nh101 · 21/09/2007 11:29

I got BFP this morning six months to the day after my MC, only 12DPO but so happy. Please pray this one holds on!!!! I am due on June 1 according to OV calendars so have the pleasure of starting this thread.

Anyone else out there or am I the only mental person who tests this early?

I'm back from mat leave.. next monday.

They're onna love me

Chart says it's a boy.. and it worked for my other two - but still . I also think it's a boy because my skin looks better than before and I'm not too nauseous. Apparently girls 'steal your beauty' and make you sicker

dylansluckymum · 07/10/2007 16:59

so funny how people say that about girls stealing your beauty - with ds i had horrible spots everywhere, especially my back (have never had spots, even during puberty!) and dandruff and oily skin and b.o.... just about every unattractive thing you could imagine! i think it's just different for every baby.

i went for a nice long with with dp and ds today and it helped my sickness so much. i feel almost normal right now!

the chinese predictor was right about ds and says i'm having another boy! i'd love a little girl now but i'll be happy with either. we'll see soon enough! out of curiousity, do most of you choose to find out the sex or are you going to leave it a surprise? i'm rubbish with surprises but dp insisted we not find out with ds and it was the best moment of the whole labour, i was absolutely shocked he was a boy it was fantastic. definitely going for the surprise again this time!

dylansluckymum · 07/10/2007 17:00

oops should have said nice long WALK with! so the preg brain begins!

Lazylou · 07/10/2007 17:01

According to the chart it's going to be another girl for me! I'm not bothered either way though (unlike last time!)

I didn't know about the size thing, so thanks for those comments. I think I need to invest in some tracky bottoms or something, the idea of maternity clobber this early on seems a bit extreme to me (unless as Calebsmum helpfully pointed out I'm expecting twins lol). It's strange though, because it feels hard at the top and squishy at the bottom. Weird!

I still want to tell everyone. I'm not happy that my uni class knows and my work colleagues know. It's just not the same as telling your mates lol.

Lazylou · 07/10/2007 17:04

Dh didn't want to know the first time, but I did. I'm not one for surprises, so DH left the room and the scan man told me. Just about the whole world knew, but DH got the shock of his life when DD was born. He kept asking is 'he' ok, so was obviously expecting a boy. When the midwife told him DD was a girl, his face was a picture, not because he didn't want a girl, just he couldn't believe he guessed wrong and nobody had let slip to him that she was a girl.

Definately going to find out again this time too.

TwilightSurfer · 07/10/2007 17:09

I will find out the sex as soon as possible because I'm a PLANNER who requires all the details. Sometimes wish I could wait but it's just not in my nature.

Just order a few more pairs of pants online that should do me through til after the birth.

debinaustria · 07/10/2007 19:12

Lilypink - looks like we'll be pregnancy buddies - I'll be 5 weeks on Thursday too!! I did another test today - was given my friends spare CBD - seeing that word pregnant made all the difference rather than a faint line!!

I've been feeling a little sick at times but not every day, can still fit in my clothes but by the evening I need to change into jogging bottoms. Boobs are still sensitive but not as much as yesterday.

Good luck waiting until Thursday to test again.

Deb

debinaustria · 07/10/2007 19:13

In response to finding out the sex - I'm in 2 minds part of me wants the surprise after labour, the other part wants to know to get used to the idea!! We did try to sway our chances for a girl but now that I'm pregnant I'm just worrying now that it's healthy.

Deb

Lilypink · 07/10/2007 19:54

Hi Deb, I am in my joggers every night and its nothing to do with pregnancy - just a slob

Have you any other children I have a Dd who is also a june baby - perfect time of year. I wanted another summer baby - but wanted to avoid being heavily pg during the hot summer months - so june is just right. I am just hoping that this one sticks.

Tigger13 · 07/10/2007 22:12

HI Deb & everyone.

Sorry to hear you are feeling rough at night to, felt a bit better earlier and of course started thinking something wrong, hormones they just can win ay! Feeling rubbish now on PC so will try and be quick.

Yes I remember you had 2DS and were trying to swing it for girls, based on my charts we were away from ovulation about 2-4days so you never know, although very sceptical about stuff like that. Fingers crossed for you, although as long as we all have healthy babies in 8 months that's all that matters.

I am due on the 12th I think, day b4 BIL gets married so keeping very quiet at the moment as not sure how it the news will go down!!

thinking of making dr appointment for next week so have something to aim for.

Thanks for mention of the tea will have a look for it, in health food shops??

Night night x

josey · 07/10/2007 22:37

Hi All I have had a very busy weekend, just been trying to catch up.

G43 glad you got a scan and saw the heart it good things have got better.

Have done the Chinese thing, and was wrong on both accounts so if I got with the opposite of what it says im having a girl!

Kif I had the worst sickness and spottiest skin with my DS the whole 9months I looked like an 8 week old corpse, with DD I wasnt too sick and actually found out what glowing was about so Im very different to you.

I think I will guess by my cravings as went made for salty things with DS and would have eaten cakes and spoons of sugar with dd. Also bump was very diff.

Not been feeling very sick, or hungry though went I start eating I forget to stop, very sleepy though cant sleep apart from that I have to keep reminding myself.

Im 5 weeks today I think

debinaustria · 08/10/2007 06:20

Morning everyone. hope you're all feeling OK today.

I'm feeling quite well this morning, it seems to get me later in the day.

What's everyone up to today?

Deb

dylansluckymum · 08/10/2007 09:32

i'm the same deb i seem to have a few hours in the morning when i'm fine and then about 10.30 or 11 it hits me! luckily it seems to fade again by 2 or 3 so i just have to weather the storm!

josey i really hope that my body works the same as yours in that respect as so far my skin isn't too bad and in fact even looks kind of good. maybe that means it's a girl this time... touch wood my skin stays this way though i really don't want to get married with spots everywhere. ah well, at least we found a photographer who gives you electronic copies of all the photos to do with what you want so there's always airbrushing!

hope everyone has a great day, we're going to epu tomorrow very excited!

tizzwhizz · 08/10/2007 10:03

Hi

just a quick one for tigger13 will catch up with everyone later. Tesco sell Rooibos tea the make i have is tick tock. Really reasonable prices. I find that I get best taste leaving bag in for 4 minutes.

Hope everyone ok catch up later.

flosspot · 08/10/2007 10:36

Oh my god- I go away for the weekdn andnow I have to read pages....

all good here- boobs the size of melons- have had to buy maternity bras to sleep in! Not yet consistently nauseous, but struggling to have breakfast as I simply don't feel like anything. Oh and sleepy and ravenous....all sounds pretty normal, right. Bit worried about how fat I am gttting, though assume it's all bloating as the sclaes (which usually lie and tell me I have put weight on) are telling me I haven't put on an ounce!

PiggyPenguin · 08/10/2007 11:59

hi, got BFP this morning and thought I would just poke my head in and wave joyously. Am feeling very anxious at present as had early mc earlier this year so will probably lurk more than post to begin with as am concerned will jinx the whole thing.

Wanted to say hi though. Hi!

flosspot · 08/10/2007 12:20

Hi Sybil- good to see you...so excited for you, but will obvioulsy contain my enthusiasm for now.

Should also so hello to Ronshar in case she is lurking!!!

Kif · 08/10/2007 14:03

hello all,

my gran talked about 'sweet for a girl, sour for a boy' to guess sex by cravings. i find it unreliable because i end up with psychsomatic cravings to 'confirm' my gut feeling.

basilbrush · 08/10/2007 14:36

Hi girls and congrats, congrats on your BFPs!

Just a quick hello, as 28 and tweeny weeny 4+6 with No.2

Am feeling rather jittery to say the least as have already had two m/c this year but please all cross your fingers for me that it'll be third time lucky !!

The Chinese calendar was correct about my DS and says this one is a girl - hooray

dylansluckymum · 08/10/2007 14:46

rats kif if that's true then it really is a boy for me again, i've had the most intense cravings for smoked oysters of all things. the other day i wanted them so bad i was actually salivating as i was trying to get the tin open.

mind you if we do have another boy we'll save a fortune on clothes!

hi to sybil and basil too... hope to chat with you lots over the coming 8 months or so.

goingfor3 · 08/10/2007 14:53

Welcome sybilvimes and Basilbrush! A few of us on this thread have miscarried this year so we can all support and understand each other.

Hello Sybil and BB - and Ronshar (I know you'll be reading )

I have been sick as a dog today, just want to go home a curl up on the sofa under a duvet and watch The X Factor (still trying to avoid the newspapers so I don't find out the final 12 before watching it.)

Hope all those with worries are having a good day. I didn't feel sick yesterday afternoon and evening which worried me and I am starting to feel a bit better today so maybe my morning sickness really is just mornings.

Re cravings, with ds all I wanted were fishfinger sandwiches, with dd I wanted chicken flavour crisps and lemonade. Make of that what you will.

I also got really bad morning sickness with ds, but felt sick with dd in afternoons only. Apparently, if your gums bleed it is going to be a girl. And this was true for me! I think each pregnancy is dirrerent to be honest
