sounds great - i'm happy to book the table although if scraggy is booking in the hotel bit then she could do it at the same time!

can everyone post on her if they're coming and who they're bringing so we can do numbers!!

Just to add just round the corner about a 5min drive is a lovely resvior park bit where you can walk and feed ducks and stuff, might be nice for after if its dry.

Katz - I'm in London today and tomorrow so might find it difficult to organise, although it was a good idea. If it's ok with you, could you go ahead and book the table for lunch and I'll ring and book our room when I can? I'm just conscious (Sp?) that last time we missed out as we spent so long dithering. If necessary, DP and I can stay elsewhere and drive over on the Sunday anyway. I don't mind what time we meet, although I'd like to get away by 3.30/4pm at the vey latest to get back to Swansea. x

katzguk · 02/02/2005 08:54

okay no problems

Hands up for lunch at the Yorkshire Bridge, Bamford, 27th Feb at 12.30noon

i have booked a table at 12 for 12.30 all they had left!!!! for 8 adults and two children so thats for

Me , my DH and my DD
Lua, her DH and her DD
Scraggy and her DH
JonahB and her DH

Mrs W are you coming too? if so the i need to change the booking and we will have to split between two tables, there max booking size is 8 adults.i really need to know ASAP they get very busy!!

They have highchairs but as yet i've not booked one because we will take DD's booster seat as it is generally less hassle! if you need a highchair can you let me know

OP posts:
Lua · 02/02/2005 15:09

Katz,
my DD never liked using high chairs until she saw her cousin in one. Now she wants and likes them! So I would say, can we please reserve one?
Although I guarantee that, once she sees you DD in a big chair, she will not want the high one...

MrsWednesday · 02/02/2005 15:11

Yes count me in too. Sorry for holding you all up.

MrsWednesday · 02/02/2005 15:11

And DH and DS too.

katzguk · 02/02/2005 15:12

how many mrs W?

OP posts:
MrsWednesday · 02/02/2005 15:22

Just the 3 of us. 3 1/2 if you count my belly.

katzguk · 02/02/2005 15:26

sorry i posted before you did

OP posts:
katzguk · 02/02/2005 15:34

i have booked a table at 12 for 12.30 all they had left!!!! 2 tables = 1 for 6 adults and 1 child (no high chair) and one for 4 adults and 2 children (both highchairs). The tables hsould be side by side so we can talk across the tables or banish the men to one!!
so the final head count is:

Me , my DH and my DD
Lua, her DH and her DD
Scraggy and her DH
JonahB and her DH
Mrs W, her DH and Her DS

OP posts:
Lua · 02/02/2005 15:39

Katz, when I grow up I want to be just like you!
Thanks again for being so organized and efficient!!!

MrsWednesday · 02/02/2005 15:50

Yes, thank you Katzguk for sorting all this out.

katzguk · 02/02/2005 16:30

i'm just feeling guilty for not sorting the spa out sooner booking is in my surname which i think you can all get from the sweetheart emails woudl rather not post it here.

Does anyone need directions? i can try!!!

OP posts:
Scraggyaggy · 02/02/2005 18:01

Katz - Thanks for sorting this out for all of us. You are a star. Have you been to this place for lunch before? Perhaps we can have a drink, then swap about to eat, then go for the walk you mentioned? That was the hard bit when we went to London, we had two tables pushed together and it was really hard to hear from each end, so I missed out on talking to some people.

JonahB · 02/02/2005 18:54

Hi All,
Just had a chat to DH and he's going to join us too. Katz, thanks so much for sorting this out, yet again. We are not worthy of your organisational skills. This sounds such a lovely idea. I'm a bit scared but i'm sure it will be fine....
I'm going to try and send you all messages (for the ones I haven't spoken to "off" line) to pass on my real name. If you dont hear from me soon though, dont worry, I'm not very good at these things.....

katzguk · 02/02/2005 19:51

yes i have eaten here on many an occasion, we have had working lunches here! and also our research group christmas dinner and have been for sunday lunch a few times aswell. The food is great, and if i rememeber correctly portion sizes are good too.

The table is booked for 12 noon because the kitchen staff like to do big group foods early plus they get very busy, so being there early will mean food sooner.

We could swap aorund between courses and have a shuffle! If the weather ins nice there are lots of choices for walks, although the resiviour round the corner has a nice safe walk, idea for thsoe of us with little people!

As for organising it well it means i get to choose where we go and don't have to travel too far! doubt i would have got DH to manchester!!

MrsWednesday · 02/02/2005 20:58

Just spoken to DH and he is definitely on for it. It's going to be so nice to actually put faces (and real names!) to user names. Scraggy, you'll be able to fill us in about all the London lot .

JonahB, I feel a bit scared too, but I'm sure after a few minutes we'll all be fine.

Now I've just got to worry about how I'll get DS to behave...

katzguk · 09/02/2005 15:42

not long now!!!!

OP posts:
Scraggyaggy · 15/02/2005 08:04

MrsW - Don't worry about DS. I am bringing him entertainment in the form of DP! He has the knack of being able to relate to little ones on their level iykwim!!

Can't wait to see you all!

x

JonahB · 18/02/2005 12:19

I'm afraid I've got some grovelling to do on behalf of my DH. The silly b*gger has gone and booked himself to work on the saturday and can't get out of it. Seemingly it isn't enough to triple check that the date is okay for him and he can make it. So sorry everyone, you're going to have me on my own......

Still, i've won lots of brownie points by being patient and understanding when he told me and not having an argument about it (I was sorely tempted). He has also given me full permission to complain to the other MN's about him as well....

Sorry guys. Please be gentle with me....

Lua · 18/02/2005 16:28

JOnah, I thought if you are going alone you might want a ride... Not sure where you are in Manchester. But if you are interested in getting a crash course on travelling with a toddler, CAT me!

katzguk · 18/02/2005 17:05

Can i just make sure you all know the booking is for SUNDAY the 27th!! as the spa had been planned for

OP posts:
JonahB · 18/02/2005 17:06

Lua,
That's a really kind offer, but i drive a lot for my job, so driving an hour is no problem for me, and also, I'm unlikely to come on the walk. I've just walked all of 100 yds to my nearest PO and it hurts! Very depressing.
But, really, thanks for the thought. BTW, I'm in Sale.

MrsWednesday · 18/02/2005 21:31

I wouldn't be surprised if my DH suddenly announced he had to work as well - he's just told me know (Friday night) that he's going to be working all this weekend. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Scraggy, your DP sounds fab.
