derlor · 10/06/2007 14:41

good god.
i've not had a chance to read back but LiKEL HAVE YOU HAD SEX??????? WTF?!?!?!
i feel great but i'm NEVER doing THAT again!!
you need to get the morning after pill within 72 hours or you may just be on the "due in March 2008" thread!!!!!!
how is everyone else doing cause there is no way i'll get the chance to read it all - any major stories that i've missed???

lilKelBel · 10/06/2007 14:45

am officially scared now

derlor · 10/06/2007 14:47

forgot to say as good news to all..... i was examined on Thurs afternoon at antinatal - 1cm dilated (thought i was at least 3 myself but clearly i'm not a MW!!!) they couldn't even do a proper sweep cause my cervix was so high and lying back?? anyway as we all know now 14 hours later Abbie came flying out anyway so don't despair - things CAN chance quickly. also i felt NOTHING, NADDA not a twinge until i woke with my waters breaking at 04.00 - ate a shit load of fresh mango on Thurs evening though

pinguthepenguin · 10/06/2007 14:47

Thanks for you replies guys, am reassured by your exeriences. I think I must be getting around 10 kicks per day, but will start counting to be sure!
I've been getting ocassional shooting pains up me fango (blush), accompanied by mild period-type pains. Will some kind lady please tell me this is indeed the beginnings of labour and it will commence shortly? (hehe!)

derlor · 10/06/2007 14:49

sounds very promising Pingu.
Lilkel - just go to any chemist - you can buy it over the counter, go today if you can cause the earlier it is taken the more effective it is - unless of course you want to be on the "Due in March" thread then just sit with your feet up

justbeme · 10/06/2007 15:05

Am worried now - just read a thread about too much movement and some one said she read that this happened to some 1 and they had a stillborn as the cord was wrapped round the babies neck .........Ohhh now what?

annobal · 10/06/2007 15:10

Hi Derlor, nice to have you back on AN. Abbie sounds like a dream.

LOL Lilkel - think you should get the MAP just to see the look on your chemist's face! Kudos to you

Foxy, you're not feeling well - hope it's not scarlet fever. Has DS still got the rash? Think when T or G have had a rash it has lasted longer than 24 hours but has def been getting better by the 2nd day.

annobal · 10/06/2007 15:12

JBM - please don't worry about that. It happens so rarely and a MW should pick it up. If the cord is around the neck the baby is so slippery they just slip through the cord when they're born.

doggus · 10/06/2007 15:14

Justbeme - I have the same thing as you with the lo action, we call it wacky races as he/she sticks a foot out and charges from one side of my tummy to the other.

Lilkel - you must stand on your head immediately to get all those sperms out. Only way.

Hey derlor, you lucky lady, Abbie is such a nice name, reminds me of my fave ER character. And a diamond necklace, can you get that dh of yours cloned please?

bumperlicious · 10/06/2007 15:14

Justbeme, don't worry, if the cord is wrapped around the baby's neck (which it probably isn't) your baby will be fine as it still gets it's oxygen from the placenta until it's born. There was a fab birth story the other day (can't remember who's) about a baby who's cord was wrapped twice around the neck and the MW didn't even tell the mother, didn't panic, just said the baby really wants to be born now, and it was all very relaxed. I'm sure everything is fine. Your LO has probably just dropped a bit and suddenly found it has a bit more room mine did that for a bit).

bumperlicious · 10/06/2007 15:19

How fab of MrDerlor, what a lovely man. Big kudos to him! And Abbie sounds like a dream. Oh, I can't wait until we are all on postnatal - do you think we'll be competetive?

Will it be "baby foxy slept for 5 hours last night", "well, baby annobal slept for 7"?

or

"baby bumper slept for 3 hours last night and woke up to be fed 4 times and I am a frickin wreck!" "well, baby H&A woke up 7 times and didn't get off my boob so I'm more effing tired than you!"

hollyandalice · 10/06/2007 15:31

Lol bumper! You have just described my dd to a tee!! She used to feed every 2 hours for an hour at a time! I was pretty knackered! This went on for 4 months til I weaned (won't be posting that fact anywhere near a weaning thread!!).

LILKEL (faint)!! You are a randy little hussy! Cannot believe you have been doing it already! !

Hope your ds is feeling better foxy. xx

Hey derlor, you are a super star at giving birth! Glad Abbie is doing well and you are getting some sleep. Mr Derlor is sure putting the rest of our menfolk to shame! I'll be lucky if I get a Mars Bar and a packet of Wotsits!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 10/06/2007 15:41

Mrderlor has set the standard FAR to high, hasn't he??

trendaverter · 10/06/2007 15:43

Yes I think so
I mentioned the necklace to DH who put his head back and said 'bugger.'

foxybrown · 10/06/2007 15:47

mmmars bar. now what did you go and do that for holly? why oh why don't i have any snickers ice creams either??

trendaverter · 10/06/2007 15:52

sainsburys have a BOGOF on snickers ice cream packs....

hollyandalice · 10/06/2007 16:08

Mmmmm...Mars ice cream! We are going for dinner at my parents' and I know that my mum has some cadbury's cornetto flake thingys in the freezer! Hooray! Roast dinner followed by ice cream! My tummy is rumbling!

My dp did buy me an engagement ring in dubai in jan, so I thing I would be expecting too much to get more jewellery! A baby would be a nice gift, if it ever decides to bloody come out!

OP posts:
Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 10/06/2007 16:35

Have just taken my rings off cos I seem really puffed up today and have heard horror stories of women having to have their rings cut off in the later days of pg!!
Thought I'd get em off while I still can - feel wierd without them tho!
Anyone else feeling like a giant marshmello woman today - or is it just me?

Seansfatlass · 10/06/2007 16:50

I want a Mr Derlor clone too!!!! Derlor, its great to have you back, have told several people that my friend had a 1 hour birth, blah blah...(forgot to mention we've never actually met!!) Abbie sounds a little angel

Lilkel!!! pass that hussy crown over too you! , but hats off to you!! Although my mind is totally willing at moment don't think I'll be ever doing it again!!! Have got to talk contraception to DH at some point!!

Bumper ((((hugs))))) sorry to hear that your mum is being so selfish and giving you a hard time. I don't know what advice to give as DM is great, my only complaint is lack of help from inlaws - but hey thats a double edged sword really!

Am also feeling the marshmallow effect and feeling completely huge, hot, achey and knackered! I am glad that I am booked in on Thu and don't have to wait until 40 weeks!

Seansfatlass · 10/06/2007 16:53

JBM like Annobal says try not to worry, I think its rare, can you go and see your MW tomorrow?

Foxy sorry to hear DS and you feeling poorly >>

justbeme · 10/06/2007 17:07

Thanks all! I'll see how things go -
Just woken up from a lurvelly one and half hour sleep mmmmmmmmmm. Although my legs do feel abit marshmallowy DKMAFME.

We're out for dinner soon - think i fancy steak and chips or something

annobal · 10/06/2007 18:22

LOL Bumper - I think we should try to be as competitive as we can (bet my bump is bigger than yours )

SFL - wait until you have a baby, that is contraception enough! Unless, of course, you have one like Lilkel's .

Have decided on cheese and crackers for dinner - YUM. Now who had to go and mention snickers icecream, that's just not fair!

Am also feeling marshmellow effect - especially my fingers which look like big fat sausages .

dionnelorraine · 10/06/2007 18:25

my mum is learning an she is 48!
