hello!!!

mixedmama · 16/10/2007 11:09

did you wear a lengha amani

Battymamma · 16/10/2007 11:17

Am loving the halloween nickname Gingeme - I'm going for it! My dd still does that with new shoes - squeezes the toes up. She hates getting new shoes - unlike her mother....

Sabinar - this Independent midwife thing sounds a good set-up. My preg yoga is also into getting you psychologically prepared for birth. I initially thought it was all mumbo jumbo but am getting into it now.

MM - I have facebook and ebay at work - its amazing how many hours they can take up!

Amani - Thought Isla looked fab. Don't often see celebs that preggas. My dd often demands 'one more book' in the middle of the night. Like you said tho, if you're awake already you don't mind. How do we do it with 2? Gingeme - let us know!x

mixedmama · 16/10/2007 11:23

No access to ebay either the gits...,

isnt there a mumsnet network on facebook, did you tell me about it Amani??

Amani · 16/10/2007 11:31

Lol at MM - change into an Indian wedding dress?? that must have taken ages!!

I wore a Rusty gold wedding indian lengha (wedding dress) with some beautiful sparkly diamonte - wanted to be a bit different from the traditinal red.

BM - agree with you completely. I often wonder I will hope with a toddler and newborn. I sometimes get ratty with lack of sleep, but will be having a lot of family around in the first month, so hopefully they will look after DD when I need to catch up on sleep.

Hey ladies how are you all? I?m shattered today had a very spicy chilli and suffered with heartburn and cramps all night ? last chilli I think! I also read quite a lot of labour comments from people on MN last night and got myself a little spooked

Sabinar ? must be lovely to know your MW in advance my doula comes round for a few sessions before the birth and after too, I think that will be nice. LOL at expectations of the NHS ? where are you from again? sorry to hear you had a bad night.

Bettymamma thanks for answering my questions and for being so reassuring LOL I think all average squared loo roll is fine I didn?t even know Isla Fisher was pregnant is that with Sacha whotsit Borat man?!

Oh Fruitful I am so sorry hon ? what does that mean for you? I think one of the ladies on the pg after mc thread has that too, is it to do with the blood vessels in the cervix? How are you bearing up hon? Sending hugs xx

Gingeme ? glad your DS is back to normal I totally understand your reaction to your nephew?s service ? thank god we have men and women with the courage to be out there for us all I?m so glad he?s safely home.

Mombanks - I can empathise, sleep is getting a rare commodity for me too. Are you going to share names with us sounds like a great deal on the cameleon, we are getting one too. I think you can buy a new mattress, in fact, I know you can because there is an overnight quality one as well as a day time one. Try the internet first and then maybe ask John Lewis?

Lilyloo ? thanks for your feedback on the chair We can celebrate our mat leave together on 21/12! all you do is wrap the toiler roll round the thickest part of your bump and then count how many pieces it took

Susiemj - hope it all goes well

Toomanyshoes ? I was hoping someone would say that about an innie mine is a very deep one and shows no signs of popping but I do have 13 weeks to go! if you get the Pilko, I hope you have more luck than my sis, hers broke after 8 months and M&P were not helpful about it as the warranty is only for 6 months. How stressful the whole blood and appointment thing sounds, poor you I hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

Mixedmama ? make sure you do get something nice! An heir and a spare as they say very of the meet up!

Beckyau ? glad the house renovations are still exciting! what colours will the baby?s room be? living vicariously as we are not having a nursery yet. I?ve always had big boobs too but the belly has definitely overtaken them now

Amani sorry you are not feeling great.

Sideways ? LOL yup, you are the biggest so far but then again my measurement was a week ago when are you due again? I have a feeling it?s long before me.

Neuro LOL at the 8 ¼! I lost a couple of pounds in Spain last week but that was probably because my Mum calls a piece of toast with spread on it a binge!

Coming up for some air now?back later!

mixedmama · 16/10/2007 11:37

I had to justify it to Dh you see because we bought the indian one for the Islamic cermeony, but his family caused issues and ended up wearing it in my flat so had to pproomise to wear it at the wedding in Turkey as well... then had to figure out timings as my dad insisted the white dress was worn for the ceremony but that it was also worn for a decent period of time. Palava. Got some great pics tho, of both.

Amani · 16/10/2007 11:44

MM - wow - that sounded complicated for a wedding dress. Please put some pictures up!!

i have them already up on facebook, cant get to any from here... is it too much information to put my name up here so you can search on there.

mixedmama · 16/10/2007 11:53

mmm.. just tried to do that CAT thing but have to pay £5.

madmouse · 16/10/2007 11:55

Morning all (nearly afternoon I see ). Just arrived at work after 25 week antenatal with GP. Have a little bit of protein in my urine, but blood pressure is the same as on my booking in at 8 weeks so she is not worried and told me not to be.
She upset my little one pressing my tummy to measure. I was thinking to myself he is a bit feisty and won't like it! When she got the sonic aid out he went into hiding as soon as she got the heartbeat and when she found him again he whacked the microphone with dead accuracy. I was very impressed and told my husband he missed a lovely moment. She said he was obviously doing very well in there. . Here is hoping that the protein is due to eating far too much at our Eid celebration at work last night or a UTI.

Fruitful I am sorry to hear you are stuck in hospital now. Are they still aiming for 'everything after 30 weeks is good'? We are all thinking of you.

FrankAwenstein · 16/10/2007 11:56

wow - it has been busy!

Friutful - sorry to hear that it is placenta accreta, is it in the mildest form? What are they going to plan for you? Hope you are bearing up ok. You seem to be coping amazingly xx

Mixedmamma - very nice to have you back x (is awen in halloween form here btw)

I am completely knackered - ver ylittle sleep again.. Cant get comfy, really itchy back, feeling like i need loo all the time (although i dont really need it), worrying about not getting back sleep keeping me awake, hip hurts, baby wakes up, getting too hot, then getting too cold, then boobs get all uncomfy.. then alarm goes off. I tried to sleep when back from school run but just cant get back to sleep.

I am off to MW this afternoon. New midwife so hoping she is nice.

Moses basket mattress arrived today The delivery lady from mothercare laughed and said she guesses moses basket mattress as bump prominent! lol. Belly button pretty much flattened out.

Amani · 16/10/2007 12:09

Awen - that's one thing I need to get moses basket matress.

MM - don't worry - I love looking at wedding pictures and love seeing what the brides wear - especially from other cultures.

Angechica · 16/10/2007 12:29

Mixedmama - have put my name up in my profile for a short time. Slightly more private than on the threads?

You should then be able to find me on Facebook OK.

In 2 weeks time our servers at work are going to change and we will be more restricted when using Mumsnet, Facebook, etc. But I'll probably still try and skive as much as I can by doing both ;)

Housemum · 16/10/2007 12:37

Toomanyshoes - I had a Pliko with DD2, wasn't really happy with it though loads of people say they are great. I loved the fact it folded small so gave me more space in the boot, but I didn't like the separate handles, as I thought they felt "wobbly" - where they are plastic handles on a metal frame, they wobble as you push. More of an issue when you have a hefty 2-year-old in it - the McLaren buggies are much better for bigger kids.

Also didn't like the fact that she faced away from me unless she was in the car seat, but I think they have changed that now? Unfortunately I still have it so couldn't persuade DH that we needed a new pushchair, but he relented on the second-hand pram! We have an old Silver Cross pram - I love it! Will post pics on my profile after sprog arrives So only have to use Pliko when going somewhere in the car rather than walking and out for long time so won't use the sling (and then only until sprog is 6 - 9 mths then I'll use my super-light McLaren Volo)

Neuro · 16/10/2007 12:43

Me too - am on Facebook and have just added my real name. Will remove tomorrow.

I was hooked on FB for the first weeks, but now only look every few days to see what everyone's been doing. It's great. My fav bits are the notifications of who's doing what.

Neuro · 16/10/2007 12:45

Naetha - i have a sore mouth too, gums are all achey and teethbrushing hurts. I think baby is stealing all my calcium now the little parasite!

Angechica · 16/10/2007 12:49

Neuro - I can't see your profile. Possibly I'm just being thick?

FB will be good for birth announcements as well won't it!

MrsMcSpooky · 16/10/2007 12:57

Sabinar ? I?ve heard the last thing is to receive a blue diamond for a boy and a pick for a girl ? I?d just be happy with a reallllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyy clear white one (or two!)

Gingeme ? I tried Freecycle but there didn?t seem to be much here

Sideways ? wouldn?t it be funny if you did bump bumps with Sabinar?!

Batty ? love the name LOL

MM ? same here, no ebay, no facebook but at least I can still get MN!! Phew!

Hey Madmouse ? glad things went well at the appointment, hope the protein isn?t anything to worry about. My Beanie has booted the sonic thing too, v funny he/she booted Daddy in the face last night as he was listening to Bump sounds

FrankAwen ? sorry you had a bad night, sounds like there were lots of us who did!

Hey Angechica

Housemum ? those silver crosses are so lovely

Right, lunchtime

Any thoughts on hypnobirthing?

mixedmama · 16/10/2007 13:04

Have added my name to my profile for the next hour.

mixedmama · 16/10/2007 13:06

neuro it says you dont have a page

Naetha · 16/10/2007 13:13

Babies are definitely parasites, although quite endearing ones I have to admit!! I'm (literally) sick and tired of having all my lovely nutrients leeched from me!!

Incidentally, did anyone watch that "Invasion of the Bodyscratchers" last night? Disgusting, but absolutely fascinating at the same time!!

I can also be found on facebook - name's in the profile, although I can't access your profile on MN Neuro, and I can't find you on Facebook Angechica. I think I'm having a "let's be a spoon" day though!!

DH came home from work yesterday with a 6-pack of Guinness...for me!! Apparently one of his work colleagues was feeling awful in the third trimester until she started drinking half a pint of guinness every night, and that sorted her. I had a pint last night (well 440ml) and woke up this morning with my usual headache (although behind my left eye today - nice to think that my brain is aware of equal opportunities...) and three more mouth ulcers!!

I still haven't got round to doing the toilet paper test...I'm worried how much of it will be baby, and how much of it will be chocolate ice cream!!

Sorry I'm feeling a little manic today, think I might go and calm down, or alternatively might go and have a coffee and get even more hyped up!

Ooh someone's just sent a card around for my colleague who's leaving to have a baby tomorrow...all this made me think was "ohshitohshitohshit I'm having a baby!!!!!" Anyone else get minor panic attacks every now and again?!

Battymamma · 16/10/2007 13:25

I only went off for lunch and you lot have been gasbagging

MM - you don't look like what I thought you'd look like. Silly how we get these ideas of what we look like in our heads!

MrsMcSpooky - my mate does hypnobirthing - Adam Eason. He has his own website somewhere - based Bournemouth way but can send stuff out on it. There is a little bit on his site about it.

Angechica - there are 100's of your name on FB!

Awen - Hope midwife appointment goes well and this one is nicer. Had mine last week - slightly raised blood pressure due to toddler climbing up the midwife's shelves pulling her books down and demanding chocolate me thinks! Baby is head down though. I could tell anyway from the kicks being up in my ribs and when it gets hiccups it squashes my bladder.

Battymamma · 16/10/2007 13:28

Naetha - am guessing profile pic is prepregnancy... or maybe it was your drinking your dh's guiness last night!! My name is quite common you lot would never find me on FB - there's lots of us.

Angechica · 16/10/2007 13:28

I found you and Mixedmama, Naetha - I promise not to invite you to add silly applications.

I realise there are 500+ names if you put mine in. I used to have a much less common name before I got married !

Battymamma · 16/10/2007 13:44

Bet you all miss pregnancy when its over (apart from those having a tough time of course). I really really missed it - isn't that weird? I missed feeling the baby move in my tummy and being that close to it and noone else being able to hold the baby. Maybe I'm a control freak!
