@umabb I have got 4 packs of breast pads to start with I was going to buy reusable washable ones be kind to the planet etc but at a NCT sale I got 4 packs for 50p!!
I wouldn't get nipple shields to start with hopefully you won't need them xx

Gigitree · 20/04/2020 19:13

@BabyBird20 peppermint tea if you have any?

Rinoa · 20/04/2020 19:18

I had some really weird sharp pains in my pelvis area today. Never felt that pain before. It was a constant sharp pain. Briefly, about 30 seconds then went away after I got up and moved around a bit. Anyone have that? It's not come back and baby is moving so I'm guessing it's just something that happens !

Gigitree · 20/04/2020 19:19

Anyone else only feeling movements really low down? 99% of the time I feel her movements low down in my pelvis & around my hips - occasionally I’ll feel some kicks up near my belly button, but that’s the highest I get. Not sure if I should be concerned or not? I’m not complaining, but I expected to be getting kicked in the ribs and all sorts!

LillianFullStop · 20/04/2020 19:38

@Rinoa I had that today too but not quite 30 seconds. More like 5 seconds. But it was definitely new. A lot more tingles today than a couple of weeks ago.

How far along are you @Gigitree? I was like that earlier on - all kicks and jabs in the bladder. Now 33+3 and uterus is higher up so definitely getting the jabs in the ribs and visible movement across the top of my bump - kind of freaky actually!

@Andddddherewegoagain I had my OB phone call today and he verbally agreed with my reasons for ELCS and will put it down as a recommendation on my notes. No date set yet though. Not sure what happens if I go into labour beforehand? Hope yours goes well.

Busylizzie85 · 20/04/2020 19:40

@Gigitree I get a lot of my movements that feel like she's really low down hard to describe but like she's got a hand or foot right in the crease of the bump at the bottom. I also get what I assume is her bum go across my belly button from left to right and vice versa my belly suddenly moves and a hard lump goes up. I find it fascinating watching my belly sometimes.
I think we will all get last of odd movements and things we will find odd as our baby's get bigger and bigger I'd love to see an actual imprint of a foot come out 😍

Gigitree · 20/04/2020 19:42

@LillianFullStop I’m 30+5

Busylizzie85 · 20/04/2020 19:42

Correction get a lot of odd

33+3

umabb · 20/04/2020 19:43

@SearchingTheSkies I kept todays eating quite light and there were some moments i thought I was going to be sick again but some lemon sorbet really helped! Don't know really what that was, sickness triggered palpitation or palpitation triggered sickness.. I'll try to keep the portions smaller I guess. x

@mrssunshinexxx thanks for the info about the pads I might have to get a bit more x

Gigitree · 20/04/2020 19:46

@Busylizzie85 hmm I don’t really get any movements like that. It’s all just kicks, and rolls and hiccup like motions that I get down really low. Then the occasional kick up near my belly button.
It’s just no end of worries isn’t it? We worry if they’re moving too much, not enough and then also where their movements are! 😂

Busylizzie85 · 20/04/2020 19:48

@Gigitree maybe she just likes it down there more room perhaps who knows! As long as she's moving normally than I wouldn't worry 😊

AndddddHerewegoagain · 20/04/2020 19:52

Thanks @LillianFullStop I'll let you all know the outcome Thursday! Nursery have said if i have a specific date they'll let my ds go in for those days as they appreciate the circumstances!
On the NHS website it says if you're booked in for an ecs and go into labour beforehand they will monitor you and let you progress as you can but will obviously still c section if its needed.

I had 2 braxton hicks that had me bent over in pain earlier thats the strongest they've been yet!! Had my normal braxton hicks whilst going for our daily walk. My son walked me miles today. I was ready to go home before he was!

umabb · 20/04/2020 19:54

@Gigitree I literally feel him everywhere. I know he changed position and is heading down which is why I feel the hiccups always centred lower but I get those punches on both sides of my belly and kicks near belly button and my stomach - I bet one reason I felt so sick this morning was him kicking my stomach so hard.. also in the afternoon when I was watching a video on phone which I kind of touched on stomach , he wanted to kick it off too.. super protective of his territory 🤪 agree with @LillianFullStop , a few weeks earlier I felt him lower.

I'm 32+1

Gigitree · 20/04/2020 19:58

Haha yeah maybe @Busylizzie85 I’ve got quite a long torso, so perhaps she’s just got too much room! 😂

Gigitree · 20/04/2020 20:00

@umabb thanks, haha I love hearing stories of them kicking things off!
Perhaps I’ll be back on here in a couple of weeks then complaining that she’s kicking me in the ribs 😂

umabb · 20/04/2020 20:01

A bit TMI --
has anybody got bad constipation and what do you do to help? I thought I was so lucky having been no problems going even though I constipate some times before pregnancy ! Too early to think that apparently , it has started hitting me hard since last week - for no reason ! I've been eating the same sort of food! Plenty of veg and fruits and yogurt ! Why 😑 it's like as soon as entering the 3rd trimester all sorts of problems appeared. I've started having all bran for breakfast again but it doesn't seem to be as useful as before anymore 🙄

umabb · 20/04/2020 20:05

@Gigitree haha yes exactly. I don't think they have a fixed position yet and still turning a lot so she can be kicking you anywhere really. get ready for the stomach attack! 😆

LillianFullStop · 20/04/2020 20:14

@Gigitree that sounds about right for 30/31. Right around the bellybutton sometimes but mostly flutters below and stomping on my bladder.

He also used to be shy and would stop moving if DH but his hand there - now if my DH puts his hand or cheek on the bump he gets jabbed Smile yes @umabb mine doesn't like when I rest my phone on there either and gives it a kick!

Sure seems like things ramping up for you I hope you get something sorted on Thursday before things kick off! Good you have confirmed arrangements for DS. Another bonus of ELCS is knowing the date so my sister can get to us beforehand so she can mind DD. Of course who knows what will happen and I go into labour!

Gigitree · 20/04/2020 20:18

Thanks @umabb & @LillianFullStop that’s really put my mind at ease! Not sure for how long, I’m sure I’ll find something else to worry about soon enough 😂

@umabb sorry to hear you’re suffering! I seem to have random bouts of constipation for no rhyme or reason so I just put it down to hormones! Eating lots of fruit tends to help me! And hummus for some reason? Chickpeas must have lots of fibre 😂

Rinoa · 20/04/2020 20:22

@LillianFullStop just endless worries ! Lol I haven't felt anything else weird since so hoping that's a good sign.

umabb · 20/04/2020 20:23

@Gigitree chickpeas / hummus sounds a good idea! I love them - time to get some when the husband going shopping later this week x

Gigitree · 20/04/2020 20:25

I love hummus too @umabb so It’s never a chore to have! Double up on the fibre with a wholemeal pitta to dip in! 😋

AndddddHerewegoagain · 20/04/2020 20:25

@umabb i have to drink about 6 litres of water to not be constipated, you can also take lactulose but thats more a stool softener than a make you go like a laxative

All bran is great but it draws a lot of water from the bowel so you need to make sure that the water is there so it can do its thing if that makes sense.

Am i the only one getting my husband to do the perineal massage? I can't even begin to comprehend how i would bend that way. 😂😂

Gigitree · 20/04/2020 20:33

No @andddddherewegoagain I will be getting my hubby to do it too - I can barely reach now, but it will just get worse as the weeks go by and my belly gets bigger! 😂
Just hope he can suppress his childish sense of humour for 5 mins 🙄

AndddddHerewegoagain · 20/04/2020 20:53

@LillianFullStop was that last bit of your message for me? I was hoping my sister would be able to help but she has 3 children of her own plus she's NHS so not sure i want her here in the nicest way!!
Yes the good thing about a elcs is having a date and a plan. The Braxton hicks are so weird as I didn't have a single one first pregnancy! But i also wasn't going for 2 hour walks and having a toddler jump on me all day 😂

@Gigitree when i told my husband first time round what he had to do he looked delighted. He quickly realised there was nothing seductive about it!
