I got BFP this morning six months to the day after my MC, only 12DPO but so happy. Please pray this one holds on!!!! I am due on June 1 according to OV calendars so have the pleasure of starting this thread.

Anyone else out there or am I the only mental person who tests this early?

Hi Kif

Hope your dd is feeling better soon. Heres the rational side of me now.Its difficult I know but the pains you are having really could just be your body adjusting. I have been getting period type tummy pains but sure I remember having these with ds. Your will be worn out a bit aswell with looking after dd.
You could maybe have a touch of the bug yourself. I know all that is easier said and its not always the rational side that wins with us. Hope you are all feeling a lot better soon.

goingfor3 - ah didnt realise. it could be easier to go to there by the sounds of it. You could really do without all the messing about couldnt you, not what you need. Does your doctor maybe have a different / direct number through to them that they could try for you. Sorry if these are rubbish suggestions. Hope you have more luck tomorrow.

Hope your dd is healing well Josey.

TwilightSurfer · 04/10/2007 19:56

I've got period type pains too but I can also feel my body changing shape inside so I'm not worried. I'm only CD33 but I've already expanded enough to not fit quite right in several pairs of pants. This is DC2. I've heard you grow quicker the second time around but this is crazy. Going shopping for yoga type pants this weekend.

I wonder if my speedy growth means I'm carrying more than one . Wouldn't that be interesting.

debinaustria · 04/10/2007 20:28

HI TS - I've had pains too today, really low down , almost across the top of my legs and tea tastes disgusting already!!

Do you fancy twins then?

Deb

tizzwhizz · 04/10/2007 20:42

Ah TS twins - Are they in your family?

TwilightSurfer · 04/10/2007 21:06

I quietly do fancy twins but fear the process .

My family tree does contain twins but they are several generations back and probably due to having loads of kids prior. Seems the more kids you have the higher the chances of having twins. My great-grandmother (who was only sixty when I was born) had twelve children. My grandfather was one of eight. I come from a HUGE family tree and it's only the most recent two generations that believe in MODERATION!!!

Also, twins just seem to be all over the place. I counted 4 sets of friends with them when I first discussed the idea on MN. Now (after a little more thought) the tally is 7 sets of friends with twins. All but one set are second born (second pregnancy). All were born to mothers in their mid 30's. The time between the two pregnancies averages 3 years. All that said..it just seems to be a possibility.

One stat online said after 35 and at least one pregancy the chances are 1 in 100.

josey · 04/10/2007 21:15

Kiff DD was 2 at the end of Aug, she only started walking at the end on Jan so is a bit clumsy at time. She is healing very well there is just a little scab the cut was wider rather than deep so thats why it was glued. Hope your DD feels better soon.

Also having cramps, cant say I have changed shape yet though apart from a slight overhang happening on the bra I dont feel like eating or drinking anything not because I feel sick just dont seem to feel hungry, though fruity things and salt and vinger things are tasting sooo fine! I bought a big jar of pickle onions in yesterday in prep

TS are you sure there isnt 3 in there? are you really nice and thin? although im size 10 jeans I still have a bit of muffin top going on so probably hides me a bit.

Just thinking about the twins thing, anyone from TTC remember the "If I fell pg my sil and mil would think I have done so on purpose?)

Gfor3 hope you get lucky 1st thing tomorrow maybe they are only about in the morning

TwilightSurfer · 04/10/2007 21:23

Having twins would definitely be the "TRUMP" card in the pregnancy game.

and Josey hold your tongue...2 I can phathom but THREE..................are you insane!!!

I'm all about eating. You name it I feel compelled to eat it. And not just proper portions but LOADS. I just want to swim in food right now. I was so sick last time that I'm allowing myself to indulge just in case I can't eat in a few weeks.

josey · 04/10/2007 21:34

singgers a twighlight and slips of to the washing line for a peg to hold my tongue

skibump · 05/10/2007 00:24

(((goingfor3))) Hope everything is ok for you hun

I've had a -ve pg test, so definitely won't be on this thread regularly, but I'm wondering whether my +ve test was actually after the 10mns it says on the instructions In any case, it was so early it can hardly be called anything but a late period. Fingers crossed for next month

sorry to hear that skibump, hope you end up on july's thread!

goingfor3 really hope it goes well for you this morning. x

dp went out to see his best man last night (we're getting married in january, hopefully i won't really be showing by then) and came home absolutely blind and woke me up, i could have quite cheerfully killed him on the spot. didn't get back to sleep until 4am!! needless to say he is very contrite today and will be paying for it for quite some time! bring on the massage.

goingfor3 · 05/10/2007 08:04

DLM - when are you getting married? You will be suprised at how quickly you show after the first baby unless you have been doing alot of exercise!

tizzwhizz · 05/10/2007 08:08

Really sorry skibump - fingers crossed for july.

dylansluckymum · 05/10/2007 09:10

gfor3 we're getting married 3 jan... that is if i don't kill him before then. i luckily have a bit of room in my dress already and a very good seamstress to sort it out in canada when we get there. it's really the bust i'm worried about because last time my boobs were enormous! i don't care about people knowing, they'll mostly know anyway, i just want my dress to fit!

Estt · 05/10/2007 09:50

Morning all, its been a few days since I read posts and my my there is a lot to catch up on!

Just thought I would share my silly story of the day. I am being v v v sick all day at the moment (partly why I have not been posting - last thing on my mind!). Anyway, I was not going to make it upstairs in time this morning so ran out to the garden to throw up. DS ran after me, watched carefully, and then walked around the bushes pretending to throw up in them! Saying "mama - eeyuk" and laughing his head off!

The other day when DH came home, DS dragged him upstairs to spit in the toilet! This child is developing a comedy eating disorder! Does not help that DH just laughs and laughs when he does it!

nh101 · 05/10/2007 10:51

Hi all, sorry Skibump - wishing you a lucky month this month.

I am feeling decidedly seedy now, which is reassuring. Hope it doesn't get any worse though!

I am definitely having period-type pains and back pain althogh not as much as last week and I have definitely bloated right out this time. All my clothes still fit but I look like I have put on half a stone (when the scales say I have gained zero)!!

OP posts:
Rolf · 05/10/2007 13:19

Sorry Skibump .

Rolf · 05/10/2007 13:24

Twins! We have a few in my family (very few) but this is my 6th pregnancy (4th child, hopefully ) and I am 36 so who knows?

I've done 4 tests altogether - all positive, with a stronger line each day. I'll stop doing them now, I think.

DH wants to buy a ridiculously impractical car (we desperately need a family car) and was telling a friend about it the other night. His fried said "you'd better buy it straight away otherwise you'll go home one night and your wife will tell you she's pregnant again". And that's when I told DH our news

calebsmum · 05/10/2007 14:57

Hello! DS been ill with a cold so have been off computer for a few days, am still feeling sick but am not too bad on the tiredness front. Boobs are a little bigger and i'm definately bloated! Am so so excited about having another baby, am a complete blabbermouth and i've told everyone i'm expecting.

Congrats Debsinaustria and Dylansluckymum! Hope more peeps from the TTC Oct thread join us soon. Goingfor3, I had bleeding when I was pregnant with DS so I know how scary it is, hope your well.

supperwoman · 05/10/2007 16:11

skibump good luck next month

I too am swollen, looking fat feeling bloated. The sickness hasn't started yet but my boobs are bigger and tender - I think it's because I only finished boobie feeding in June so they were extra sensitive to the hormones.
I am feeling very tired and emotional.
Has everyone told everyone yet or are you keeping it secret. I'm afraid my secret is out and everyone at work knows - my own fault for opening my mouth to the wrong person.

goingfor3 · 05/10/2007 17:10

I saw my baby today!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to get the appointment from epu but went into the antenatal clinic to ask where it is first. The midwife I saw there was fab! She offered to call epu for me and when she came back to me she had arranged a scan for me. I went for the scan and they found it's heartbeat which was fab. Then I saw a dr who took some swabs and gave be a six week course of progesterone pessaires to keep my 'uterus quiet'. I am going back to see the consultant at the epu on Wednesday. I really can't beleive the fab service I had today and also find it hard to beleive that they could see the babies heartbeat already and with an abdominal scan. I can't stop grinning!

Kif · 05/10/2007 18:55

what a lovely story goingfor3!

We're much better here. I think my pains were to do with too much lifting - carrying poorly Dd to the doctors. We're all much better after 24hrs of taking it easy.

I've just realised - I'll need the dreaded twin pushchair, My youngest won't be walking solidly in 9 months - no chance.

I've only told Dh and mum&dad. We agreed not to tell Dd until the first scan... however, last night she was prodding my bloated belly saying 'Mummy has a big belly'. Then she stopped to think for a moment before saying 'Later mummy have a baby sister for me'. I must have really drummed in the "fat belly = baby" idea last time. I now live in dread of her announcing my news!

TwilightSurfer · 05/10/2007 18:59

Goingfor3 how cool!!! I go next week and I'm soooooo hoping they do a scan. I want to see too.

MS started this morning. Felt icky when I woke so quickly went to kitchen for drink and came back to bed. Got up to shower but had to stop to yak first. Only a bit nausas later but eating helped. Still really loving food. DH agreed he doesn't remember me eating so much with DD. He thinks it's because it's a boy .

Boobs are very noticable now. Find their getting looked at a bit more than before . Belly's a bit poofed too. Purchased a pair of cords, two skirts and two pair of yoga pants that should work from now till after I deliver. All are stretchy at the waist or are very low riding!!!!

Oh and I'm VERY tired today. Everytime I stop I want to dose off.
