Ypu guys can always come to the 2nd London meet? just kidding.

Scraggyaggy · 27/01/2005 09:41

Katz and I looked last night for alternative spas in the area that might be able to do something. Is anyone relying on public transport? There's quite a lare one by the M4... although whether they can fit us in I don't know...

I guess we can keep the date and do something else, like a meal somewhere. The spa sounds great, but I am still excited enough to meet some of you that it won't matter if it is in a different setting.

Alternatively, we can try to change the dates. In this case, it might be better if Katz could get an idea of what dates are open for a bunch of preggars...

katzguk · 27/01/2005 13:30

meal sounds fine, there are lots of places in sheffield to eat! obviously!!

Scraggy is making a weekend of it with her DH so how about inviting them along too? then they can all see that we aren't a bunch of breastfeeding obsessed truckers!!

Food is always a good option! Told DH about it last night and he wasn't in the slightest bit concerned, strangely enough.

Scraggyaggy · 27/01/2005 17:38

I'm up for eating , but would want dp to come, otherwise I'd feel guilty me scoffing while he was kicking about Sheffield on his own. Admittedly, I've not asked him yet, and he might not be bothered at all.

Could you guys say if your DPs/DHs would be interested in coming or doing sthg else and then I'll go from there?

katzguk · 27/01/2005 18:42

i'm sure DP will not mind either way but if he comes then DD comes too! although she is quite lovely even if i do say so myself!!

My DH probably wont be coming as he works every 2nd saturday, plus he's quite shy with things like this and is more than happy for me to trundle off on my own. However, dont let that stop the rest of you bringing your DP's/kids.

A meal sounds like a great idea, whatever location we pick. I have no idea where the rest of you are based. I'm in Manchester but in my car, so can travel.

Lua · 28/01/2005 11:05

Scraggy, I can't remember where you are comming from, but thought if you are making an weekend out of it, whether there is any other places in the area that your DP will be particularly excited about...
Don't want to create any more confusion.... But, for me it doesn't matter if it is sheffield, leeds, manchester (not scenic, but lots of nice things to get DP excited about, perhaps?), York , Chester, Peak district... (these are particularly nice touristy places I know), or anywhere else around.

katzguk · 28/01/2005 11:07

peaks would be nice, there is a lovely pub called the strines inn which is just of the A57 (snake pass) about 20mins from sheffield. They have peacocks, also just down the road is a bike hire place and the resoviors.

I'm not bothered if i can drag DH then i have transport.

OP posts:
Scraggyaggy · 28/01/2005 12:41

The Strines In idea sounds nice. I don't mind where we go, we were just looking forward to a weekend away together, and obviously the MN meet up was a good excuse.

Lua - Coming from Swansea

katzguk · 28/01/2005 12:46

scraggy can't remember if you said you were wanting to stay soemwhere specific because if not then there are lots of lovely b and b in the peaks.

OP posts:
Scraggyaggy · 28/01/2005 16:28

I honestly don't mind where we stay. x

Lua · 31/01/2005 15:50

Sooo? what are we doing?
I am happy to do the strines Inn on the 27th. However, am a bit confused about the location... I thought the Peak district was North of manchester.... Can it really be just 20 minutes off from Sheffiled? Take pity on me, I am new to the area...
It should not be too hard to drag DH with me, if we are going that way. Would be happy to leave him behind too...

Scraggyaggy · 31/01/2005 19:01

Katz, Could you point us to a map/website for the Inn please? Then we need to book and sort out DPs and DHs.

katzguk · 31/01/2005 19:22

I'm not sure that the strines do b and b, i will have a think tomorrow and come up with something unless someone else wants to suggets somewhere. Another good pub for food is the yorkshire bridge which is again just off the A57 which is the road which runs between manchester and sheffield, looking on Yell.co.uk.

oo just noticed it has a website
pub

Scraggyaggy · 31/01/2005 21:48

Good website - just can't work out quite where it is! And it doesn't have the B&B prices for just a Saturday night... Well, I'll just call them and book if that's where we're going to go. Shall we all have a mosey and see what we can fnd?

katzguk · 01/02/2005 10:01

i know the food is good and anyone coming from manchester won't have a problem finding it but the leeds lot need to confirm its okay.

or someone need to make an exsecutive desicion and say this it the place for the northern meet until we can arrange another spa day

OP posts:
MrsWednesday · 01/02/2005 10:27

It's fine with me too. As long as I can eat, I'm happy to go anywhere. Are you all bringing DHs?

katzguk · 01/02/2005 10:34

i'm sure DH would come to the yorkshire bridge, think they do real ale will be bringing dd too if he comes

OP posts:
Scraggyaggy · 01/02/2005 17:53

I'd like to bring DP, otherwise I'll have to tell him to go play with the sheep or sthg! (Which does seem a bit mean, as I'm contriving to have our weekend away so I can meet you guys!)

Scraggyaggy · 01/02/2005 17:59

BTW - When can we have another spa day? Is mid-May going to be too late for the majority? I'd love to have a spa. I've found out that my beauty place in Swansea does them - £46 for 1hr 25mins and they scrub everything (back, bump, boobs then legs), put on some kind of sea mud stuff, wrap you up in tinfoil and give you a scalp or foot massage whilst baking!! Sounds like fun... although am not sure about someone else fondling my bossoms!

Lua · 01/02/2005 20:41

I mentioed to dp that we were meeting in the peak and he asked me sheepshily if he can come too..
So, I guess DH and DD are comming!
Shall we consider a done deal for the 27th?

JonahB · 01/02/2005 21:08

All sounds fine to me. Let me see if I can persuade my DH that this is a good idea. Although the idea of hormones like mine x 5 might put him off totally.......

Count me in, and hopefully my DH too....
