@ReginaPhalange89 it’s just a blood test I have between 15/16 weeks it think she said I have to wait for a letter and it only test for downs, but I have a consultant appointment before so going to speak to him also!

I’m feeling okay now I’ve chilled it about Anne just happy baby was okay, just stubborn like me 😂xx

BirthdayKake · 16/01/2019 14:37

Omg Regina I read that as 6 months and 22 months!! Was going to say you're very brave haha

ReginaPhalange89 · 16/01/2019 14:44

Haha @birthdayKake I can't even imagine falling pregnant with a tiny baby . I'm gonna tell my OH he's getting the snip after this one 😂

FuzzyPixel · 16/01/2019 14:47

Oh goodness. Is it crazy to hope we can have a really teeny age gap? My husband's surgery may only be effective for 18 months, so by the time we've had a baby, we will possibly only have six months to try for the next!

BeckyButterfly · 16/01/2019 15:09

@Capybaras I’ve been getting achy hip pains through the night for a while now! And I have a history of sciatica in my back which I keep feeling a twinge of!! I’m going to be great fun through this pregnancy 😂

ReginaPhalange89 · 16/01/2019 15:14

@FuzzyPixel I think two little ones would he hard work but if it's all you know you'd probably be fine !
I always wanted a 2 year gap but it didn't work out for me so it was almost 5 years. But it was actually a nice gap because I had loads of time with my eldest, then she started school while I was on mat leave so lots of one on one with the baby.
This time I feel is going to be mental and there'll be 2 years 4 months between them.

Jxtina86 · 16/01/2019 15:39

There was talk a while back of those with pelvis pain - can I ask if anyone has pain in their bum/upper back of thigh? I've only got it on one side - no pain in groin or lower back but never had anything like it. It came on last week and was manageable but it's really increased severity this week. It's like I've done too many one legged squats! PGP or sciatica seems to be the logical conclusion but no idea what either can feel like so blindly guessing. Is midwife the best person to speak to (appt next Tuesday) or try and get a GP appt?

HchyScott · 16/01/2019 16:05

I’ve had sooo much pressure from my boss regarding maternity leave, she asked for
My Matb1 2 weeks ago and acted like I was being a pain not giving it to her. Ended up explaining and having an argument about it, as my boss she should’ve done her research first! I know we are a small business (4 of us work in the hairdressers) but all the info she needs is online rather than hounding me, it’s been really upsetting but luckily has been fine so far this week.

I wanted to work up to two weeks before edd but they have all put pressure on me at work to leave before. I understand their concerns as it’s a physical job on my feet all day and with it being summer I might struggle but If I leave earlier I’d need to use my annual leave which works out as 5 weeks worth. Can my boss refuse to let me add it on to the beginning of my maternity leave? I know it’ll be financially difficult for her to pay me full pay for my annual leave then as both other stylists have booked al in the 5 weeks before my due date!!!!
@Jxtina86 id read it’s illegal to pay you your minimum annual leave allowance? Just double check that.

All so so stressful when I shouldn’t be worrying about it yet 😞

Jxtina86 · 16/01/2019 16:16

@HchyScott the statuory thing is what my DH thinks they might do - I'd still get the remainder but as actual annual leave on full pay rather than the bulk payment IYSWIM. Nothing confirmed or even discussed yet though so who knows what work will suggest but I'll be making I get my full entitlement one way or another! That's not great of your boss re your matb1 - technically you don't have to inform your employer until 15 weeks (or so?) before your edd which I imagine is why you don't get your matb1 until after 20 weeks.

Onestep2 · 16/01/2019 16:27

@AIDE2424 I was disappointed after 12 week scan too as baby wouldn't sit still for a photo. Ended up moaning face off of DH that much he took me for another private scan lol

As for mat leave. I can apply for my mat leave to start anytime in the 4 weeks b4 baby due date. Planning on starting mat leave 2 weeks b4 due date and have a good bit of annual to play about with b4 then. Will have 9 months off on mat leave then a full 30days annual leave to take within 3 months of return from mat leave. So plan is to do a 3 day week for 10 weeks. (If my work allow it)

HchyScott · 16/01/2019 16:37

@Jxtina86 ah I see, as long as you know you get what you’re entitled in the end 😊.

Honestly it’s been horrible, I feel like a total burden as it plus keep getting the same remarks from the two other stylists regarding changes within the business “ it won’t matter to you, you won’t be here anyway!” Plus other digs as you can imagine. Not nice.

Trying2bemum · 16/01/2019 16:43

Chinks so glad to hear your scan went well, and glad your best friend went with you xxx

Welcome new joiners 👋🏼

Beautiful picture Beckybutterfly!

Hope baby plays ball at the next scan aide!

We had our dating scan today (am 13 weeks today) and all was well. It was amazing, really emotional. Could see baby clearly moving around, stretching their legs and waving. So in love.

They did the neck fluid measurement and said it looked fine, so just have to wait for blood test results now.

Ahh this is just so amazing. After three years TTC and three ivf cycles I thought this would never happen to me!

BeckyButterfly · 16/01/2019 16:45

@Trying2bemum aww I’m so pleased all is well and you had a good scan! It is the most amazing feeling. I keep thinking back to seeing the little one wiggling around on the screen and sucking it’s thumb, I forget sometimes that it’s inside of my tummy!

MakeAWhish · 16/01/2019 16:47

@Jxtina86 I have PGP as diagnosed by gp on Monday. Excruciating pain from top of bum cheek all the way down leg. Can't sit down can only stand up or lie down (on side with cushion between legs) You need to rest it for at least a week for symptoms to die down, and take paracetamol. It's horrible, I sympathise. Xx

ReginaPhalange89 · 16/01/2019 16:54

@HchyScott they have to pay you for your annual leave whether you take it or not , you're entitled to it so I'd tell them you're either taking it immediately before mat leave or I'd use it up before hand ! Surely if they're pressuring you to go off earlier they'll be fine with you taking it? Sounds like your boss doesn't have a clue , make sure you read up on everything so you know your rights ! And you can always ask places like citizens advice etc if you think they're not doing things properly

HchyScott · 16/01/2019 17:02

@ReginaPhalange89 I have been doing lots of reading up as have my family as they’ve been so cross with the pressure I’ve been put under. Yeah the reason I wanted to add it to it was because obviously al is full pay so if I can have the time off right before Mat leave I’m better off financially. I guess once the 20 week scan is done I’ll ask her and if she doesn’t allow it I’ll have to take it in between Feb and June! X

Trying2bemum · 16/01/2019 17:12

Thanks @BeckyButterfly xxx I know exactly what you mean - when you can see it it feels real but as soon as the magic scanner stops it's like where's the baby? 😂

ReginaPhalange89 · 16/01/2019 17:49

@HchyScott you'd think it'd be more sensible for them to let you do it , especially if they're going to have to replace/cover you , it'd be easier for them to have a date rather than you spreading 5 weeks holiday out over a few months surely

BeckyButterfly · 16/01/2019 18:06

@Trying2bemum I feel the same! I keep looking at the picture to remind myself of what the bean looks like now. I’m 13 weeks today as well so are you due the 24th of July?

Trying2bemum · 16/01/2019 18:08

@BeckyButterfly yes! Due 24 July ☺️☺️☺️ I keep looking at the pic too, it's little face looks so serious 💛

Trying2bemum · 16/01/2019 18:09

@BeckyButterfly this is bizarre I think you have the same birthday as me too - 19 December? I'm older than you though

cravingmilkshake · 16/01/2019 18:19

@Trying2bemum @BeckyButterfly another 24th July here and another December birthday (15th for me) though.

Trying2bemum · 16/01/2019 18:24

@cravingmilkshake 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

BirthdayKake · 16/01/2019 18:24

Regina I know how you feel. DH said to me last night with a grin "Omg, what if after you have the baby... You get pregnant again?"

I just sort of glared at him! Tbh though, if it wasn't for the sickness I'd have 6/7/8 children if I could.

BeckyButterfly · 16/01/2019 18:31

@Trying2bemum yes, 19th of December! That is crazy!

And @cravingmilkshake the 24th of July is a busy day. My step-mum’s birthday is the 15th of Dec.

We have loads of December birthdays in my family so that is the month I aimed to avoid when we were planning a family. Didn’t need any more expense in that month!
