Icecream does go with most things (runny eggs and brie?? maybe worth a try)

annobal · 12/06/2007 19:24

Will update on SFL as soon as I hear anything...

trendaverter · 12/06/2007 19:35

Yay to all you rebels not giving up the naughty foods!

I also read that if you have any allergies you musn't eat peanuts as it can increase the risk of nut allergies, oh well, I went through a MAJOR peanut butter phase!

I am pretty sure it's all a bit of an overreaction nanny culture type thing, LO is going to need to build up immunity in my house!!

daisyboo · 12/06/2007 19:39

Lol....the post natal thread is quiet....3 posts in total on there today and the last one was mine at 5:15.......c'mon you lot, hurry up and join us!

Quick question...what does a runny bum look like in a BF baby...Em's poo has turned an alarming shade of green and gone all stringy. She's got a bit of a gummy eye as well and seems a little out of sorts. She's still feeding well though and doesn't have a temperature.

annobal · 12/06/2007 19:40

Poor little thing! Sorry though, I don't remember - have you eaten anything out of the ordinary?

trendaverter · 12/06/2007 19:41

I am TRYING to join you!

Just ate a whole mango, a spicy dinner, and had jiggy jiggy last night, I am doing my best!

Not sure about poo, but I do have a leaflet with baby BF poo pics on it, hang on will look.

trendaverter · 12/06/2007 19:44

ok it says day 1-2 it is dark green/brown/black and sticky
days 3-5 - 2 poos (ish) per day, colour goes green and it changes because baby is taking in more milk and digesting it.
day 5-7 minimum 2 poos going more yellow

hope that helps!

trendaverter · 12/06/2007 19:45

I can't believe I actually kept (and used) the poo leaflet

daisyboo · 12/06/2007 19:47

we've had the black goo going to green goo then turning yellow and grainy. It's been regular BF baby poo for days now...just today (this evening) its different.

Where's your virtual health visitor when you need her?

DERLOR.....HEEEEEELPPPPPP!

annobal · 12/06/2007 19:48

Well done on the poo identification!

LOL TA - am now 37 weeks and baby can come whenever it wants as I can now at least try for a home birth. I'm already getting fed up so can't imagine how you guys nearing or past your due dates are...

daisyboo · 12/06/2007 19:48

but thanks anyway TA.....

can't believe you're still here. When do they want to induce you, or have you not discussed that yet?

trendaverter · 12/06/2007 19:52

I am being induced on Sunday (probably) but I have the pleasure of a sweep and exam tomorrow, and MW will confirm the date then.

I honestly thought I would be early, I had everything ready to go at 37 weeks, I don't even remember what's in my labour bag anymore!

It's disheartening tbh, and a couple of days ago I felt really depressed, but I am sort of ok with it now. The bit I have found hardest really is that until 40 weeks I was very mobile, still able to paint toenails etc, but in the last few days I can hardly even get out of the chair any more!

TALLULAHBELLE · 12/06/2007 19:53

Daisy - can't help with the poo but my new nephew has had sticky eye. Not infected just blocked tear ducts but SIL found applying breast milk helps. Not quite sure how she applies it - the mind boggles.

trendaverter · 12/06/2007 19:55

ROFL Tallulah!

Waaayyyyy too many frightening mental images of boob milk being applied to baby eyes

annobal · 12/06/2007 19:55

TA. Sending you lots of labour and quick dilation vibes. Have you tried anything like accupuncture or reflexology?

annobal · 12/06/2007 19:57

TB - I remember doing that - just used to add an extra squeeze (obviously after I had fed - if I had done it before I probably would have taken his eye out .

trendaverter · 12/06/2007 19:59

Thanks annobal

TBH no I haven't, I am ashamed to admit in present company I have never been the sort to consider acupuncture/reflexology, I have never even seen a chiropracter/physio or even done anything like yoga!

I am terrible to my body

I am, however, interested in reflexology and will see if I can persuade dh to give it a go - I saw there was a link earlier.

daisyboo · 12/06/2007 20:00

pmsl annobal . I've tried some milk in his eye....it made the goo turn yellow, just like his poo. WTF is in breast milk to make it go an alarming shade of yellow?

daisyboo · 12/06/2007 20:00

his eye....I mean hers. she looks so much like DS did that even I'm getting confused!

annobal · 12/06/2007 20:24

LOL that, and egg yolks, and the fact that it makes me look ill, are the reasons I can never wear yellow!

annobal · 12/06/2007 21:03

Where is everyone? And does Flightattendant have a text buddy? Just seen her thread and am dying to know!

hollyandalice · 12/06/2007 21:10

Evening everyone!

Lol at the poo discussion! Honestly when you have a baby all you can talk about for the first few weeks are baby poo, cracked nipples, post birth bleeding and sleep!! 'Tis very interesting for those without children!

I'm very ! My bloody washing smells of dirty smoke! The twat next door but one has lit some sort of stinky fire and now all my lovely lavender and cotton scented washing smells icky! I am going to leave it out all night and see if the smell goes away. Hope I don't have to rewash it, I shall be cross!

Flight attendant doesn't have a text buddy. Hopefully we'll hear soon!

I think that poo is normal daisy, it sounds ok to me! Dd's poo was always sort of greeny for the first few weeks.

Finally writing my birth plan.

Any ideas anyone???

trendaverter · 12/06/2007 21:33

Hellooooo, I'm afraid you only have half my attention until Gordon has finished.

I just ate a whole 175g bag of maltesers and I feel a bit sick now, but I ate a healthy mango earlier which was healthy so it negates the bad maltesers, it cancelled out the calories.

Holly, I hate to say it but once the smoke is in, nothing is gonna shift it except another wash
