Can't sleep so thught I'd catch up. Great to see eveeryone supportive and having similar symptoms
iliketosleer - I had 2 sacs also, one which stopped developing too. My pregnancy is through IVF (first try!) so the Dr/nurses were familiar with this. They say it just disappears and doesn't affect the other baby. Although mine stopped at 5 weeks, so I don't know what happens if it's later...thoughts def with you.
because of IVF, GP didn't know how to treat me, so now at 13 weeks and still not seen or heard from mw...should I bee worried, is there anything I should urgently know.
All is fine as had 10 week scan and heard heartbeat at GP other day.
Will try to sleep again now, anyone else having problems at night, any suggestions?

nikki35 · 01/09/2007 02:24

and I stayed up to watch BB final - 11pm, that's very late these days.

turtle23 · 01/09/2007 08:48

Is anybody else going to try for a home birth? My midwife has suggested going to hypnobirth classes, but unsure as I am a bit cynical about these kinds of things. Do any of you know about it?
Hope everyone is feeling better this morning. Sending hugs and chocolate brownies to you all (yes, i got up at 8 am to make them!! lol)

iliketosleep · 01/09/2007 08:50

im fine, i wasnt bleeding at all yesterday but still wore pants to be on the safe side. Woke up and have had a tiny bit of blood stained discharge, i dont know if thats a good or bad sign though Im keeping my chin up though

preggersagain · 01/09/2007 09:37

turtle- i'm having a home birth, refuse to go to hospital unless absolutely nescessary, i'm lucky because the community mw are all good friends so have arranged it amongst themselves around holidays etc so that there is no problem with staff shortages!!! planning on having my hot tub in the kitchen as a birthing pool- multifunction tub

gingercat12 · 01/09/2007 09:39

Is is a lovely day, so I hope, too, that everybody will feel a bit better.

Although I always feel much better when I can stay at home with my DH

turtle23 · 01/09/2007 09:42

preggers...did you have previous one(s) at home? Was very surprised that midwives were ecstatic to hear my plan. Thought they'd try to talk me into nasty old hospital for my first. Water birth sounds divine. Or a I just lusting after a hot bath?!lol

iliketosleep · 01/09/2007 09:49

i had my ds at home, it was much better than the hospital! alot more relaxed

preggersagain · 01/09/2007 09:52

i've had a home birth already, but we live in a very rural area so a large percentage of births (even first timers) are home births. transfer rate is far higher with your first though- bear this in mind and still pack a hospital bag just in case- if it comes to a transfer your dh will rush around throwing the most random and useless things into a bag!

We once had a transfer lady on the ward who's dh hade packed her bag as she was being loaded into the ambulance- she ended up with a rucksack containing:
nipple cream
a sparkly 'out on the town' top
flip flops
antiseptic cream
grobag
packet of baby wipes (he thought they were nappies!)

iliketosleep · 01/09/2007 10:32

lmao poor woman!!

bless my gorgeous little 6 year old dd, she knows mummy is a little bit poorly and is tidying the house for me [swelling heart emoticon] and doing a better job than me might i just add

iliketosleep · 01/09/2007 10:33

oh and also blitzed the big spider in the pile of washing i was dragging down the stairs, then tutted and looked at me as if to say "you big wuss!"

MerlinsBeard · 01/09/2007 11:12

Glamama, has your pain gone now?

If its stil there ring your MW ASAP please

monthlymayhem · 01/09/2007 11:50

Hello

Just trying to catch up on posts, I've been on a lovely relaxing holiday for two weeks. So sorry to hear all the bad news, big hugs to all of you.

Hello to all the newbies too

I've got my pre scan booking appt today and then my 12 week scan on Tuesday. Am feeling extremely nervous, as have continued to have absolutely no symptoms with the exception of sore boobs which are easing off now as well. Hoping I've just been very fortunate, but I still feel like a bit of a fraud compared to all of you who have been feeling so rough.

Hope everyone has a good weekend

derah · 01/09/2007 14:17

Turtle, I'm also planning a home birth, and I think there are quite a few of us here who are. I had a horrid time in hospital with DD so don't want to go there again!

Iliketosleep - aw, that's so sweet of your dd to help you clear up. My dd tries as well, but she's only 2 so hinders more than helps! Gotta encourage her efforts though. And you definitely need Belgian truffles.

Right, dd is off for a nap, so I'm going to have a quick rest then blitz the war zone that is our bedroom. I need to go up in the attic too, and put away all my regular tops and get out my maternity stuff - ack ack! I can't believe I'm only 12 weeks and so bulgy already. The nursery staff asked me if I'm pg yesterday when I picked up dd. The shame of being so lumpy!!

MM - I've got my scan on Tues as well; 9am. What time is yours? Glad you had a lovely holiday!

Hello all,

Thanks for your concern MOM. The pain didn't last long last night and I'm pretty sure it was heartburn. The chocolate milk seemed to really help. I have bought a bottle of hideous aniseed Gaviscon now just in case it recurs. I had this with DD and don't normally suffer with it and so was amazed all over agin at how painful it can be.
Hope everyone else is ok. We were going to see Surf's Up today but the mammoth shopping trip has left me whimpering and pale so I reckon we'll go tomorrow instead. DD and I are going to knit this afternoon instead. How lentilweavery are we?

MerlinsBeard · 01/09/2007 14:23

phew glammama!

monthlymayhem · 01/09/2007 17:52

Derah - I'm 9am too! Hopefully we can compare happy notes in the afternoon!

derah · 01/09/2007 18:07

YAY MM! Scans at the same time! I would say I'll be thinking of you but in my panic/excitement I don't think I'll have anything else on my mind! But we will compare notes when we get home.

do you think i would be being unreasonable if i were to ask dp to wait in the waiting room while i have my scan on monday? I dont know what it is but i feel very distant from him at the moment and as much as i want him to come with me i dont want him in the room during the scan or maybe im just a zitch [shocl]

iliketosleep · 01/09/2007 21:30

i meant

fitnforty · 01/09/2007 21:57

Turtle, I've asked for a home birth - midwife fine about it but has said the GP has to authorise it and I don't know at what stage that will/won't happen. Apparently if I get turned down for that I won't be able to go to the birthing centre either as it's the same criteria to meet. Just got to keep fingers crossed that I don't have any unforseen problems throughout the pregnancy!

Am also going to do hypnobirthing, got a course in Nov, once a week for 4 weeks and she only accepts a max of 3 couples per course so we don't have too many people there. It's pricey, but as with my desire to avoid the hospital, I want to avoid drugs as much as I can too

Iliketosleep - you've got to do whatever you feel most comfortable with and if that means making him sit outside then go for it.

derah · 02/09/2007 17:24

Fitnforty (and the rest of those planning homebirths) - you know, unless there's a really serious reason why you can't have a homebirth and you decide it's best to go to hospital, they really can't stop you! You just phone them when you're in labour, tell them you're staying home and they have to send a midwife. If you're at all uncertain about their reasons for not letting you have one, do your research and if you don't agree with them, have a homebirth anyway!

www.homebirth.org.uk is a brilliant webiste to find out about homebirths, and they have an e-mail group too - I get the digests and they're very helpful... all those messages from empowered mums who know their rights make me feel stronger are more determined to make sure I get what I want, not what's easier for the NHS!

lots to read, iliketosleep, will be thinking of you tomorrow xxx

good luck to all those of you who have scans this week.

i am finally not feeling sick most of the day, still a bit in the evening when i am tired. also my blood pressure is to low and i am feeling faint etc, sometimes its so bad that if i even turn me head when i am lying in bed then the room starts to spin.

going to the dr this wk to see if they have any suggestions.

14 plus 3 now, still no bump or anything, i have lost weight and some of my size ten jeans are fitting at the moment, including my fave pair from river island so thats a bonus i am enjoying whilst it lasts

derah · 02/09/2007 18:51

3MB - you're a size 10 with 3 kids and at 14 weeks!! !! I'm up to a size 14 and nothing fits without copious amounts of stretch and elastic! (sulks quietly.....)
