I know Ive got a cheek as Ive moaned for 9 months but is anybody wanting this to end? I like being PG this time and I know its my last time and am a bit melancholy about it.

Just to say that Charlotte and I came home last night! Was very odd and a little scary, but actually had much better night's sleep than any of the nights in hospital - partly because DH took responsibility for a couple of hours so I could go and get some proper sleep. He's a STAR!!! Anyway time to go and have a feed, though I feel really mean as it'll involve waking her up and she looks SO peaceful and content at the moment. But have been told it's important to feed her very regularly at the moment, so here we go again.... (And no that's not a complaint, I promise)

Anyway good wishes to everyone else and won't be long now before all of us are up to our elbows in feeds, nappies etc etc.

Thats great news Jamantha! It must feel great to have Charlotte at home with you.

Firststar - I think its quite common to worry about what sort of mother you'll be and about things like breastfeeding. Try to enjoy the moment and not worry too much . Hope you get to see LO soon!!!

Liesel - I know what you mean about the pregnancy. Its also my last pregnancy as DH and I really only want 2 children, and I keep reminding myself to try to enjoy these final stages as I wont be here again! It is hard though when you're up all the time at night pee-ing, and its so difficult to move about and get comfortable. I'm actually quite looking forward to the birth this time too - although that may change as soon as the contractions start.

3flights - bad luck about the house!! And the buyer of yours! You must be knackered!!

Hi to everyone else Things are good for me as its my last week at work - same as you myfairlady?. Am so so so looking forward to finishing up. And now I'm on iron tablets for my anaemia, I'm feeling much brighter and energetic .

marchbunny · 18/06/2007 12:49

Congratulations to you and your family Jamantha, Charlotte is beautiful!

Great to see that the July baby's are starting to arrive safe and well.

Think I will now go and re pack/check my hospital bag!

Hope everyone else is ok, and making the most of the cooler weather

twoplusone · 18/06/2007 14:16

2960g is about 6.5lbs...

Hope everyone welse is ok..

I am just soo tired at the momnet I have no energy..

emmyb · 18/06/2007 15:16

Hi everyone hope all is well.
Congrats jamantha on your arrival home. I cant wait for that feeling.

Chooster Ikwym about quite looking forward to the birth this time. i just want that feeling of starting off on my own, I hated being induced and really hope it happens naturally this time. I'm on my second week of ML and its very strange I feel like i need to be doing jobs all the time but cant so feel lazy. I know i should be making the most of it but its so strange when you have an active job, dont you think?

Ive just cleaned out the shoe cupboard under the stairs, I wonder if that counts as nesting instinct???

Beyonceen · 18/06/2007 15:33

Congratulations Jamantha! Mega early but so good that you're both safely home and well.
Twoplusone- why did you need another scan? Just asking as I've just had one cos I'm big for dates and measured 2.9kg and I'm going for another tomorrow as I'm still measuring 38cm and not due til 22nd July.

Chooster · 18/06/2007 16:19

Hi Emmy - I know what you mean. I was induced last time too so I really would like the feeling of a slow build up. I was induced as I was bleeding quite heavily so I was out straight on the drip as there was no time for seeing what would happen if they broke my waters etc... Hopefully the same wont happen this time!

The shoe cupboard is on my list of things to do once I'm on mat leave too!

beyonceen- I have been scanned everry 4 weeks due to my first pg had a lot of probems including IUGR, and placenta insufficiency. (was scanned every 4 weeks in my second pg to)
As routine in germany you get more anyway..One at 12wks, 20 weeks 32weeks and due date.

I think tidying shoe cupboard counts as nesting.

I have washed my front room carpet tonight and the hall way. Doing the sofas just before I go to bed. Also need to wrap all of ds pressies as havent wrapped any yet.. cant believe this time 3 years ago I was in Labour...
Stood and ironed for 4 hrs last night, did all the family ironing and then the babies clothes too.. (outfits not baby grows.)

need to get all the bedroom carpets washed think will do this at the weekend...

OH and also need to pack hospital bag properly still need to buy some little toiletries to go in there..)

Bodkin · 18/06/2007 19:53

Twoplusone - your nesting beats mine hands down! I thought I was top of the league by cleaning the grease off the cooker hood, and shoe cupboard? pah, did that weeks ago, but ironing for 4 hours (inc. baby clothes).... I am impressed

Hope everyone else is managing to enjoy these last few precious days of sanity.... although I have to confess to looking forward to being able to bend in the middle, rather than squatting to pick things off the floor!

twoplusone · 18/06/2007 20:26

defo with you there Bodkin...

madmumNika · 18/06/2007 21:34

Hello all! Twoplusone- sounds like your little lad is going to be a perfect weight! Glad you got a good scan.

Jamantha- really glad to hear you & Charlotte are safely home. Enjoy

Hmmm nesting instincts... I certainly have them but supposedly on 'rest' which I find very frustrating.... I am self-employed too and to be told not to work is tough, although to be honest my mind is not on work much anymore!! Luckily my maternity benefit started last week so at least some money coming in, just disappointed not to finish all the projects I'd hoped to before LO arrives.... But that's not anything that important in the grander scheme of things (especially compared with going into labour early, big house sale issues etc!)

Is anyone else getting carpal tunnel syndrome? My midwife diagnosed me with this on Saturday as had been getting really bad numbness/weakness/pins & needles in both hands. Finding it quite frustrating, but at least it didn't happen any earlier in pregnancy! Really feel for those who get it at 16+ weeks!

Otherwise all seems well with my little one, my BP is still misbehaving a little (not really going below 135/90) so waiting to see what the hospital want to do- have a consultant appt & scans on Thurs... But so far we're getting there!

Huge hugs to you all, hope you are still getting some time to rest.

By the way has anyone heard from Weddingcake recently? Hope everything's ok! xx

agnesnitt · 18/06/2007 22:07

Jamantha, good to hear you're both home and well now.

I have my 'presentation' appointment this week. Joy and funbags. I get to be prodded by more than one midwife. I'm getting to the snarky stage. I am utterly fed up of it all. I'm feeling so uncomfortable and I wish I could just sleep for the next four weeks.

Right. I'm off to ignore the laundry and cook myself something. I want a curry, but feel noodles would be quicker.

Agnes

Justaboutmanaging - I'm with you! My house is taking shape, but mainly through the efforts of others. I think I may have delegated 'nesting' to everyone else!

Sorry to hear of the various house woes - not good. Sorry also to those who are suffering with various ailments. My main complaint is a feeling that I've just been kicked in the groin, kind of bruisy feeling. I think it's just all the stretching. Oh that and horrible recurrent heartburn at night.

Positive thoughts to everyone.

PS Hope things are going well with Charlotte Jamantha. Delighted to hear she's home.

twoplusone · 19/06/2007 09:49

MMN- Hope everything goes ok for you on Thursday..

My dS woke this morning totally oblivious that it is his birthday.. he soon remembered when he came in the front room and his daddy and big sis were sat with all the pressies.. I hid the ones I knew he really wanted (A big Lightning Mcqueen and Mater..) but he seen these straight away under athe other pressies at thebottom of his new toy box!! My front room is now covered in cars, trains, but he is playing happily. I do feel guilty that we arent really doing anything for his bday.. but I really havent got the energy to have kids round.. Do you think I am being mean.. I am taking him out to the ice cream parlour just after lunch with my neighbour and her little boy..

Then I have a bday cake for him for when dd gets in from school.

Just my upstairs to do (Jst the carpets need washing, dh sorted the bedrooms out last night whilst I did the sofas..) ( and the cellar) then the house is all ready for lo.. (not that he will be going into the cellar.. but dd play room down there.. needs a good scrub on the walls it gets so dusty..

This housework milarky is never ending..

I do hope everyone is ok..

Wont be long ladies till we all have our lo nestled in our arms. (what is 4-6weeks) when we have come this far.. nothing really.

Take care all.
xx

MelissaM · 19/06/2007 10:24

Jamantha, glad to hear Charlotte is home.

Sorry to hear about all the problems people are having with houses. I hope things get sorted soon.

I agree with delegating nesting Cyee. Mum and Dad did a fantastic job cleaning my house and sorting out my garden last week, and mil did some ironing yesterday and took the rest home with her .

twoplusone, glad the scan went well.

Twoplusone, I think you are making loads of effort for your ds's b'day. If the ice-cream parlour is anything like the one I went to in Paderborn a few months ago, then he's in for a real treat! And he's getting b'day cake too!

I hope he has a lovely birthday.
