Happy Birthday MrsS!!
Aren't blokes adorable when they get all soppy!?
Not so adorable when they don't pamper you properly on your Birthday though, but hey-ho.

growingbagpuss · 17/07/2007 11:30

Happpy Birthday MrsS! We'll have to have a bit of cake tomorrow!!

Up now- just feel like I'm on night duty all the time - actually perhaps I should make more use of my tme at night, and do the ironing or something?

Mrsshuvel · 17/07/2007 11:30

Thanks everyone.

Is anyone else suffering from elephantankleitis in the warmer weather today? I can't do the straps up on my shoes. Can't put my feet up as my desk has a back to it so have put the fan on the floor under the desk to see if that helps.

Mrsshuvel · 17/07/2007 11:31

Ooooh cake - fab idea Bagpuss!

tokentotty · 17/07/2007 12:09

Happy Birthday MrsS !!!!!! Deffo cake required tomorrow...well everday if I'm honest but especially tomorrow.
Am VERY afflicted with elephantitis of the ankle is really quite horrendous too. Oh, and have chubby hands to match. Glad I'm no longer at work for them to see this !

oddly - no cankles here - did last time with DS, but my stomach is speedily beginning to resemble that picture someone found..... uh oh....

bananabump · 17/07/2007 12:31

Ok, bag is packed (minus vanishing breastpads and camera)

You're allowed to come out now, baby!

growingbagpuss · 17/07/2007 13:07

Just defrosted f/f. now I can relax, and go into labour knowing that DH will be able to get the icecubes out of the drawer without swearing.

That would require me filling up the icecube trays.... perhaps I'll just buy some ice lollies instead. Rather like the fruit pastille ones... yummy..

Any flavour cake in particular MrsS? Are we allowed to know how old you are?

growingbagpuss · 17/07/2007 13:14

Oh damn - just found someone using the name "bagpuss" - what the heck am I going to call myself once the LO pops out?! ??!!

aaaahhh!!!! - - we need to think about whta we are going to be called once we aren't pg!!! some can stay the same, but me, pink, Babymad..erm (who else?) are going to need name changes... I am sad aren't I?

Pengy · 17/07/2007 13:26

Well done Banana. Still haven't achieved much today as spent couple of hours on phone to family in NZ. In-laws also due to arrive in 2.5 weeks from NZ for 2 months, Hmmm. I hope they cope with me being quite 'directive'.

Happy birthday MrsS, hope your DP has something up his sleeve for tonight! Congrats on your window Growing, fingers crossed.

My rack of baby clothes drying look sooo cute, even took a photo! Must start sorting into sizes.

What type of mattresses have everyone gone for? Advice please. Unsure if spending more actually makes much difference.

SweetyDarling · 17/07/2007 13:36

Bagpuss I might change to sweatydarling? SleepyDarling?

myweegirl · 17/07/2007 13:39

hi everyone - happy birthday MrsS. think i've eaten enough cake for everyone one due in august . enjoy your meetup tomorrow and look forward to the pictures.

conker - there's another difference between our parentcraft classes. we were told that they didn't do tours anymore .

I had MW yesterday, head is 5/5 engaged, which shocked me a bit as I thought that didn't happen 2nd time round until labour actually started? for those that are non-first timers do any of you have any experience of this? so I suppose that could mean that LO could arrive anytime (knowing my luck will be very overdue this time).

SweetyDarling · 17/07/2007 13:43

Pengy, haven't really got around to getting a cot/mattress yet as have a moses basket and an Amby Nest for the first few months - MIL wants to buy us a cot further down the line so will choose something fabulously expensive!
Do baby clothes really need to be washed before use?

Babylovesmuffins · 17/07/2007 13:54

3 days to go!! 3 days to go!!

Hi all. Bit hectic this week as I've realised how much I need to do before I finish up at work so I'll probably not be on MN much.

Happy Birthday Mrs S! I'll have some cake in your honour too.

Mum2George - I'm also "recovering" from a UTI so you have my every sympathy. Have you been prescribed antibiotics? I was a bit about taking them during pregnancy but apparently the ones I was given (Amoxycillin) are safe and if I didn't take them there was a risk of kidney infection or premmie labour - still don't feel as if things have completely cleared up but I'm drinking gallons of cranberry juice and water just in case. Had to drop off (another) urine sample at the Dr's this morning for more tests...

Growingbagpuss - that's great on the Homebirth - I hope it all goes ahead as you want it to.

Annie - still keeping my fingers crossed that your LO turns but as you say, it's still highly likely you can have a vaginal birth. It seems to be that a lot of hospitals are allowing mums to take control in the delivery room, as long as everything is running smoothly. Have a funny feeling that this LO has turned again, as everything feels different but I'll find out next week no doubt.

Pengy - sorry to hear that you had a scare but glad everything's ok.

Mrsshuvel · 17/07/2007 14:00

Oooh any cake will do me at the moment, just had a lovely M&S strawberry tart mmmmmm.

I ordered
this cotbed and this mattress but only orderd the expensive one because DP gets points when he sells a motorbike on finance and we can turn the points into John Lewis vouchers . (anyone want a motorbike? I need a new microwave ). Not sure if this particular mattress is really any better than the cheaper ones though.

conkertree · 17/07/2007 14:00

yes my weegirl - i was told the same by my midwife in kilsyth, but then last night they said that was part of the class so off we all trooped.

The only thing that worries me slightly is the heat - i cant stand too much heat so hopefully will have time to pack a flask of ice cubes before we go.

bananabump · 17/07/2007 14:03

Hmm, names for after the baby....

BananaMamma?
Bananaboobs? (well, they aren't yellow but they're getting rather long)
BananaHammock?

heh, that's just rude.

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 17/07/2007 14:08

Hi everyone -
congrats on your HB window bagpuss!

Also " Happy Birthday" Mrs S, def some cake tomorrow!

Im bloody knackered today, Put up new wardrobe in Ds room last night so baby can have his old one,so this morning has been spent at sainsburys getting some shopping, Home Base for an extra rail for the wardbrobe as putting it half way down so hopefully DS will be able to get his own School uniform out in september when im runnig round the house like a mad women trying to get the 3 of us out the door buy 8.30. I then (all by myself) put the rail in - tidyed and had big clear out of ds room, had Lunch, taken him to pre school where i had to tell him off for being mean to someone and then left him crying as he wanted to come home, i said NO! ( only upset as he had been told off!) -
Then back to clear the mess in ds room, and now i have 10 min before waxing and then back to pick him up!!!! I will sleeep well tonight!

See all you ladies (that are able to come) tomorrow Morning, 10.30 outside marks! (on the inside) xx

Babylovesmuffins · 17/07/2007 14:12

Pengy - I bought this cot-bed mattress and this moses basket mattress

No particular reason for choosing either of these apart from that they both have removable covers for washing and they're both hypoallergenic (I have eczema and asthma in my family, so just in case!!).

Mrsshuvel · 17/07/2007 14:16

bananaboobs made me lol hahaha

Make sure you save some energy for tomorrow Pink, you've worn me out just reading about wardrobes etc!

JSer · 17/07/2007 14:18

hullo all...i'm getting jealous of everyone finishing work now! I've still got 3 1/2 weeks of work and finding it harder and harder to concentrate. Went to Bristol for 2 days of meetings last week (about 300 miles from where I live!). the meetings went well and that was my last bit of travelling for work so am relieved to have it out the way. I had my first handover meeting to my mat cover yesterday. Despite my initial worries it went well and i'm glad it's been sorted in time for us to have a few more meetings before I finish.

Work on the house is progressing. have been painting and plastering all weekend = got my sister involved too who came up from London for the w/e! She had to earn her keep that's for sure.

Also been eating lots of cake - but ice cream is my favourite (and I was never that bothered about it before) Also really liking those crushed ice-coffee type drinks you can get - like slush puppies for grown ups!

Sorry got nothing interesting to say really but didn't think i should lurk for any longer with out contributing! Hope you have fun at bluewater tomorrow. I had a quick peek at the July thread and they'd had 3/4 babies by this date in June!! Are we all destined to be here forever - I can't wait to hear live birth stories from everyone here!!

growingbagpuss · 17/07/2007 14:38

i was thinking of... ...

Mrsshuvel · 17/07/2007 14:39
