PMSL @lilkelbel
very funny - and I applaud you, 16 days!
I told my mum about your bedroom escapades after only 16 days and she said 'oh I beat that' - URG, my MOTHER!

Daisy I wish I had some advice re the BF thing but I am totally hopeless, but after talking to a BF counsellor in my ante natal classes they said that you produce hardly anything for the first few days and the routine can be very irregular and not to worry about it, it's normal, so hopefully all is well

daisyboo · 10/06/2007 21:18

DG....All the MWs I've seen seem to think her latch is OK, and I can hear her gulping it down when she first latches on and can see her swallowing, so I don't think there's a problem with the latch, although it can take a while to get her on as she won't open her mouth very wide. Once she's on though it all seems fine, and although I'm a bit sore there is only the teeniest bit of cracking at the end of my nipples. Trouble is, my boobs are quite big, so I can't see what's going on and if I try to press the boob out of the way to get a look at how she's latched, she pulls off.

hollyandalice · 10/06/2007 21:19

PMSL TA! My mum keeps telling me to have sex, it's all just 100% wrong!

Could you try shields for a couple of days daisy? You can then see the milk pooling in them, so you are sure she is getting enough and they might help you with the latch as they might make her mouth open a bit wider. They would also help you nipples to heal if they are a bit cracked. I know they worked for me!

Nite all. I am going to go to bed and think positive labour vibes, see if I can 'will' my cervix into action

Have a pleasant evening!

Seansfatlass · 11/06/2007 07:17

LOL re pearl necklaces! Tee Hee! Wondered if anyone would come up with that!!

Have been awake seems like most of the night with the usual prg ailments hb, nausea, hot, uncomfortable, blah, blah, blah. Also managed to slip on the last too steps of the stairs at midnight and woke a very panicky DH up. Am ok, god knows how I slipped with bare feet and carpet?

Anyway, off to hospital again this morning for all the usual tests, plus a sweep in preparation for this and to 'relax' my mind have decided to go for a pedicure and manicure first thing.

See you all later! xx

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 07:22

Morning SFL
Good luck at the hospital. I was up at 4am as well, just can't sleep!!

annobal · 11/06/2007 07:52

TA, perhaps I should have come on here to chat to you! Couldn't find anything to do that didn't involve noise and TV choice was pretty awful too!!

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 08:33

Hi SFL! Yes we should have, I am bored shitless and lonely these days sitting around waiting to give birth, I love chatting online as I am too humungous to move and the only thing I have that still works are my swollen typing fingers

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 09:10

Where is everyone?

mytwocents · 11/06/2007 09:39

Hello lovely ladies!

I feel like i should say sorry for being so rubbish at posting - STILL no computer at home...Have good excuse, house has perhaps fallen through AGAIN - happened in feb too, we've been hangning onsince tues last week and now it looks like crazy vendor is not selling... I've been trying not to get stressed by it, esp as our nightmare neighbours still being nightmare- but it HAS got to me and I've been a right misery lately!! Not wanted to come on here and post misery, wanted to chat to you all about lovely labour and baby stuff! Still, we should have a final answer by tonight or tom am so will decide what to do then.... Very proud of DP , have to say, he's so mild mannered usually but has been very firm with house stuff and positively menacing towards horrid neighbour lady...

Anyway, sorry for ramble xxx

hollyandalice · 11/06/2007 09:41

Good morning! It's all gloomy outside, but it's much better than yesterday, at least I don't feel like I'm going to die of heat!

Hope your sweep goes ok sfl. Good idea getting pampered, you really do deserve it!

I want this baby to come today! My bf has a day off work so she can come and look after dd for me if things happen, though I bet it doesn't!

Morning! I am sleeping really well at the moment (sorry for those of you who aren't), just really chuffed as lack of sleep turns me into a gibbering wreck!

Hope you have a lovely pampering session SFL.

Mytwocents, how stressful for you, at any time, let along at this time. Hope you get a decision soon. Don't worry about coming on here and venting, we are all doing it!

Daisy, hope you are feeling a bit better, must be frustrating to be laid up.

Hi everyone else - any exciting plans today?

mytwocents · 11/06/2007 09:57

riabutterflew · 11/06/2007 10:18

Hope the hospital visit goes well SFL.

Haven't had a text from catkin so assuming she's not smugly cuddling a baby when we're all bored with waiting. (I'm only just 39 weeks and feel like I'm living on borrowed time. Later today would be ok...) Am waiting for MW visit to check my BP then will finish a few jobs off (probably, but have really gone off that kind of thing!). If it's even slightly up I am sending DH to school to deal with the mad witch woman on his own (it won't be helpful if I just sit there and cry and swell up will it?)

I am SO bored and my heartburn isn't letting up at all. Can't even find anything I want from online shopping.

hollyandalice · 11/06/2007 10:20

Catkin has pre eclampsia and I'm sure she was being induced pretty soon. Hope she is ok.

trendaverter · 11/06/2007 10:21

I am feeling particularly grumpy today, 41+1, oh DOOOOO come on LO, I haven't had a show or even a twinge. I am getting bored now and I want my body back and for it to return to a normal temperature.

Please tell me this happens, I am sick of feeling like I am in the tropics when other people are wearing long sleeves!

Nothing exciting planned today... apart from organising fathers day card and present given that it seems unlikely I will be able to visit them now
