My mum went into a mothercare today and they had an icandy Orange on offer for £800, but they only had 1 carrycot in the store and I would need the 2. She asked the manager for further discount and she knocked another 100 off making it £700 for a brand new icandy tandem and mum even offered to pay for it. But I said no thanks and they it was too much money to just get without seeing/testing it. I'm more than happy with a second hand one that does actually come with 2 carrycots!.
BUT it does show that you can try an haggle a further discount on something in mothercare. I know they are closing alot of their stores so it's always worth having a look and asking about money off the pram you want!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/03/2019 08:07

Never would of thought of haggling in mothercare!

Fortheloveofscience · 24/03/2019 11:28

Hi everyone, just dropping in as not posted for a few days. I’m not going to even think about pram shopping until after 20 week scan, but when I do I need to remember to come back and read this!

Finding this bit quite hard, 14+3 no real bump no movements and struggling to believe there’s actually something in there. Bought a bundle of maternity clothes on eBay but feel like a fraud because I’m still pretty comfortable in my normal jeans.

Megan2018 · 24/03/2019 11:32

@Fortheloveofscience
You are not alone! I have a small bump, but not noticeable really under clothes. Wearing maternity jeans to ride in as jods don’t fit but all my other normal clothes do.
Don’t feel pg at all so very anxious if she is still growing Sad
Long wait until scan, currently 15+3

kyles101 · 24/03/2019 11:37

Oh, forthelove you are so not alone... I just keep thinking (sorry for everyone that feels rubbish) i just feel too normal to be pregnant... although my normal jeans definitely do not fit!
To put my mind at rest I booked a private scan yesterday, it was wonderful, even though the little money had their back to us the whole time 🙄
I think even I can hold out until the 20 week scan now - 3 weeks tomorrow!

TwittleBee · 24/03/2019 12:00

My bumps gone again! So I know what you mean. I've gone back into non maternity wear at 15 weeks and with my sickness having dried up again I feel very non pregnant (apart from my A cups now being DDs!)

StarLight10 · 24/03/2019 12:49

Oh I'm so glad I came back to this thread.
I've been so stressed this week that I have no bump now (whatever I had before was bloat!) and I did by 14 weeks with previous pregnancies. My sickness has gone. Can't feel any movement at all.
Glad to hear I'm not alone, might book an extra scan in but I've got a consultant appointment next week who most likely needs to scan me so will hold off.

I can't wait until we are all complaining about our giant bumps in the summer Grin

Fortheloveofscience · 24/03/2019 13:34

So glad it’s not just me! Thank you Smile. I’ve got my 16 week appointment in just over a week and will be gutted if she won’t listen for a heart beat. I’ve tried to google to see what happens in my Trust but can’t find anything. 20 week scan in 5.5 weeks seems AGES away!

Thought about having a private scan but we had one at 8 weeks and it was a horrible environment so I know I couldn’t deal with getting bad news there.

iano · 24/03/2019 14:31

I'm so sorry @heather88! Sending you lots of love. Flowers

iano · 24/03/2019 14:36

I feel a bit bad for dipping in and out of the thread. I don't seem to be able to keep up. I keep meaning to post and then things have moved on by the time I get to it. I hope people don't mind me semi lurking and only making the occasional comment.

Does anyone have hay fever? What can I take? I suffer quite badly but didn't have any with my first pregnancy. Very snotty and sneezy this time around so I'd be grateful for ideas.

My bump didn't seem to grow last week and I was convinced it had shrunk. I went back into pre-pregnancy jeans for a day or two. Then I woke up 4 days ago and now look about 6 months gone at 15 weeks.

iano · 24/03/2019 14:40

On the subject of prams: i had a second hand icandy last time (cheap from a friend) and honestly can't recommend it. The hood doesn't go far down enough so baby has the sun in their face when sleeping. The handlebar broke (common issue) and it was a mare to get them to fix it. Maybe I was unlucky. We got rid off it in the end as it was driving us both nuts.

boodles101 · 24/03/2019 14:51

Well my bump had certainly popped over the last 2 days. I'm wondering if it's cos I've now told work and my DH put it on social media, everyone knows so I've now relaxed, breathed out and it's gone pop.
Feeling quite self conscious about it actually. With DS, I embraced the bump and felt amazing. This time I just know it's going to be huge as it's making me feel quite awkward!

Megan2018 · 24/03/2019 15:42

One thing that has improved for me I’ve realised is the last few days I can drink water again. Have really struggled with fluid intake up until now as it all tasted odd and made me feel strange. I used to drink lots pf water before pg and found it hard drink anything much at all.
Have had 4 pints water today without issue! Feel much more “me”. Is this bad though?!

stormtrooperjulian · 24/03/2019 16:13

@Megan2018 I’ve felt pretty much normal again for the past week or so, it’s nice, I even had the energy to go out for a nice dinner with DH on Friday evening for the first time in a couple of months!

I can’t believe how organised you all are thinking about prams already!

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/03/2019 17:13

I feel huge!

I seem to have developed sciatica to go with my spd

TheCraicDealer · 24/03/2019 18:32

Speaking of prams, went to a nursery store yesterday and the woman we were talking to was saying that Bugaboo are changing how they package their prams so you won't be able to customise new orders the way you can atm. I assume you'll be able to buy extra/new hoods etc as and when but you won't be able to "create your own" bundle like you can now.

We've pretty much decided on a Fox so I hope she was talking shite tbh.

kyles101 · 24/03/2019 19:02

@TheCraicDealer I think a lady I was talking to was saying something similar... there used to be thousands of combinations but they've put together 3 or 4 themes they think work now or something? But then you pick the hood colour?

firstbabybean · 24/03/2019 19:20

@TheCraicDealer I bought a Bugaboo Fox a few days ago and I love it! I’ve been merrily wheeling it around my living room. I got it from Bournemouth baby centre - highly recommend, next day delivery and they have a 10% off promo. I know the bugaboo website still lets you build your own fully customised, no idea if they will stop this though, seems a bit odd?

Hsunshine · 24/03/2019 19:34

@fortheloveofscience I am almost 17, and same, no bump, my clothes still fit no symptoms. Had a scan on Friday though and all is looking good

Karigan195 · 24/03/2019 19:35

For the love of cheese when will this morning sickness end!

17+3 and just been sick three times in between lunch and dinner! Didn’t have this with my first and I do not approve!

excitednerves · 24/03/2019 20:12

I had a major wobble about not feeling pregnant a couple of weeks ago but now almost 17 weeks I am firmly in maternity jeans and dresses. Some tops still fit but there’s a small but definite bump there now. I had lunch with a friend on Saturday who mentioned it too (even though I thought I was having a slim day! Ha!)

I guess we should be enjoying our slim bodies but I’m so ready for a lovely big bump!

excitednerves · 24/03/2019 20:16

On a separate note, had my consultant scan on Friday who confirmed I have a short cervix after surgery so now on progesterone and extra regular check ups for the foreseeable. Really do not want a stitch so praying my body holds up as baby grows. Have to go back in 3 weeks to check it’s not getting any shorter. Sad

kyles101 · 24/03/2019 21:03

My back is broken.

maddiecxx · 24/03/2019 23:53

So girls recently I’ve been getting this pain under my left boob kind of in my ribs and in my boob, but mainly ribs, it’s like a really sharp shooting pain whenever I move and especially when I breathe in, it’s so bad it literally paralyses me for a few minutes I sit there and can’t move, and then I feel something crack or like pop and the pain goes??? Please tell me this is normal? I’ve read it could be gas but it happens way too often for it to be gas? I also thought it could be the strain from my boobs getting bigger? I’ve gone from a 32B to a 34D? Or could it be everything moving up there? Thank you all x

GemmaJen · 25/03/2019 06:22

@Fortheloveofscience I've gone from fitting in my jeans to not being able to do the button up in less than a week and can no longer suck in the belly if that makes sense, lol. Hope the maternity jeans arrive today 🤞

Had a scan yesterday, aiming to find out the sex, but no luck. We have a very wriggly little bean who was using every tactic to keep their legs firmly crossed 😁 We didn't mind, it was so lovely to watch them bouncing around, they look completely different to the 12w scan, I couldn't quite believe it. Though they look a lot more like a frog than a baby! 🐸 😊 Sonographer kept commenting on their huge feet and hands and excessively long legs. Going to be a tall one!
