Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

i had my booking in appointment with midwife at 6 weeks and had my scan last fiday, the only number i have that she gave me was my drs, i definatly am going to push for a scan else i wont rest!! but what if he says no??

turtle23 · 31/08/2007 13:30

ilike...Wishing you all the best today...I just know you'll be ok.
To start the positivity again, I just came from my booking appt where I met the nicest midwives ever! They're over the moon I want to do this at home. They've let me go to the nice little midwife-run clinic instead of hospital for future things, and even though I'm only 10+5 they listened for a heartbeat...AND FOUND IT! Am an emotional wreck after the last few days, but today has refocussed my thoughts onto HEALTHY HAPPY BABY THOUGHTS and I know it will all be fine!
Big hugs to all!

turtle23 · 31/08/2007 13:31

I like...If I were you I would just go straight to your EPU and cry. They seem to take things seriously there.

MerlinsBeard · 31/08/2007 13:33

ilike, when were you scanned? friday was it? they may not scan again so soon actually but as you have seen a heartbeat a week ago and know that there is an empty sac in there () AND you had sex last night, i think the chances are very slim that things have gone wrong.

iliketosleep · 31/08/2007 13:34

hi turtle hun we dont have an epu here so ive only got my drs im so pleased for you that you got to hear your little ones heartbeat!! did dp go with you?

iliketosleep · 31/08/2007 13:36

i really hope so! ive made a deal with myself that if everything is ok ill never have a hot bath again!!!!

MerlinsBeard · 31/08/2007 13:37

oh dear

iliketosleep · 31/08/2007 13:43

frannieinthecity · 31/08/2007 13:47

skidoodle - where do you live? i bet there will be a pregnancy yoga class somewhere nearby, let me know, i have the british wheel of yoga catalogue here with all the pregnancy teachers around the country.

good luck ilike

frannieinthecity · 31/08/2007 13:54

ps. hey all, what is EPU? (doh!) i haven't had scan or midwife or anything yet, all happening on the 11th

iliketosleep · 31/08/2007 14:03

early pregnany unit

piggyp · 31/08/2007 14:18

Good luck Iliketosleep, I hope your appointment goes well.

I didn't know about the hot bath thing - it's the best part of my day! Perhaps we could all lie in the bath with thermometers in our mouths (instead of the glass of wine that used to be).

e14mum, I had my scan yesterday too and the little thing was moving around like anything. I can't believe it can do that without me feeling it. I keep having to look at the picture!

iliketosleep · 31/08/2007 14:49

im off all, will let you all know as soon as i know myself and thanks once again!

iliketosleep · 31/08/2007 15:24

got a scan on monday afternoon but he wasnt giving anything away

Brazilianmum · 31/08/2007 15:27

Some ar**hole at work just sent me shitty email. All I did was ask him to send one of his contacts an email by next Friday and politely said I hope he could give the request urgent attention as it's a high profile thing. And his answer was:

So you thought you ask me four business days before the deadline, right before the last long weekend of the summer, when I already have five drop dead deadlines, all due next week, all still waiting to get my full attention. So what you thought this would be the ultimate test of your charm!

There is no need for this. So needless to say it made me cry. Just want to go home...

imjin100 · 31/08/2007 15:58

ok
Iliketosleep - try to put it out of your mind safe in the knowledge that all will be ok and nothing we do can influence the outcome, easier said than done..I recommend a 'luke warm' bath, cup of tea and chocolate
Brazilianmum I recommend returning email with a note - does it make you feel clever making a pregnant woman cry....
(only kidding but what a pratt). I recommend a similar treatment to Iliketosleep - the answer lies in chocolate and tea I think...
I have just had a bit of a cross situation with a friend, I think myhormones are raging and things that I normally let pass are seriously winding me up...chill pills all round for us ladies this weekend I think.

derah · 31/08/2007 16:01

Sorry about that BMum, he's probably just really stressed out with all the work he has to do and lashed out at you cos you were there. But it's Friday afternoon - we'll all be home soon!!

Iliketosleep - well, your doc probably couldn't tell you anything because he doesn't know himself. So many things can cause a bleed in pregnancy. I know it will drive you nuts waiting until Monday though. But it's probably good news that the bleeding has stopped. I think mc's go on for quite some time. I'll be thinking of you over the weekend.

Nearly home time nearly home time nearly home time nearly home time nearly home time nearly home time nearly home time nearly home time nearly home time nearly home time nearly home time nearly home time nearly home time nearly home time ... oooh, that was a little bit The Shining wasn't it?

Chocolate and tea all round it is!

preggersagain · 31/08/2007 16:07

is it time for bed yet???

i've just been woken up from a lovely dream- sitting at my desk!

good job i've got an office to retreat into! i cannot stay awake atm.

iliketosleep- did they say what would happen to the empty sac when you had the last scan? i'm guessing it can't stay in there throughout the pregnancy so that is the logical explanation for the bleeding- but over the weekend there isn't anything you can do, just relax, find a good book and curl up (with chocolate )

iliketosleep · 31/08/2007 16:37

i agree with the tea and chocolate, i think i deserve a nice box of belgian truffles im going to try and forget about it till monday, how i will do that i do not know but ill try!!

he basically said dont stand for to long dont lift anything heavy basically do the absolute bare minimum, which i have no objections too!!

he also said if i start to bleed heavy or pass clots or feel dizzy then to go to the hospital. Its strange, physically i feel fine if a little tired as i have been up since 4! I still keep getting waves of sickness and my boobs are still killing me so im going to take that as a good sign

and preggersagain they didnt say anything about the collapsed sac and despite me searching google i cannot find any info about this would have been nice though lol

glammama · 31/08/2007 21:03

Trying to watch the final of BB but I have been struck down with the worst pain. Feels like it's between my shoulder blades in my back, I think it's probably heartburn. DP just made me a glass of chocolate milk. Hope this helps it. It's horrible.

iliketosleep · 31/08/2007 21:07

oooh have you not got any rennies or gaviscon? poor you

glammama · 31/08/2007 21:31

I'll get some antacids tomorrow but I do have a Chinese/Thai which has just arrived. Not sure I can eat my lovely pad thai noodles though

PS BRIAN TO WIN!!!!!!

glammama · 31/08/2007 21:31

glammama · 31/08/2007 21:32
