Blimey, where is everyone today?!! You've all been very quiet!

jetgirl · 06/09/2007 22:22

Iris - thank you for your kind words, it will make the remaining weeks go more quickly!

RG - your DS sounds very sweet.

Sparkly - I wish I was as sorted as you are, we have bought 1 outfit and got nothing down from the loft yet, I think I still can't quite believe we're near the end now

Pixie - your workplace sounds 'fun', though I imagine it must be quite rewarding at times.

LizzieO - we went for 2 years without a carpet too, we've had ours for 2 years now and I still enjoy walking on it just as much as I did the day it was fitted - what do they say about simple things pleasing simple people...

I cannot believe how tired I am after work today. It was the first full teaching day, and at the end I had 12 crates of stuff to unpack after the classroom moves which were enforced upon most departments over the summer. We also lost loads of storage space so I had to be really brutal and threw away tons of stuff. I am feeling more streamlined now though. When I got home at 6:15 I didn't move from the sofa until about 8. DH got DD ready for bed and cooked dinner which was nice as the most I could do was eat a packet of chocolate buttons! Feeling much better after spinach and ricotta pasta though.

jetgirl- work was good- really enjoyed it

Hi
Had my growth scan today, everything is fine, although it does have a big tummy and head (gulp!!). Weighs about 3lb atm (just 29 weeks), head size was 30 weeks 4 days!
Also had a really low GTT result , something that my diabetic Dad wishes he had.
Did my first days teaching this term (half a day really because of scan) and have just come back from my first pregnancy yoga class and am exhausted.

Pixiefish · 07/09/2007 07:40

glad everything allright Jossie

morning all

Jossiejump - great news that everythings ok with Lo (and GTT!)

RGPargy - doesn't matter how old they are they still make you go all gooey at their tenderness don't they DS is besotted with his big sis

I woke up really positive this morning after digesting all the comments I got from MWs on the Homebirth & UK Midwifery website. I've made a list of all the actual facts relating to the risks the consultants were banging on about and determined that my LO is at less risk than DS was. I shall ring the community MW later to make sure she understands that I still intend to have a HB. (and it feels so good!)

hope everyone has a good day (it's going to be sunny again )

Floanna · 07/09/2007 11:49

Morning all,

FCH - I've had such terrible heartburn all the way through that I went to my doctor about it. Ever since I've been on repeat prescription for 'Peptac' which is the (free for us!!) equivalent of Gaviscon. Now I just ring in and request a repeat prescription when I need it and it's been a life-saver - plus saved me loadsa dosh on Gaviscon!!

FCH · 07/09/2007 12:41

Hello Floanna - I have just been to my GP who has given me a peptac prescription - great minds obviously!!

In other news I have just managed to put a 3D scan picture on my profile - most exciting!

RGPargy · 07/09/2007 14:08

FCH - OMG, your 3D pic is amazing!!!!

Iris - Yes, he certainly knows how to put his mum round his little finger when he wants to!!

Another lovely day today!

I'm working all day tomorrow tho, which is a bummer, but i'm looking forward to getting a full day's pay at double time, plus my travel time at time and a half! Yay!!

sparklygothkat · 07/09/2007 14:19

HAve spend the morning cleaning, my downstairs now looks all shiny and clean. I even did under the sofas

I think DS2 might have engaged yesterday, it felt like electric shocks in my pelvis, and I could feel his head pushing down. I am able to breathe again and people have commented that my bump is very low today.. I hope this doesn't mean he will be coming soon.

littleoldme · 07/09/2007 14:27

LOL passed out in the bra shop this morning. Must have been the shock of going up to a 38 G !

FCH fab piccies. That's amazing

kekouan · 07/09/2007 15:34

Hi,
Sorry to butt in again

Erm.. has anybody had nasty pain under either of their ribs? It's fine at the beginning of the day, but gets worse when I eat or when I've been sitting at my desk. In absolute agony at the moment.

Doctor says it's a trapped nerve.

Sorry, just felt like a whinge

Floanna · 07/09/2007 16:07

FCH - that's great, I think you'll find it really helps! One small hint though, try not to take it too soon before bed as I have found on a couple of occasions that it can make my heart race ever so slightly so makes me feel a bit restless. Could be just me though. Good luck

silkcushion · 07/09/2007 17:40

KeKouan - I've had that when lying in bed at night. no idea what it is though!
FCH - lucky you to get such nice pictures. I wonder how much yr baby will look like that when it's born?

LizzieO · 07/09/2007 19:35

Evenin girls

what a gloriously sunny day its bin, did me 30 lengths at pool today (though was swimming in the slow lane and even the oldies were overtakin me

anyway my DH met me from work and did some lengths as well, we were having shower together...no no not like that it was the communal showers......when some absolutely stunning young thing in bikini came up and started showering right next to us... i must admit i did want the ground to swallow me up as i feel like such a big cumbersome old whale at the moment....but never mind....am sure to shrink to size skinny supermodel after LO comes out............errrrrr not !!!!

Kekouan - i get pain under ribs, with me tho' i think its LO little bony foot, if i stretch back so can massage under rib cage pain moves away ?!?! don't know but maybe worth a try

SGK - hold on tight honey, i feel like you tho' in that it could come at any time now

have bloomin good weekends everyone

Lxxxxx

littleoldme · 07/09/2007 20:45

SGk - Kim and Aggie would be proud.

Lizzie- Well done on the swimming. Don't be jealous of skinny young thing; she was probably in awa of your womanliness.

Have a splendid weekend one and all.

sparklygothkat · 07/09/2007 21:01

they would be very proud, I even cleaned the downstairs loo's sink taps!! I think I might be nesting Everything is finding a place.. I threw out 2 black bags of rubbish, and damp-dusted everywhere.
I have to tidy my bedroom, as atm all my clean washing is in the baby's crib.

I really think he has engaged now, as I can feel a pressure in my bottom (tmi) and it hurts when I walk in that area too.

jetgirl · 07/09/2007 21:04

FCH - what a brilliant picture!

In a fit of organisation we did the tesco shop as soon as we picked up DD from nursery so that we have the whole weekend to enjoy oursleves and relax. Hurrah for the weekend Have a good one all.

iris66 · 08/09/2007 06:27

ooh Sparkly - stop nesting and start resting! You can't have that baby yet. Take care and mnake sure you eat!

JARM · 08/09/2007 06:55

Morning all

Am moving house today, so wont be about for a while - BT better hurry up with my connection!!

Baby is keeping me awake now - is intent on 6am starts (just like DD1 then!) so not sleeping all that much!

Will hopefully be back online and ready to catch up in a week or so!

Take care all of you, and Sparkly - dont go having that boy yet!!!

sparklygothkat · 08/09/2007 08:52

still here, am sooooo tired though as I got woken up by Dd1's screaming and yelling this morning, which never puts me into a good mood. Why can't she just be quiet in the mornings, she is 7 now, but she has ADHD and CP, so will never happen.

aikigypsy · 08/09/2007 22:20

Lizzie -- I can totally relate to the of thin, svelte women. I never thought I'd feel this way, and it's not like I'd trade places with them or anything, but I keep seeing them and thinking, "My god! She's sooo thin!" and feeling vaguely jealous. Then I sort of shake my head at myself.

Just came back from another weekend excursion with DP. It was nice, but we're now back at his place which is the social hub for his group of friends. It now looks like he's going to be coming to join me soon after I head home, which I'm glad about, though I should be a bit more dissapointed about his not getting into college for this year. Really this will be much more relaxing for me, I think.

sparklygothkat · 08/09/2007 22:27

had a panic earlier, I started having contractions while at my aunt's wedding I had 4 in a hour and was a bit worried, so we came home, had lunch and then I went back to bed for a while to see if it eased, which luckily it did.

I did something silly at the reception though, I forgot that I wasn't allowed to have my 1 drink ration because of the diabetes, and only remembered when I had drunk 1/2 a bottle. Tested my blood when I got home a hour ago and they were ok.. phew..

Pixiefish · 09/09/2007 08:39

My flippin dishwasher went bang last night- wil have to go off today to get a new one. Sink and drainer are trendy round ones not designed for washing up- pah- should hav known better

Morning all,

These threads move so quickly, it is difficult to keep up.

LizzieO & Kekouan - I have been getting pains in my ribs too this week, generally by the end of the day, I thought it might just be the baby pushing things out.

I'm starting to get pretty tired these days and can't sleep well at all.

But yesterday we finished putting cartoon jungle animal wall stickers up in the nusery, just got to get the cot in and we are all ready for the baby. It looks so great - I am so excited.

Plus only Seven weeks and 3 days left of work!! Whooppeee!!

Hope all is well with everyone.

Enjoy your sunday.
