I haven't posted on here for a while - or maybe it's not been too long but it feels like time is standing still! I'm 9 weeks today. Three more weeks til my next scan but I think we're going to do the harmony test before then - anyone else considering it?
@HayleyD84 I'm so bloated! I had to buy some big jumpers and leggings as nothing is fitting me comfortably at the moment!

@RPPs I found out a few days ago that a colleague miscarried at 12 weeks. It's so scary and so sad. It really shakes you up too.

RPPs · 11/11/2019 12:32

Big bold personal question, but I'm going to go for it. Are you still having sex?

When we miscarried last year, we dated the stop in growth around the same weekend we took a flight and had sex. I was also sick with food poisoning that week too. And its unlikely that any of these caused the MC but my husband is quite fightened to try in the 1st trimester because of this. Even though everyone says its not an issue.
Just wondered how others are dealing with this.

AmyMaria2 · 11/11/2019 12:56

@RPPs we haven't had sex since We found out, I'm 10+5 today! Just been to scared too, I know it's supposed to be safe but I was waiting until 12 weeks and it isn't long now so he can wait a while longer! x

@Larrydavid what is the harmony test for again? You can find out the gender with that as well can't you? x

MsMiaWallace · 11/11/2019 14:42

We've been having sex but....apologies if tmi.... he's not been bashing my cervix Blush so to speak & mainly finishing off outside if you get what I mean!
Lol sorry but it had to be said!

I've got my booking in appointment tomorrow yay!

QforCucumber · 11/11/2019 15:16

@RPPs We are, no change at all, but tbf this is my 4th pregnancy, MMC at 8 weeks, DS, TFMR at 13 weeks then this one and have always continues to DTD throughout.

Smiffette · 11/11/2019 16:04

We've just been having sex as normal, regularly. No problem at all

RPPs · 11/11/2019 16:12

Thank you all for your honesty. I think I'll wait to get the 12 week scan under my belt. I had some spotting after last time after but didnt want to tell my DH because Id convinced him it would be fine.

Not sure I could let him near my boobs or sustain the motion whilst feeling this nauseous anyway. Don't think I felt this bad with the MM.

Zoey92 · 11/11/2019 16:55

I just dont know if im coming ir going one minute I'm ok the next its like i stepped off a rollercoaster 😂 im 8wks today.
Another TMI (or maybe not) question, has anyone had much discharge especially during the day? Like is that normal? Sorry im FTM 🤦‍♀️

AmyMaria2 · 11/11/2019 18:25

@Zoey92 I have, my midwife said it is totally normal. x

10+5

Lemonysherbet · 11/11/2019 18:26

I'm with the no sex crew but only because I've felt too sick or I'm in bed at 8!

@zoey92 oh yeh, crap loads of it, but not consistent just at random times. It's completely normal :)

I think, touch wood, my sickness is easing off a little. A week until my scan and I'm so worried already, my mind is playing on the "what if you've had an MMC" line and I wish it wouldn't. This is where Mumsnet and the internet are a downfall as they make you doubt things!

Zoey92 · 11/11/2019 18:46

@lemoneysherbet i totally get it, i felt like that last week too, boobs went totally fine and 0 nausea for 5days, an now im laying on setee feeling horrific!

As for discharge some days it ridic some days it has a slight colour, other none surely the slight colouring isnt normal 🤦‍♀️ i sound so thick but its all new to me

peetieswie · 11/11/2019 19:55

Same with discharge, just a little bit some days. Also not had sex since we found out, think husband feels weird about it. Have felt a bit bad and offered but he doesn't seem that fussed - we had sex loads while trying, maybe he's gone off it.

Been feeling so sick and tired today. Its hard to hide it from colleagues who don't know.

Zoey92 · 11/11/2019 21:00

I'm getting impatient for my scan its 4wks on weds 🙄 I'm debating going for a private one i just need put at ease abit

MrsD20 · 11/11/2019 21:06

Hi all,

I was going to ask you all about sex. We had sex the day I MC'd last year and I still worry this caused it, although everyone tells me it's ridiculous!

My husband however has gone back to being a teenage boy and won't leave me alone 🙈 I have put my foot down and said we're waiting but I just want to get it over with so he leaves me alone 😂

I'm glad a lot of you also feel bloated! I'm in agony in the mornings and have to force it out 🤣

Hope you've all had a great Monday ❤️ x

HayleyD84 · 11/11/2019 22:46

Hi all, OMG the thought of sex atm no no no, between the bloated, feeling sick, headaches, cramps etc I couldn't even consider it atm.

I'm confused though I'm not getting any discharge like everyone is saying they have? I'm totally dry nothing is that normal?

8+5

RPPs · 12/11/2019 06:32

@zoey92 I mentioned the discharge to my sister inlaw and she said oh yeah, you literally feel like a snail. Ha ha ha yes I do. Like you one morning I wiped and a small but was very pale green. Googled myself into a state, so I called the Dr, who by the way will call you back on the day if its anything pregnancy related. She saud urs probably fine but to be sure just do a home swab. The results were negative for any infection.
@HayleyD84 you could just contact you midwife or Dr. I'd say its fine. My friend never got CM even when she was ovulating. And I always have it so Im sure its nothing to worry about.

My OH seems happy enough to wait but I was climbing the walls, until the sickness came back.

Did anyone attend their booking apt without their OH. My Husband has a meeting in town so he's not sure he'll get back in time. Does he need to be there?

MrsD20 · 12/11/2019 06:42

@RPPs I went without DH 😊

Lemonysherbet · 12/11/2019 06:52

@RPPs I went without DH too.

RPPs · 12/11/2019 10:07

@MrsD20 @Lemonysherbet ok that's reassuring. We've got this girls.

QforCucumber · 12/11/2019 10:36

Never taken DH to a booking appointment, it's boring as hell as they will ask you questions about sexual health history and DV so midwives prefer they're not there.

Notnowokay · 12/11/2019 11:10

@RPPs the only booking appointment I took dh to, he was sent on a false quest while she asked me about any domestic violence and any previous abortions. It is boring and long but if you know his medical history and any relevant family history on his side about having deaf children and cleft lip. I think you should be fine. Thoes are the only two questions I remember from his side. Also if you had any sexual history you haven't told him, then be ready to answer them. Basically have you had any unprotected sex before or with someone high risk.

peetieswie · 12/11/2019 11:45

Was making my husband go with me because I'm scared of the blood test. Feel bad making him take time off work if it's pointless him being there though 😬

AmyMaria2 · 12/11/2019 11:52

My dp came to the first appointment, probably won't take him to the next, he didn't really need to be there x

QforCucumber · 12/11/2019 14:19

9+1 today.

Struggling with sickness and nausea at work. Want my bed.

RPPs · 12/11/2019 15:21

Thank you all, where would I be without you.

@QforCucumber have you tried acupressure bands? I got mine from Myrtle & Maude on Amazon. They work so well, when Ive taken them off I feel it instantly.
