting. It's getting a bit miserable now isn't it, with all these lovely cuddly babies arriving and us still dealing with piles, weeping fits, broken sleep etc. - although of course, we probably will still have all that to deal with when we are on the other side

So, should we run a book on who will be last to have their baby?

Prisci · 23/03/2008 11:19

Cricketsmum congratulations indeed!

mistyamica · 23/03/2008 12:08

congrats cricketmum!

holidaysqueen yes lets bet on who's the last to give birth! haha! i'm 2 days overdue now and still no signs

I bet I'm the last my little one is too comfortable! Mind you, he probably saw the weather and thought "i'm not coming out in this!"

tori32 · 23/03/2008 17:58

Well folks, I know it means nothing really, but have just lost the plug so hopefully things will start moving soon! Probably premature but I am sooo excited . Due today.
Will keep you posted.
cricketsmum congratulations!

turtle23 · 23/03/2008 18:22

BearMama · 23/03/2008 21:18

Congrats to all the new arrivals!
I was due today but I think DD is going to be a few days yet. Have developed stretch marks but dont care as managed to have sex this morning which was LOVELY - thought I couldnt. Didnt make a bit of difference to DD though.

Raspberry leaf tea next I think.

fitnfortyone · 23/03/2008 22:35

congrats to cricketsmum and anyone else i've missed in the meantime.

For those still waiting, hope time goes swiftly and you're holding your little bundles of joy soon

The twins are here !!!!

Harry Ronald and Millie June have arrived.

My waters broke on Saturday morning at 12.20 i called the labour ward and was told to go straight in as was expectin twins. contractions started about half past twelve and were only at the most two minutes apart. Got to hospital and had internal examination was only 4 centmetershas gas and air, half hour later was getting pressure in my bottom told midwife she checked me was fully dilated and nearly ready to deliver. Had epidural was advised to incase of problems delivering twins. Two fifty Harry was born and weighed 7.3 eight minutes later Millie arrived and weighed 6.5 1/2 all seemed to go too smoothly felt like i was dreaming i was breastfeeding them both at three twenty was amazing.

Came home same day just after dinner, as i am breastfeeding them they are constantly on the breast if its not them together they are taking it in turns i am so tired first night got about three hours sleep and last night only 45 minutes but going to try to stick with it until my milk comes in at least.
