Morning Ladies,

I am 9dpo and just found out I am pregnant - very early but also very excited! Anyone else due in July?

@MendaciousMabel I feel the exact same, but trying to manage my expectations so much! But I did have a peak at some prints for a nursery before (which made me cry) and then quickly stopped 😂

dunkedbiscuit · 09/11/2022 10:06

Hello ladies, congratulations everyone! Please can I join? I’m around 4 weeks , I’m lucky to already have a 3 yr old and we’ve been trying for a sibling for two years, sadly had two miscarriages in that time so finding this really hard to believe! Feels like we’ve been TTC forever! Sounds like we’re in similar positions @Butterfliesandroses our local EPU have agreed to give us a reassurance scan at 8 weeks due to history of mc which is booked for 2nd Dec

July23hopeful · 09/11/2022 13:16

Hi all 😃
First pregnancy currently 5+4
Delighted, but a bundle of nerves at the same time 🙈
I have been struggling so much at night with a feeling of trapped wind on and off! Anyone else had this?

dunkedbiscuit · 09/11/2022 14:42

I’ve been getting quite a lot of gastric symptoms too @July23hopeful and really bloated, I look about 7 months! So weird the stuff going on in our bodies

Butterfliesandroses · 09/11/2022 14:54

@dunkedbiscuit welcome! We do seem to be in similar situations, some good (3 year olds), some not so good (2 MCs).. could I ask how you went about asking for the reassurance scan? I think that here we need a GP referral. My GP said they would have a low threshold for referring me but I would need to have either pain or bleeding first. I am very fortunate to have had neither so far, although I know how quickly that can change

July23hopeful · 09/11/2022 14:55

Reassuring to hear I'm not alone 🤣 its the most uncomfortable feeling. But a small price to pay 🤞

dunkedbiscuit · 09/11/2022 15:07

@Butterfliesandroses so we had been under the recurrent miscarriage clinic for tests (all non conclusive) and discharged earlier this year. I messaged them when I got this positive pregnancy test to ask if there’s anything I can do / support to access in this pregnancy and said I was feeling pretty anxious and they arranged the early scan. It may be worth you calling EPU directly to explain your situation and see if they would book you in?

msw1e16 · 09/11/2022 16:10

Hello!
First time pregnant and and very luckly manged to concice after just one time dtd! Complete shock.

Tested positive this am. My af first day was 5/10 so should be due july I think.

No real symptoms apart from slight cramping which I thought meant af was coming but no BFP!!

When are people telling close friends and family?

Is there a Facebook page for babies due in July?

When do you call the Dr to tell them?

elowheez · 09/11/2022 16:28

@msw1e16 congrats on your news that's amazing!
I have told a couple of mine and my partners closest friends so we have someone to talk to, however we decided to tell our families at Christmas!

thelma57 · 09/11/2022 16:32

Welcome @msw1e16 and congratulations! 💕

I think it depends where you are but I called my midwife services directly, but some places your gp will refer you, I would say do it now and then you can get everything booked in 🥰

Does anyone have days when they don’t feel pregnant at all? Having one of those today and it makes me feel so weird, like, is this real?!

gg9320 · 09/11/2022 18:17

Yes! @thelma57 I find my symptoms really fluctuate and I got my appetite back today after a week of not really being interested in food and having aversions to some things.

My DP and I have said that we won’t really believe it until I have an ultrasound! Even my GP confirmed it and I asked her to check again😂 apart from feeling a bit bloated at times (noticeable as I’m thin), tired and boobs hurt, I don’t particularly feel pregnant.

thelma57 · 10/11/2022 07:48

Glad it’s not just me @PinkPink1 @gg9320 ! I have one sore boob and do get some tummy twinges and a bad back, but then nothing else! However this morning I did feel like I had covid when I first got up, and strong smells are starting to get to me!

I missed my midwife’s call on Monday and they haven’t called back yet, really want to get everything booked in!

Hope everyone is getting on okay! 💕

heartbroken22 · 10/11/2022 08:14

@Ladyold haha I hope they do slot in as I've had weird thoughts. If we go Disneyland and there's rides to sit in 2s what will we do etc etc but it's okay my nerves are a bit better. I asked my 5 year old how would you feel? She just said she'd be happy and would love him/her etc.

@Laura. I get it. I'm worried about my nearly 2 year old too. She has days when she's clingy and days when she'll happily shove me away. One thing that scared me when I found out I was pregnant was the thought of having a double buggy or those 2 in one ones. They just seemed bulky but then I thought let the baby come and then decide!

Daniki · 10/11/2022 08:36

Is anyones sense of smell and taste off? I don't think I had this with my first but everything smells like it's gone off and I had a cup of tea there with a fresh milk and it tasted like it's gone off 🥴 so annoying 🤣

MendaciousMabel · 10/11/2022 08:40

Anyone else struggling to drink water? I'm normally really good and drink about 1.5 litres a day when I'm at work but I can't face water atm even though I am thirsty!

heartbroken22 · 10/11/2022 09:03

@Daniki

I'm really sensitive to the cold so have a congested nose this morning but yeah certain things do smell off. Certain tomato dishes taste really bad even pasta sauce. I'm just getting used to my tea as it tasted like soapy water for a few weeks.

@MendaciousMabel good job u reminded me I need to drink lots of water. But I find it hard as it tastes 'heavy' at the moment. I don't want to get a urine infection so I'm going to have to remind myself.

MendaciousMabel · 10/11/2022 09:10

@heartbroken22 yeah I really need to make sure I do drink some!! Just weird that I seem to have gone off it...!

Ladyold · 10/11/2022 10:40

@heartbroken22 I’d be fine sitting at the sidelines and eating an ice cream myself! My DH can do all the rides… 😆

Haven’t had any symptoms apart from exhaustion (probably because I’ve given up my 5-cups-a-day coffee habit) but had a wave of nausea this morning so assume that’s a good sign!

Abbi95 · 10/11/2022 10:56

I have really bad nausea AGAIN sound of expected it as I was the same with my DD but hoped it would be less extreme this time :( 10 weeks of hell in coming I’m only 6 weeks abd can’t afford to be so I’ll again :( sorry for complaining I’m happy I’m having another baby but then nausea and sickness is really traumatic for me :(

heartbroken22 · 10/11/2022 11:43

@Ladyold 😂

heartbroken22 · 10/11/2022 11:46

@Abbi95 don't worry I'm the same and I'm not looking forward to it. The sickness hits me really really bad.

inkworks273 · 10/11/2022 13:20

@Abbi95 I'm only 4 weeks but I'm absolutely dreading the nausea. I was so ill from 6-16 weeks last time. I only threw up once or twice a day but the 24/7 nausea was so debilitating.

Did you take any meds for it last time? I did and I tried to speak to my gp about getting them preemptively this time but got a big fat no from her.

Daniki · 10/11/2022 13:27

@inkworks273 speak to a good pharmacist as there is anti nausea options for you and a disgrace your GP wouldn't prescribe you anything!

velvetstars · 10/11/2022 14:06

Hello all!

I'm 6+5 and due baby #3 in early July. Excited to see there are some other mums with two DC already as I'm oddly nervous about this pregnancy and how we'll cope with a 3rd and being outnumbered. My DS and 2&5.

Hope you're all finding the first trimester ok x
