I got BFP this morning six months to the day after my MC, only 12DPO but so happy. Please pray this one holds on!!!! I am due on June 1 according to OV calendars so have the pleasure of starting this thread.

Anyone else out there or am I the only mental person who tests this early?

Thanks for the welcomes

waves to Twighlight and Calebsmum - Twighlight yes have been the same, im very very sure that it is just my womb thicking and stretching to carry lo

I booked my midwife booking in appointment today lol! on 7 Nov - had DD at the surgery as she fell and cracked open her chin so thought may as well get it done, so I now have my pack and that stupid book that has the same pic's in I got with DS in 1999

tizzwhizz · 03/10/2007 07:06

Hi Hope everyone ok today.

I booked my appointment with midwife for November 7th also. Found it odd though had to see gp first who then refered me to midwife. Apparently they like to see mums before they get to 10 week appointment to give them pregnancy health advice. Think thats good but was exactly the same info I got with ds. Did say it was my 2nd. Just felt a bit like I was wasting gp's time.

goingfor3 · 03/10/2007 08:19

Morning all,

I hope all spotting has ceased for everyone.

I feel exhausted this morning and can't bear the thought of the school run, it isn't going to get any easier is it!

Last time I had my midwife booking in appointmant at 6 weeks but I haven't received an appointment yet and I really just want to get things going as I need to arange having a cervical suture put in. Maybe I will get a letter this morning.

DLM - You got it right! I'm not telling anyone on the group yet as I know one in RL and I want to keep quiet this time which is very unlike me!

dylansluckymum · 03/10/2007 09:00

morning all! i'm trying a new method to stave of sickness of only eating fruit for breakfast (easiest food for the body to digest) and it seems to be working really well. fingers crossed it stays that way!

goingfor3 i'm keeping it to myself for now too, particularly until after this early scan, which the gp referred me for yesterday. i'm going in early next week when dp can take time off. i feel worried about it but i'm hoping this morning sickness is a good sign!

btw the dr. reckons my due date is 9 june. i'm getting more excited by the minute!

systemsaddict · 03/10/2007 09:45

Hi guys, welcome to newbies, sorry to hear the news from 07. Hope everyone's OK today and managing to stay calm! LOL at knicker watch, know exactly what you mean!! All OK here but my symptoms have really eased off so I'm a bit concerned, nothing I can do about it but wait I guess; will phone gp today and get 1st midwife appt, see if I can get in for early dating scan as I don't know my dates for sure. Dp has been ill with sickness bug the last 2 days so maybe I had that last week and it wasn't just pg symptoms anyway ... who knows!

Rolf · 03/10/2007 11:26

Hello - can I join? I got a bfp yesterday. I am working on various ridiculous superstitions:

I returned my old maternity exemption certificate (had m/c few months ago) the day before the BFP

I joined a gym two weeks ago because I was sure that as soon as I made a financial commitment I would get pregnant

I have changed my name for this thread as I am not telling ANYONE who I know apart from DH - last time I told everyone as soon as I had a bfp.

I am feeling utterly woozy and queasy which is encouraging. And I'm having very vivid and peculiar dreams, too. DH is having similar symptoms so either he is pregnant too, or we both have a tummy bug

I have 3 children, aged 7,6 and 2. Have had a few m/c and generally have a rather awkward obstetric history. But I'm hoping not to book in until I'm further along. I had the most recent m/c at 5 weeks and had already booked in, which somehow made it all a bit worse.

systemsaddict · 03/10/2007 12:38

Welcome Rolf!! My dp gets sympathetic symptoms - he had nausea, cravings, fatigue and even Braxton-Hicks with my last pregnancy - this time the first sign I was pregnant was when he became obsessed with hot lime pickle and had to go out in the middle of the night to get some - I never believed in them before, but he is absolutely not the kind of supportive I-feel-your-pain type to imagine these things, in fact is rather p'd off to be dealing with them! Apparently they're quite common, I found some medical research on them - I put them down to pheromones floating round the air - so maybe your dh IS pregnant too LOL!

I called the surgery this morning and apparently I do have to see a dr. to have pregnancy 'confirmed' - last time this meant: "did you get a positive test? OK you're pregnant" - seems a bit of a waste of NHS resources but oh well, I guess they have to assess where I'm at / whether to refer to midwife or consultant / etc. So am seeing dr. tomorrow at which point it will all become 'official'. Am a bit reluctant to do this at this stage, I'd rather wait a bit, know what you mean Rolf, but might need dating scan earlier rather than later so probly best to get the ball rolling now.

Rolf · 03/10/2007 12:45

systemsaddict - as I was reading the beginning of your post I was thinking "God, what a big girl's blouse her DH is" and I was SO relieved you then said that he isn't generally a "feel your pain" guy

I had loads of scans when I was expecting DD and definitely don't want any more than necessary this time. I have a really nice midwife here so I'll give her a call when I'm ready to, if things get that far.

We have joiners downstairs who have just brought in chips with curry for their lunch and I am on the verse of snatching them off them - I'm drooling!

calebsmum · 03/10/2007 13:05

I hiked up a volcano in Iceland when 8wks pregnant with DS! He was fine although I was very tired. Am still feeling sicky thank god for polo mints, tiredness is not really that much of a problem at the moment, have my midwife appointment on the 30th! God, still can't believe this is happening, how can I be a mum to 2 children!!!

Waves at Josey, yay another BFP!!

systemsaddict · 03/10/2007 13:53

ROFL @ big girl's blouse, absolutely not Rolf! I know what you mean, it sounds like the sort of thing that only happens with wafty here's-your-lavender-oil-darling-let-me-participate-in-your-pregnancy-and-birth types - no offence to anyone whose dh is like that, there are times I have longed for it, but dp wouldn't even touch my bump to feel ds kicking last time; when we went for 1st scan and I said 'how did that feel for you?' his response was 'f*ing weird, there really is something inside you' - this is why the sympathetic symptoms seemed so unlikely!! (Not dissing him I hasten to add, he's lovely and a great dad, and most of the time I feel much more comfortable with his habitual cynicism than I would with too much sympathy and understanding, but there are moments ....)

Calebsmum - HUGELY impressed at your mountain climbing exploits!!!

supperwoman · 03/10/2007 15:47

tizzwhizz · 03/10/2007 16:43

Congratulations supperwoman and anyone else I have missed.

Hope everyone with worries is ok.

Flosspot - Hope hotwater gets sorted. Why is it these things go wrong when pregnant and feeling rubbish. Last thing you want to have to sort out. Ours did it when 6 weeks pregnant with ds and dh was away with work, my tolerance levels werent particularly high. Good Excuse to have an early night and hide under quilt.

Feeling shattered today, bit out of sorts. Went to gp's this morning to ask advice on returning to work with broken nose. Work in a special school and sometimes pupils can get a bit aggressive, was worried about getting hit in the nose even just accidently. Dont know if it is paranoid pregnancy hormones kicking in (maybe too early) but felt she didnt really take it seriously actually said "is that really likely to happen" er yes possibly if they lose control they wouldnt necessarily mean to do it but has happened to staff in past. She said if it does get hit then it gets hit I have a hospital appointment on Friday 12th so they will check it anyway. Doesnt think it could be made any worse by getting hit. It wasnt that I was angling for time off really enjoy my job. Just made me feel patronised.

Actually have just read that back and its a bit whiny isnt it Just needed to vent sorry. Are anyone elses hormones all over the place?

goingfor3 · 03/10/2007 17:31

Well just went to the toilet and I have had some light pink cm so I don't think I will be on this thread for long. I feel so disapointed and sad

tizzwhizz · 03/10/2007 17:41

goingfor3 - dont lose heart just yet, have everything crossed for you. Are you ok?

Will keep thinking and sending positive vibes for you. Sorry you are have had that happen.

nh101 · 03/10/2007 17:51

Goingfor3 - you know bleeding can be nothing to worry about, it is so common pregnancy so stay positive! Are you getting a scan?

My hormones are definitely all over the place - I am really spotty and feel like I have monster PMT (when I don't really get PMT ). Is PMT when you feel like knifing someone?

OP posts:
nh101 · 03/10/2007 17:55

Tizzwhizz I have been feeling a bit paranoid too - is that normal? It is the same feeling I get when I have been out on the lash and got totally drunk made a fool of myself and then woke up the next morning thinking "what on EARTH must people think of me?"

(((((((Thinking of you goingfor3)))))))

OP posts:
systemsaddict · 03/10/2007 18:19

LOL nh101 that's exactly it, completely paranoid and wanting to knife someone, you have summarised the hormonal madness perfectly!

Hope all is well goingfor3, bleeding is so common at this stage, I had lots with ds1 and it was fine, but v. scary at the time. We are all thinking of you.

Any more news from skibump?

josey · 03/10/2007 18:27

Hello

NH101 hahahaha yes that is exactly it!! hangover hell without the drink it sucks lol!

Goingfor3 - dont worry yet I had pink CM with both of my loud cheeky monsters that are running wild in the house just now. If I remember right pink is usually a sign from outside of the cervix like a nic or tear. Good luck thinking of you xx

goingfor3 · 03/10/2007 18:47

Thanks all.

josey good to hear it maybe from the cervix as mine was damaged when i had my last mc as I still had a cervical suture in place. Maybe the hormones have weakened it more but hopefully not enough to make me mc so early.

dylansluckymum · 03/10/2007 19:28

goingfor3 sending you lots of positive thoughts i'm sure everything will be okay just hang in there. [big hug]

tizz whizz i know just how you feel i've felt like a complete psycho all day, i just can't seem to get a grip on myself and have been crying for no reason at all one minute and then biting dp's head off the next. he just came up and started to read over my shoulder and that started me off all over again!

josey · 03/10/2007 20:06

goingfor 3 sounds very plausable if you still have a suture as im sure you know you cervix drops and thickens when pg so the suture as maybe just given you a slight rip - fingers crossed xx
