@peetieswie oh that is a difficult situation, I'm sure it will be hard to tell her. I have a friend who's been trying for years, I just sent her a text in the end so she could deal with it in her own way and so she didn't have to pretend she wasn't crushed in front of me.

@babymaher oh that's fab news! Such a lovely idea saving it to Xmas to tell your parents too! I wish I could have done that but I'll be 17 weeks by then and already feeling extra round 😂

RPPs · 02/12/2019 21:12

Evening All
Glad to hear scans are going well and sickness subsiding. Wee question for you, has anyone had a stitch type pain in the side? Im crippled with the pain tonight. According to my OH Google its just ligament stretching but this feels more like a constant stitch.

Hodge85 · 02/12/2019 21:52

@RPP, I get that, it comes and goes though. 12 weeks tomorrow and first scan is next Monday, super nervous xx

Lemonysherbet · 02/12/2019 22:50

@RPPs I've had it all day today! Hoping I wake up without it tomorrow

AmyMaria2 · 03/12/2019 00:41

@peetieswie that is a difficult situation, I've been in the situation your friend will be, we were ttc for a really long time & so many of my friends fell pregnant in that time, I dealt with it and was so happy for them after a while so hopefully she will be as well. Good luck x

@Babymaher congratulations glad your scan went well!! x

13+5

RPPs · 03/12/2019 07:17

@hodge85 and @Lemonysherbet thanks. Ive woken up without it. I probably ate to much dinner.
@hodge85 you will be grand. I was so nervous last week but as soon as you see your grown baby you'll forget everything else. Enjoy it and get your OH to video the scan screen if possible.

Lemonysherbet · 03/12/2019 07:45

@rpps I woke up without mine too :) sadly my sickness is back 😖 I wouldn't be so bothered if it wasn't so exhausting

Zoey92 · 03/12/2019 08:40

Lovely to hear about all your scans 😊I've got mine next wednesday

Mj2196 · 03/12/2019 09:27

Hi ladies I hope you don’t mind me joining currently 12weeks with baby no 2 .. if you don’t mind me asking how do those of you who have had miscarriages/ difficult journeys deal with the anxiety. It’s taken 2 years &2 losses to get here and I’m struggling. my 12week scan is on Thursday but I caved & had yet another private one on Sunday & everything looks ok so far but I’m in pieces over the tests etc worrying something will be wrong . Does anyone have an advice for a crazy lady ?😂 x

QforCucumber · 03/12/2019 17:10

@Mj2196 I have no idea. I've had a miscarriage and a TFMR, the 2nd was only in April. I walked into my scan today shaking. The nurse was amazing saw everything in my notes and knew my history, I didnt want to see the monitor until after she had said all was ok.

I've been moved from the 12+1 I thought to exactly 13 weeks. Due 9th June.

Ahhhh @QforCucumber thats a class photo. Look at the length of the legs. Enjoy the buzz.

AmyMaria2 · 03/12/2019 21:07

Good luck for your scan next week @Zoey92

@QforCucumber ah congratulations so glad your scan went well, that's a brilliant photo as well!! My baby wouldn't stay still long enough so photos weren't to clear x

13+6

BudgieBird · 04/12/2019 00:17

Had my scan yesterday and thankfully all seemed normal. The tech labeled the twins "Baby A" and "Baby B" and apparently they will be easy to tell apart from now on because the one currently closer to the cervix, A, will always be there. Those two tiny hearts are going around 155 bpm. Seeing the umbilical cords and the blood flow was really amazing. And they were moving around! I can't believe how active they were and of course I can't feel a thing yet! I'm just minding my business and they're kicking and doing flips. The babies actually look human-ish now, not just the blobs I saw in early weeks when the endocrinologist was making sure they'd implanted properly.

Of course, today I had to have sharp cramping throughout the day - I'm hoping it's just uterine growth/ligament stretching, or irritation from the ultrasound probe digging into my belly.

AmyMaria2 · 04/12/2019 07:02

Congratulations @BudgieBird I couldn't believe how active baby was considering we can't feel a thing! And since early scans they've definitely grown far more baby looking lol. Glad your scan went well, I'm sure your pains are irritation from the scan xx

peetieswie · 04/12/2019 07:43

Thanks for the advice about my friend. I'm seeing her weds for beer and carols and my scan is this Friday so should probably tell her then but I'm nervous in case she stops seeing me like she did with my other friend.

Can't wait for scan on Friday! So nervous too as if it's bad news I know I'll be devastated.

QforCucumber · 04/12/2019 10:10

@peetieswie I sent a text to my friend who is struggling, something along the lines of 'I know this will be bittersweet for you but we've had a scan today and I'm sharing with you both that DH and I are expecting a baby in June, I don't expect a response so please don't feel like you have to force any happiness our way - I just though it best to let you know now'

She replied that they're over the moon for us and that our situation is completely different to theirs (We have lost 2 babies, they have had 3 IVF tries and all failed) so they know what we too have been through.

Smiffette · 04/12/2019 11:07

My scan is in 3 hours and I'm feeling soooo anxious about it!! 😳 the morning has gone surprisingly quick so far but I'm getting myself worked up about stupid things like traffic and parking, which is notoriously bad at my local hospital. I'm already planning to leave 30 minutes before I should actually need to! I told my DH if we are there too early we will just have to get a cuppa in the cafe!

AmyMaria2 · 04/12/2019 13:29

@Smiffette good luck! Can't wait to hear about it xx

Smiffette · 04/12/2019 15:37

@AmyMaria2 thanks! All looked great and as it should be! Big relief!! 😊
Dated me a week ahead of my LMP date so now 13+2 with EDD 8th June!!

umabb · 04/12/2019 15:40

Hi ladies, I had been hoping to bring some good news to this threads too for my 12 weeks scan and im so pleased that I finally can do it now! Had a very thorough scan today (looked at heart, lungs, blood flow, bladder, stomach, nuchal.. and everything) and all look normal. I had not had good experiences with pregnancy before and this is really amazing for me and the husband. Wanted to share with you. Wish us all the best luck along the road xx

AmyMaria2 · 04/12/2019 18:05

@Smiffette @umabb ah what brilliant news so happy for you both. I'm 14 weeks today so not much difference!! Congratulations xx

Smiffette · 04/12/2019 18:51

@AmyMaria2 thanks!

I was pleased although the scan picture was pretty rubbish... I think I was spoilt with the quality of the private scan! Think I might have to book another 🙈

AmyMaria2 · 04/12/2019 20:39

@Smiffette my pics weren't very good as baby wouldn't stay still! I have my private gender scan on 22nd december but I really wanna book one inbetween now and then🤣xx

Smiffette · 05/12/2019 06:18

@AmyMaria2 aww that will be here quick!
I'm thinking of booking private gender/wellbeing scan on 4th January! so a few weeks before my NHS 20 week scan.

AmyMaria2 · 05/12/2019 06:42

@Smiffette hope so!! Yeah I just think it's such a long time between 12&20 weeks!! xx
