Sooo much to do! I haven't washed any of the bedding or new clothes, haven't packed a "just in case" hosptial bag, what else... what else?!

foxybrown · 15/06/2007 11:21

Justaboutmanaging - sorry to hear about your house sale falling through. Why have the buyers pulled out? No doubt they have incurred legal fees too - so presumably a valid reason? Perhaps it is meant to be. Fate. I am a great believer in it!

Justaboutmanaging - Yes. Or those lovely lines from Pope's Essay on Man in Four Epistles:

"Cease then, nor order imperfection name:
Our proper bliss depends on what we blame.
Know thy own point: This kind, this due degree
Of blindness, weakness, Heav'n bestows on thee.
Submit.--In this, or any other sphere,
Secure to be as blest as thou canst bear:
Safe in the hand of one disposing pow'r,
Or in the natal, or the mortal hour.
All nature is but art, unknown to thee;
All chance, direction, which thou canst not see;
All discord, harmony, not understood;
All partial evil, universal good:
And, spite of pride, in erring reason's spite,
One truth is clear, Whatever is, is right."

JAM,

When I moved house my name almost delayed the sale, but it can be sorted. My mortgage offer was in my maiden name, and the legal documents had been drawn up in my married name. Therefore one or other had to be changed, and we went for the mortgage offer. Bills were in a different name to the original offer so not sure why her lender won't take the risk. Surely she has a birth certificate to prove her original name and her wedding certificate to prove her married name so they should assume its one and the same person. And for women I don't think there is a "legal" name - you can use maiden or married name as you wish, but after my experience, I am trying to get everything into one name (was married 3 years ago too!).

Maybe it is just an excuse, and she can't get an offer because her divorce settlement hasn't come through and she can't afford it?

Thanks for the stats Abgirl.

JAM, I'm so sorry to hear of your misfortune. It all sounds bizarre though and I know its a hassle but surely this could be easily solved rather than the sale falling through. Something seems a little fishy (or it could be my rather suspicious mind)!

Well, I had good news today! Midwife appointment went well and it seems that my LO has finally decided to 'get its head down'!!!! Woohooooo! Has been breech for the longest time and finally its in place. She said it was 1/5th? I think thats means it has 4 more steps to be engaged...is that right?

So that past two days of feeling like complete 'poo' were probably the baby moving into position! phew!

Hope you are all well and have a great weekend. Big hugs to all and their bumps.

thanks for stats update abgirl, very odd to be top of the list i must say.

sorry about your house hassles jam, sure something will happen soon to distract you at least.

and congrats to auntymandy! will go check out tha announcement.

charlotte came out of scbu this afternoon. if lab results come back good tommorow we may get to go home!

Miaou · 15/06/2007 18:22

Fantastic news Jamantha - lots of vibes to encourage little Charlotte to be well enough to go home very soon

I am getting to know a few more people round here now - I went to a mums and toddlers group this morning and it was lovely - everyone was so friendly and nice, and ds had a great time. I shall definitely keep going there. Feel we have made a good move up here!

twoplusone · 15/06/2007 20:09

Great news Jamantha..

Miaou- Glad you are settling in well and feel like you have made the right move.

jam- sorry to hear about your sale falling through..

Myfairone- at baby engaging.

Abgirl- Thank you for the stats

Hope everyone else is ok..

I am so tearful att he moment.. i feel like the worlds shittest mother for no reason, I think it is just hormones.. I look at ds playing in the garden by himself or running round the front room and he looks so cute I justy burst into tears thinking I should be somewhere with him.. we do go to friends houses to play and he goes to creche.. would take him to the park more often.. but he frightens the life out of me climbing up everything and running away from me.. Once I have had the bay that will be easier as I will be able to catch him... Think I am just ultra hormonal..

I have told DH that I hate living here!!! Hoping things will improve when I have had the baby and putting it all down to hormones at the moment.. Also got bad news today my friend who was supposed to be moving here in 3 weeks from Cyprus ( we were very close out there.. like sisters) got told 2 days ago they cant come here.. for various reasons.. which are all a load of bollocks!!.. there stuff is already enroute to here ffs.. She wont talk to me on the phone, a mutual friend in Cyprus is saying she is refusing to speak to anyone at the moment and has just become reclusive since being told.. and shouting at her hubby who also feels let down and useless about the whole situation.. I just feel like I should be doing something to console her but there is nothing i can do from here when she wont speak to me on the phone. I was really looking forward to her moving here as as my dd as she is very good friends with her dd and our hubies are very good friends too..

Sorry rant over..
xx

abgirl · 15/06/2007 20:16

Jamantha good to her that Charlotte is out of SCBU and will keep my fingers crossed for you that you are all home soon.

Didn't have time to post properly this morning. Good news is elective c-section all agreed, bad news is no available slots until 4th July - EDD is 6th anyway and they normally look for a date 10 days before your EDD so to be only 2 days before is somewhat unusual. Now in a quandary about what to do if I go into labour before hand, either to give VBAC a go or say no I'm having a c-section, get me to theatre asap. Was quite decided about c-section but feeling under a bit of pressure from DH and midwife I talked to today to try VBAC. If I get there I have a midwife appointment with my normal community midwife next Friday - she is lovely and would like to talk it over with her. In a way am really hoping to go into labour before the 4th as feel like I've been pregnant forever and bad back is really getting me down. Good news is that DH is switching to an early shift at work from Monday onwards so he'll be around to help with DS in the evenings - had the terrible 2yo from hell yesterday....

twoplusone · 15/06/2007 20:29

abgirl which hospital are you having babs in Frimly or Guilford!

JAM- i live in Germany.. DH is in the Army..

abgirl · 15/06/2007 20:43

twoplusone am at Frimley - had DS there and it was a real blessing travelling there every day for 10 weeks to see him in SCBU rather than trying to fit through the traffic to get to the Royal Surrey. Work just round the corner from the Royal Surrey normally so no what a pain it is to travel there! Do like Frimley but it has such a good reputation that they are constantly busy!

JAM I think DH is scared of the potential complications of a c-section (which are constantly pointed out by midwives etc) but doesn't realise that some of the complications from normal deliveries can be just as bad (I know there is a higher maternal death rate overall for c-sections but it is a tiny tiny percentage still). Also he is a contractor now so the more time he has to take off work the more it will cost us and he doesn't have any rights to paternity leave/pay.

twoplusone · 15/06/2007 20:49

abgirl- I would have gone for Frimley again too, that is where I had ds..(3years ago on Tuesday) he was a Vbac and they were great..couldnt fault them in the least..

Good luck hun.xx
