LOL BZ.....her text came through when I was with the head-nurse....couldn't jump up to get to the phone out of politeness.

so, only a few more hours of work for you....will you be taking a decent amount of time off or getting back to it pretty quickly? It must be quit a difficult decision if you're self-employed. Mind you, you're soon to be a published author at the top of the best sellers list, so....

Having been a social recluse for 9 months, we've got a wedding invitation on 7th July.....and just received another wedding invitation...also for 7th July. It's just typical isn't it? wedding invitations, they're just like busses and taxis!

T/A Don't want to go back really cos after 3 years living there I was so ready to come home. Now with wee one on way I want my mum around. BUT can't deny we would have better lifestyle there compared to living in 1 bedroom tenement flat in Glasgow as we are now. Not to mention the weather!!!!

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 14:23

lower heart rate is supposed to indicate a boy......DSs was always around 120-125 whereas this one which we think is pink has been 130-140.

And apparently this is one "old midwives tale" that has some truth in it.

trendaverter · 24/05/2007 14:24

Yes Re better lifestyle.... but the house prices there are getting so high now I wonder if we could even afford to go back!

I was ready to come home too, and glad to have family around. Needed to leave the country really, Adelaide is a big country town, everyone knows everyone, and I was the instigator of a messy divorce. Was best off getting out of there, but I think it's blown over now, could probably go back ;-)

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 14:25

Tallulah, TA...I would jump at the chance to go down under....although i think the poisonous creepy crawlies would put me off a little bit.

A friend of mine emigrated to NZ a couple of years ago and says its the best thing he's ever done....

Well the poor child will be called Matilda and be wearing girls clothes if DD has anything to do with it...she's convinced it's a girl. Just wondered about heartrate, as at 31 weeks (last appt) they had it down as 138-145 and this appt it was 120 - seems a big drop! Maybe it's just getting more chilled out in there...

BadZelda · 24/05/2007 14:31

Planning on being off at least until January...at least I've saved up a rake of cash and that's when I've told clients I'll be starting then. However, IR will no doubt hand me a nasty tax-bill at the end of Jan, so I'll have to try and work to pay that off...already got PT contract lined up that I can just go and do a couple of days a week in Jan and then take a bit more time off if I need to, so guess I'll wing it then...

trendaverter · 24/05/2007 14:31

Creepy crawlies are not a problem, really, esp. if you live in the cities.

Need to worry more about the locals

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 14:47

Is that you speaking of your DH?....

Agree about everyone knowing everyone else in Adelaide - how long you been back T/A? Just wondering if have heard any goss about you - ha ha

trendaverter · 24/05/2007 15:51

hahahaha

I left in 2003, I think the 2 degrees of separation and gossipers have forgotten about me now!

sputnik · 24/05/2007 16:00

Just caught up with all the chat since yesterday. Congratulations with your novel BadZ, I meant to go and take a peek last time you linked it, can you link it again as I think it was several threads ago?

Nannyjo, if you're still around huge congrats to you on getting to 36 weeks and a decent birthweight, take care of yourself and Callum.

Glad everyone found my DH's idea of guests as ridiculous as me, unfortunatly I let myself get so pissed off by it that I had a go at MIL, who didn't actually deserve it , I was just in a really foul mood and feeling shite yesterday. I am just feeling really antisocial atm as I still can't even walk around without feeling dizzy. Anyway, DH and I weren't really speaking yesterday so I didn't want to even bring it up, then this morning on his way out the door he starts saying maybe I should have the baby in the local hospital (still 40 minutes drive away) where a) they give you a cesarean soon as look at you, b) they keep the babies in a nursery and give you limited access c) a baby died there for no good reason not long ago

No way am I going there, but I feel like he is trying to punish me by saying that. He has been really good with practical support but emotionally useless. Sorry for laying all this on you.

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 16:03

Pah...DS has come home from school in a terrbile mood, he's all stroppy and "i don't care" about everything and has just started howling because I won't let him have his birthday presents today. Just don't have the energy to deal with him.

And I think I'm coming down with a bug...feeling really fluey and have very unsettled bottom (just adding that in incase its a pre-labour thing)

Lay away Sputnik it's what we're here for.....I'm sure he just said that without thinking about it too much. at his insensitivity though.

OP posts:
sputnik · 24/05/2007 16:07

Daisy I hope for your sake you're not coming down with the same thing I have.

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 16:10

I think its a little bit far for the germs to travel, LOL

Why, does that sound like your symptoms?

OP posts:
sputnik · 24/05/2007 16:11

You're probably right Daisy, it just really upset me though. He certainly didn't think about it, as we have to go to Rome anyway as there's no one here we can leave DD with. That's what makes me think he was just trying to get back at me.

sputnik · 24/05/2007 16:15

You'd be surprised in these days of cheap travel etc how much germs get about. Europe isn't that big. I felt very fluey at the beginning. Bottom not too bad but had stomach cramps.

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 16:16

you've probably dented his male pride...there he is wanting to show off his home and his hospitality to people and you're saying erm, not a good idea. He probably didn't even think about fact that you're about to pop or that you've not exactly been chipper when he made the invitation. And these italian men can be a bit hot-headed, can't they?

So are the visitors still coming? or has he put them off?

OP posts:
DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 16:21

Been having cramps a bit but I just put that down to BH and being 38 weeks pg?

Hi everyone!! Another birth! Woohoo!

CONGRATS NATTY AND DH AND WELCOME TO THE WORLD LITTLE ELLEN!!

I've just updated the stats thread for the world to see!

Pre congrats to lilkel, are you excited??

Hope everyone has had a good sunny day xx

sputnik · 24/05/2007 16:33

We hadn't even got around to discussing the visitors issue! He made the invite and then was off out the door, which was why poor MIL got the brunt of my pissed-offness. Wherupon she complained to him therefore he got pissed off with me.
And he's not even Italian! I honestly think he'd just kind of let the birth thing slip his mind when he said that, as he didn't say anything like "and then you can meet the new baby" or whatever. Ho hum.
Really must go and get DD.

trendaverter · 24/05/2007 16:40

Hi Hollyandalice, can you please add me to the stats? due 3/6/07

hollyandalice · 24/05/2007 16:42
