Just because I think we’re getting close to filling the first one. Pull up a pew, bring your decaf tea and all of the carbs!

Toria73 in my nct class with my first, three if the parents had minis (what are the chances) - they all said "no we're definitely keeping the mini" but within a couple of months of baby being born they'd all traded them in!!

We now have a passatt and roof box for one child and one dog...God knows where we'll put another child!

DianaBlythe · 15/11/2018 21:06

Oh @Toria73, what a surprise! Lovely to hear a little run of good news for lots of people!

Saw the midwife this morning. All very routine and lots of form filling but she was lovely and she did book my 12 week scan while I was there. It’s the week before Christmas - so pleased with that! Just need to get to that point!

Oh man, so what comes first? Choose a car that will fit chosen double buggy or choose the buggy to fit the car? This is the stuff that I didn’t think about when opting for 2 embys to be implanted. All I was thinking was that on the random chance both took it would be nice for them to have each other as I’m an old first timer. I knew I wouldn’t sleep until at least 2025 but hey I survived years without sleep in the 90s & there was alcohol & all sorts taken then. I knew I’d be skint but am now after ivf costs but I figured I’d save some pennies by breastfeeding but I have 2 boobs so all good there...
fuck, I think I’m going to spiral into a panic if I don’t give myself a stern talking too...

TwittleBee · 15/11/2018 21:37

I have a Nissan Micra and cope okay with DS, pram goes in boot and still have room for shopping! Now stressing about fitting another baby in there after seeing all this car talk lol!

Bless you being worried but also a massive congrats! Toria73 ! I think you're first one with confirmed twins in the group (correct if I'm wrong!)

DartmoorDoughnut · 15/11/2018 21:57

@Toria73 the Out n About is an awesome pushchair and they do a double, two friends of mine who had their first two close together both had it. It folds up pretty small and is lightweight to steer. One thing I would say about pushchairs is to check eBay, you can get an utter bargain secondhand!

Toria73 · 15/11/2018 21:58

@twittleBee if you manage fine with a micra, I’m thinking that if either numero uno or duo don’t make it the whole way I should be ok w the mini for a bit.
There’s bound to be more twosomes in this group, just too soon to tell. If there isn’t, do I get kicked out for being an overachiever??

TwittleBee · 15/11/2018 22:03

Oh yeah think there is something like 2% chance of twins or something so we should have at least 1 more set of twins based on that I reckon Toria73 ! Least you can start thinking and prepping early for 2 I guess! And I back DartmoorDoughnut suggestion for 2nd hand! We got our pram for £40 from Facebook's marketplace, bargain as retailed at £650 new.

Toria73 · 15/11/2018 22:04

@DartmoorDoughnut, thank you for that, I’ll scribble that down for future ref. I’m not making any decisions or buying anything apart from prenatal vitamins & bras (already gone from 34ff to 36g in the last 2 weeks) until the new year when hopefully I’ll be in my second trimester & can actually say the p word without worrying about tempting fate.

StargazyDrifter · 15/11/2018 22:33

How lovely to see an abundance of good news on here. And TWINS! Exciting.

For those waiting for more scans - we don't worry about things twice, remember! I know, easier said than done.

Feeling really really exhausted today. Working week has been really full on, long hours plus the sort of complicated stuff to work through that my brain simply can't take in at the moment. Tea and coffee rationing also doesn't help. I'm definitely very grumpy. There was a serious display of 'manspreading' on the tube today and I very nearly gave him a piece of my mind, which is very out of character. Mercifully for both of us the journey was only short. In happier news, my 'baby on board' badge arrived today. Got me stupidly excited.

My reassurance scan is on Monday and MW appointment is on Wednesday. Can't wait.

On booking appointments - what sort of thing will they want to know about DH? He's probably not going to make this one.

KinCat · 15/11/2018 23:20

Ooo twins! So exciting! Congratulations Toria73. I'm a twin and would love two s myself but think the chances of that would be low!

Toria73 · 15/11/2018 23:49

Thanks @KinCat. You never know, I know of twins who have gone on to have twins themselves so you might be genetically predisposed to them. I did ivf but there are twins in the family so who knows what might have happened if I had conceived naturally.

ReginaPhalange89 · 16/11/2018 01:10

@stargazydrifter I'm sure last pregnancy all they asked about my OH was if he's from the UK and if there are any medical conditions on his side of the family ! They didn't ask a lot actually, he didn't come to any mw appts , just the scans

Laburna · 16/11/2018 05:48

I've got mine this morning @stargazydrifter so I'll let you know what you need to know! Can't remember from last time 🤷🏻‍♀️

KinCat · 16/11/2018 05:53

Toria73 me and my sister are identical which doesn't have a genetic component, just pure luck. I can still hope though!

Argh we just had a big team discussion about how busy we're going to be next summer because of a heap of new clients they're taking on. Felt a little bad nodding along to my director saying "so we're all going to have to put in maximum effort and sacrifice some time". I know I'm getting ahead of myself stressing about it, I hate letting people down though.

StargazyDrifter · 16/11/2018 06:01

Thank you ReginaPhalange89 and Laburna.

Happy Friday everyone!

TwittleBee · 16/11/2018 06:02

Oh bless you, I know how you feel with that KinCat which is why I'll be telling my work after my next scan in a weeks time. I know our work load is going to sky rocket next year as we've secured a very large client. Any chances you feel like you'd be able to do the same?

Morning sickness again. Bleurgh. Also been up since fricking 4am again. Bleurgh.

Kentishgal · 16/11/2018 07:07

You all get up super early! I'm impressed! I had a bit of insomnia from about 3am but still couldn't face actually getting up!

Torus73 it'll all work out - and how exciting in the meantime.

Right I'm making a gp appointment this morning to put my mind at rest!

itsallgreek · 16/11/2018 07:25

Morning ladies.....

Ohhhhhh twins how exciting.... @Toria73 I hope everything goes great with both of them...

On the vivid Dream theme... Last night I dtd with Cristiano ronaldo in a outdoors restaurant booth.... The restaurant was open ShockBlush

Laburna · 16/11/2018 07:45

I'm so jealous of all your crazy sex dreams....in a way. I'm not sure I'd want to dream about Christiano Ronaldo @itsallgreek but it's better than vivid dreams about libraries and washing up!

Brainfried1986 · 16/11/2018 07:49

Morning all!

On the twins front I think we had 2 sets of twins on my last bus, and that’s out of about 85 ladies, so pretty close to the 2%!

Glad to hear I’m not the only one spending a lot of time at home with dc1... so tired all the time 1 trip out each day is all I can hack at the mo! Going to get him weighed at the healthy baby clinic today so might stop off at the park on the way home and redeem myself as a mother!

As far as cars go we had a Yaris before ds, and upscaled to an Octavia a few months later - it’s AWESOME! So much boot space too so we’ll all fit when we’re a foursome. Biggest problem is that I have to park right next to a hedge so going to struggle with getting 2 children in every time we go anywhere... tomorrow’s problem!

Pregnancy is feeling pretty sucky at the mo. I think the ‘feeling thirsty but everything I drink tastes like my throat is lined with single cream’ thing can be categorised as the 7th circle of hell. And if I don’t find some food I can actually enjoy soon I’m going to cry (food is my world...). So far apple turnovers don’t make me feel awful, and sometimes mini cheddars taste ok. 😭😭😭

itsallgreek · 16/11/2018 07:57

@Laburna I'm not really that keen myself actually and have no idea why my brain chose him... I don't think I'll be mentioning it to anyone I know in real life hut thought you guys would find it funny

TwittleBee · 16/11/2018 08:02

Wish I was having sex dreams, all I keep having are nightmares

5fivestar · 16/11/2018 08:29

Has anyone completely lost their appetite?

Yellowpeaches · 16/11/2018 08:45

Hello, is it okay to join you?
I got my bfp on wednesday, clearblue 2-3 and think I'm 4+6? I still don't believe it really!

Frazzlerock · 16/11/2018 09:01

Morning all,

Amazing news about the twins @Toria73 !!

Well we are off to this 90's weekender this morning and will be home on Monday.

I'm having a horrible gut feeling again.
I think what I'm going to do is take myself away from the group while I'm away and come back after my scan on Tuesday.
At 7+2 (or 7+6) all my practically non existent symptoms have gone (except thirst) and you're all having such strong symptoms, and I'm really worrying that so many of you have seen/heard a heartbeat so early and they couldn't detect one for us.
I know I shouldn't compare but I can't help it Sad

Sooooo I think I'll bugger off for a bit and hopefully be back with good news after my scan on Tuesday (at 2:40pm)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and fingers crossed I'll be back with a big smile on Tuesday afternoon, like this one ---> 😁
