oh ffs yes I forgot to say, I also have a friend who gave birth 5 weeks ago yet just finished a 5km race

Even more reason for me to bite the bullet and get to the gym, look at the competition lol!

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 19:56

There are some slimming clubs on hee. We should either join up to one or start our own....good to have a bit of motivation!

I'm also going to join our local bugggyfit class who charge madly around one of the hillier parks!

Yes I'm all for a bit of healthy weight loss competition!! Anything to keep me motivated when I hear the Maltesers talking to me in the night....

I plan on joining a Cannons a few weeks after the birth as they also have a creche for 3 months old+.

Does anyone have any experience with Cannons, are they good? I haven't been with a gym in YEARS.

You mean you won't be bringing the nanny to the gym to look after the LO [shock}

Our local health club (David LLoyd), which is in quite an affluent area, has special reduced membership rates for nannies and au-pairs....and it's still more than I consider reasonable

LOL Daisy - we have 2 local gyms and the David Lloyd is actually cheaper than the council one!

trendaverter · 24/05/2007 20:28

The cost of them is disgusting for sure!

I live in a pretty poor area but close to loads of IT businesses so lots of gyms but sadly they charge corporate rates... because they can

I am going to have a shop around but the cannons looks after babies for £3.50 per hour - if I could find childcare that cost that much I could afford to go back to work

derlor · 24/05/2007 20:36

oh just had a lovely bath - no more pain think your 2p is safe lilkel!!
bet i'm late and foxy is early and she beats me to it!!! - both my other two were born on the 13th of the month so if that happens again i'm going to be 9 days late
can't believe you lot are talking about joining the gym already - sit down relax and have another piece of chocolate orange....
FFFUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK spoke too soon PAIN - YIKES

sputnik · 24/05/2007 20:36

Just a word of caution here...
I was really keen to get exercising again after birth of DD, but I think i overdid it, I got a heavier blood flow one time after doing a load of steps, then basically didn't stop bleeding for 3 months til I had to go for an op to have my uterus scraped out. Can't say for sure it was the exercise but it may well have been. Will be taking it easy for a month at least this time.

derlor · 24/05/2007 20:38

chill girlies you are not supposed to exercise till AFTER your 6 week check!!!! THATS AGES AWAY YET!!!!!

trendaverter · 24/05/2007 20:38

Totally agree sputnik not going to be stupid, just planning on cutting down food first and going swimming/aquarobics (just anything low impact), plan to join the gym about 3 months after.

sputnik · 24/05/2007 20:39

I am going to raise the stakes to 3p Derlor. What's happening?????

derlor · 24/05/2007 20:41

i'm fine Sputnik - think i might actually just need a poo!!!

sputnik · 24/05/2007 20:42

TA, you'll have to wait and see if you're one of those people that lose loads bf. Lots of people do but sadly I'm not one of them, it just made me even more ravenous than when pg.

sputnik · 24/05/2007 20:46

You had us on the edge of our seats there Derlor.
Nothing from Ria today. It's getting to the point where if someone doesn't post for 24 hours you start wondering.....

annobal · 24/05/2007 20:46

Me too Sputnik Think I was so worried about my milk drying up that I made sure I ate loads...

Agree re waiting to go to the gym - and really do anything actually - I went out shopping 5 days after DS1 was born and had a really bad bleed afterwards.

annobal · 24/05/2007 20:49

Am knackered and having loads of bhs tonight so going to bed - yes, I am that tired.

Derlor - good luck if it all kicks of for you (and if it doesn't good luck with the poo )

trendaverter · 24/05/2007 20:55

I'm off now too, good luck to anyone that finds a poo aint just a poo

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 20:56

Still with us then Derlor....have a nice poo

Just been reading a thread slagging off netmums with a couple of links to the site, and all I have to say about it is

....bloody hell fucking arse twunt crap....

Ah...that's better

What a load of toss....all glittery things and moving emoticons and sugary sickly chat....no arguments, no disagreemnts, no bloody swearing, and all thoe smug photos....horrible, horrible. Wish I'd never gone now

Have a look if you can bear it

OP posts:
justbeme · 24/05/2007 21:05

I have to say - I went on net mums and didnt like it - they all have tickers etc and I couldnt fathom it all out - mind you I must be the only one who cant do links on here!! LOL

foxybrown · 24/05/2007 21:08

So, let me get this straight ...every time they post pictures that they've put on come up? Like an auto signature? Fucking hell. How slow would our pc's run if we had that? AND they have sweary filters. Fuck that.

I did 'browse' on it one day last week . Felt like I was being disloyal!

And also worked out very quickly it was a big pile of shite.

Sorry, but it makes me a bit sweary!!!

foxybrown · 24/05/2007 21:10

Where's Derlor? Is she having a poo?

Lilkel, that was me who sent the email! Didn't realise you didn't know it was me - sorry!!

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 21:11

It made my eyes hurt tbh, all that visual disturbance going on....and it's not that easy to navigate around. There also seems to be a couple of 'moderators' hanging around checking its all PC or whatever.

Makes me want to log on under false identity, shout sweary words, then run away

OP posts:
derlor · 24/05/2007 21:11

that's hillarious Daisy - think i'll join sure i'd fit right in

derlor · 24/05/2007 21:13

hi {waves} foxy no poo or baby yet - ooohhhh the tension what's it going to be??????
