Just because I think we’re getting close to filling the first one. Pull up a pew, bring your decaf tea and all of the carbs!

Jxtina86 · 13/11/2018 19:38

@Deliah7 yes to hot flushes too! Everyone at work complaining about the cold and I'm there fanning myself like it's the middle of summer!

Jxtina86 · 13/11/2018 19:39

Sorry meant to tag @Delilah7 - that will teach me to type and cook at the same time!

Delilah7 · 13/11/2018 19:40

@Jxtina86 I'm either ridiculously hot or cold 😂😂😂

Jxtina86 · 13/11/2018 19:49

@cathyj87 ooh that's a good shout! Thanks!

Toria73 · 13/11/2018 19:50

@jxtina86 I’ve been snacking on a combo of grapes, almonds & pistachios, Daim bars & maltesers. The nuts probably work the best for me but the sweets & grapes taste better 😉

RooKangaroo · 13/11/2018 19:54

"Shoulder pain can be a symptom of ectopic I think, but yours doesn’t sound the right kind of pain for that. x"

@Rose68, you've promoted me to look this up, and this is exactly the kind of should pain have had today. I figured it was just a joint pain and I'd pulled a muscle or something :(

I think I might call 111.

Rose68 · 13/11/2018 20:04

@RooKangeroo - oh no! Definitely phone 111! I think it should be a sharp pain in your shoulder, with other symptoms too and probably happens between 6-8 weeks. But I am no expert, just what I learnt from googling last week.
Let us know how you get on. xxx

Holty99 · 13/11/2018 20:08

I'm 41, also an oldy. Had a 90 minute nap this afternoon as just couldn't stay awake.

Toria73 · 13/11/2018 20:19

@Holty99, I’m so envious of your nap! Every afternoon roughly around 3pm I can barely stay awake. If my boss sent me off to my bed I think I’d cry with gratitude 😂😂

RooKangaroo · 13/11/2018 21:25

Thanks @Rose68. They've sent me to the out-of-hours care, to probably get a referral to the EPU for tomorrow morning.

I've also got a blood disorder (makes me more likely to clot), so they wanted me to come in :(

SnailorSwift · 13/11/2018 21:58

Hope all ok @RooKangaroo 💕

StargazyDrifter · 13/11/2018 23:51

Hope all is ok RooKangaroo, right thing to do. The consultant I saw recently (details up thread) said that shoulder pain alone isn't enough so they'd likely be interested in any other symptoms you have too.

Great news on all the scans and appointments! TwittleBee good that you managed to avoid MIL!

Hope all the poorly mummies feel better soon. 💐

I have also been snacking on almonds and grapes. Nausea still pretty vicious, to the extent that someone was taking about a recipe in great detail at work and I thought I might 🤢, but I'm a tiny bit less tired.

TwittleBee thank you for the heads up about hCG eventually falling. I hadn't realised! Seems to be after 9-12 weeks at the latest from what I've found.

Laburna · 14/11/2018 03:40

How are you doing @rookangaroo? Do you have scans or someone to see tomorrow/today?

I am with you @focusbear on the aches and pains. I just can't seem to get comfortable at all at the moment. I woke up as one and I'm still awake because whatever position I get it, something is sore. DH said it was like I was chasing rabbits yesterday night I was moving so.much. I'm guessing its the ligaments and joints relaxing causing everything to be out of alignment but it's so annoying!

I'm starting to worry about getting an early scan done, I really want one to put my mind at rest that it's all ok this time, but then again, I keep thinking if I go and there's a problem, well, I'd prefer to be in this little 'pregnancy' bubble and unaware for a bit longer.

Laburna · 14/11/2018 03:49

@stargazydrifter I can't see what twittlebee wrote about the HCG dropping, but it's to do with the placenta taking over, isn't it? By 12 weeks the initial symptoms should have lessened, so morning sickness etc which are all caused by the bodies reaction to the HCG being produced. The people due towards the beginning of July, should hopefully soon start to see a reduction in stuff!

Does anyone know if the 'Hook Effect' is actually real? I've poas so many times this time round, I'm wondering how far along you'd have to be for it to work, or it is coupled with the HCG dropping and therefore you'd have to be in your second trimester to see it? I keep reading it being used as a reason people get negative tests, and I don't understand. 🤔

I can't believe how slowly and quickly this first bit has gone. I'm 7.5 weeks already, and I don't know if it's because it's also Christmas, but 12 weeks doesn't seem very far away. That being said, it's seriously dragging, the last 3 weeks have seemed like an eternity, feel like over been pregnant for ages already!

I should probably take up a night time hobby for the hours I spend awake musing pointless stuff! 😂

FocusBear · 14/11/2018 04:58

Hi Labuna. I'm up at stupid o'clock as well. Got up to pee a hour ago and can't get back to sleep. Just lying here wide awake. I'm tired but can't sleep. this afternoon at work is going to be awful.

I probably should get used to not sleeping properly from now on. Don't know how you ladies with kids already do it.

TwittleBee · 14/11/2018 05:36

Awake here top, been trying to stay off my phone since 4.30 to get back to sleep but I've given in now as alarm goes off in a half hour anyway.

No clue about the Hook Effect Laburna I only knew about the hcg levels because I happened to have just read about it.

Hope everything goes okay rookangaroo

HSapr · 14/11/2018 06:34

Morning all

Good luck this morning @RooKangaroo Thanks will be thinking of you.

I had a few days off but my diarrhoea seems to be back now! I am not sure if it's morning sickness but as a few others have said, my queasy patch has started to hit me in the late afternoon, usually just before I leave work. It's like I am going to sick burp if that makes sense?! Like burny.

Anyhoo, we booked an early scan for the beginning of December last night Smile

Hope everyone has a good day!

HchyScott · 14/11/2018 06:42

Morning all, so the bug worsened overnight twinned with pains really low down, below my Pubic bone that were coming and going. Have spent most of the night convincing myself it’s all over but no blood yet. I’m so scared. Will ring the doctors later I guess.

Laburna · 14/11/2018 06:49

Oh @hchyscott sorry you are having such a rough time. Fingers crossed you start to feel better and it's all related to the bug. 💜

Sorry everyone else has been awake. Feel all wobbly wobbly this morning. Am hoping lots of water will help - my app says drinking lots will help the sickness to 🤷🏻‍♀️ worth a go.

Laburna · 14/11/2018 06:51

@Hsapr late afternoon before work finished was when I used to get my worst sickness with DS. It was the longest I went without food/water and I was usually getting crazy tired by then.

HchyScott · 14/11/2018 07:21

@Laburna thank you, I’m praying it’s just the stretching ligaments ect and little bean getting really comfy as I’m poorly but I just had such a bad feeling last night. It wasn’t horrendous pain either, bare able but still there. I don’t know how I’m going to go to work, my nan would say I look like “death warmed up”

TwittleBee · 14/11/2018 07:25

HSapr ah sorry your diarrhoea is back! And yeah does sound like "morning" sickness. See if you can trt having a snack just before it usually strikes and see if that helps?

Oh no so not good but really hope it's just ligament pain feeling so much worse because you are ill HchyScott

Delilah7 · 14/11/2018 07:31

Feeling VERY sick this morning. Just got in work made some toast and got some grapes. Took one bit of the toast and pretty much heaved.... hoping this is a good sign 😂😂

FocusBear · 14/11/2018 07:46

Sorry to hear you are suffering HSapr hope it eases up soon.

HchyScott poor you. Stay positive. I know it's hard. Hopefully the pain stops soon. Take it easy at work today.

Rookangaroo hope everything is ok. Let us know how you get on with the doc.

Managed to fall back asleep for half an hour before the alarm went off. Felt awful having to get up. Sad

babyHP · 14/11/2018 08:48

Morning all, happy humpday (soon we can call it bumpday 😂).

I am thinking of you this morning @RooKangaroo - hope all goes well.

I am really struggling to sleep at night. Mainly because boobs make sleeping very uncomfortable, toilet trips but also constant dreams of baby and gender and scans and 'things going wrong'. I try to hard to remain positive and do quite well in the day, but at night its like all my little worries come out and my brain wont switch off!! Leaves me waking up with a worrisome feeling rather than the excitement of 'I'm pregnant - yay!'. Anyone else in the same boat?

On a side note, could someone please explain dating to me. I have googled till I cant anymore, downloads various apps and read 3 books already but I just dont understand how we are dated in terms of weeks, at this stage. My trusty app that I have used for years, Flo, has a pregnancy mode and when I turned it to this - it tells me I am 5+3 (today). But all other calculators are telling me I am only 4+3. I know this can fluctuate and a scan will give us the real dates but, for now what do I work with? I am like many of you and just wanting to be at 12 weeks already!!

Sorry for the long post 🤭
