Right I am off to make some sarnies before collecting the 2 littlies and taking them over to the park for a picnic.

Am feeling very satisfied for doing absolutely nothing since 9.40 this morning.

(I did a lot before 8.45 though)

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 11:12

I felt like bitch slapping her actually, but kept a cheery grin on my face......she's an old friend of DH and his mates and no-one speaks to her any more because she is an evil cow.....one of these people who's always smiling, but only with her mouth...never with her eyes!!

Just had the HV over, and she seemed v nice. Although I did start to go off her a bit when she asked how much longer I had to go and I said 4 weeks and she looked at me in horror and said there doesn't look like there's much more room!

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 11:54

why do health professionals do that? You'd think they would know what to say or not say to a hormonal and emotional very pregnant woman.

Looks like your local NHS trust has skimped on the charm lessons for MWs/HVs

Hi all,

I was gonna announce the arrival of my bouncy baby boy but it seems it has been done.

Callum is doing really well. The premature birth is not having any negative effects at all which is fantastic!!!

I'm so lucky that i got to 36 weeks and he was a good weight. The fear was that i wouldn't make it to the 34 week stage (anything before has serious concerns) but my bloods were doig brilliantly and there was talk of me getting to 38 but at 35 plus weeks BANG things got bad and the decision was made to induce there and then.

I won't say how the labour was as it won't be what you guys will want to hear right now

Thank you all for your support when i was fretting earlier about my OC and thank you all for your congrats and good wishes i have since received.

Good luck to you all for your forthcoming arrivals

xxx

bumperlicious · 24/05/2007 11:59

Ah nannjo - sorry your thunder has been stolen - but we are all so happy for you! Glad all is going well. Keep us updated (if you have the time!) and I think it is a wise move on the labour part - esp for us first timers! It's getting to the stage where we only need to hear nice things then w can compare horror stories afterwards!

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 12:03

Hi Nannyjo and big congratulations on the birth of Callum.....I caught the post your SIL put up and spread the word. We were all quite excited as you were the first Junie...but c'mon spill the beans about your birth story...it's all no holds barred ghastly truth on here don't you know

Glad you are doing well and hope Callum continues to thrive...

One of our other mums, seansgirl has just found out she has OC so they're keeping a close eye on her too!

Sorry not caught up yet but just read something that caught my eye... NO DO NOT TAKE st. John's wort when preg !!!!!!!
Will explain later...
Congratulations nannyjo xxxx

notsolilKel · 24/05/2007 12:34

St John's Wort is also called Hypericum, right? Interesting because I have some of that to take after my section to help with nerve damage...hmmm

mytwocents · 24/05/2007 12:37

Yes Kel, is strong stuff and not toowell researched yet... I've got work to do but will come back to it later..
You well? XX

LOVED foxy's post around 10.25!! Cant wait to have a long bath with my tiny little new baby.......

Twiga · 24/05/2007 13:02

Just flying in while lunch is cooking but wow three more babies on the way in the next day or two, how exciting! Looking fwd to reading all the news. Nice to see you Nannyjo, glad things are well.

BadZelda · 24/05/2007 13:14

from Natty (13.08pm)

"ANNOUNCEMENT! Baby ellen born today 10.42 weight 6lb5oz."

Twiga · 24/05/2007 13:22

Hurray!!! BZ, pass on my congratulations - lovely and make it all feel bit closer for the rest of us as each baby arrives!

TALLULAHBELLE · 24/05/2007 13:24

Wow - congrats to Natty. Welcome Ellen. .
Right - who's next?

TALLULAHBELLE · 24/05/2007 13:34

Hi TA. Was really interested to read your comments re ambivalence. I have felt like that all the way through. Baby was planned but all happened really quickly and don't think ever really have got my head around it. Friends and family have commented that they seem more excited than I am. Have yet to 'bond' with bump am just hoping that all changes once baby here.

BTW - my DH is a crow eater. I lived in Adelaide for 3 years (Broadview /Nailsworth) and used to work in Prospect. DH desperate to return home. How does your DH find living in UK?

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 13:34

Just got Natty's text and see BZ has beat me to it......gosh that was quick!

CONGRATULATIONS Natty xxx

notsolilKel · 24/05/2007 13:34

Hooray Ellen!!!! Hooray Natty!!!!!

OMG OMG this time tomorrow I'll have another baby!!!! Really. No more wondering!!

How did this happen? I mean, is it really tomorrow? How is it that I am only just starting to realise I've been pregnant for 39 weeks...???

Seriously I am getting very excited. A little nervous. Scenes from DH&H and manhandling of babies out of women's abdomens haunting me a bit. I know it's routine, but what if something goes wrong? What if the baby has 3 heads? What if it's a boy? What if it's a baby giraffe instead?? AHHHHHGGGHHHHH

I'll be strolling into the ward at 8am hoping for prep by 9 and baby by lunchtime, so let's call it 22 hours to go?

Twiga · 24/05/2007 13:40

You'll be just fine - at you getting to hold your baby so soon , four weeks feeling like a lifetime still here.

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 13:44

I was just thinking about you earlier Lilkel, and this time tomorow it'll be all over...or should that be just beginning...

Having had a section, i can tell you it'll be fine. The delivery is very quick and if they give you the baby to cuddle whilst they sew you up, you don't notice the time....of course that could have just been a drug induced time warp I was in after about 16 hours of labour and no sleep for over 48 hours!!

OP posts:
sputnik · 24/05/2007 13:45

Woooo Natty
Knew she was a poppin

sputnik · 24/05/2007 13:48

We'll all be rooting for you Lilkel.
I think a baby giraffe would've been picked up on a scan
Know what you mean though.

DaisysGotABigBump · 24/05/2007 13:54

Mine feels more like an octopus at the moment

trendaverter · 24/05/2007 14:02

Hi Tallulah,

My god you are my double or something, lol

I feel exactly the same. I think however that I had better get used to it quick, I am due in 9 days

I came off the pill and it happened much faster than I thought, to this day even with nursery's all done etc I haven't quite got my head round it.

Wow lots of Aussies - my DH is pretty happy here, he doesn't miss Aus. I gave him the option to move back, I was honestly supportive of what he wanted (because tbh I do NOT want to raise kid around here, dodgy grafitti estate!) but he says he does not think of Aus as 'home' anymore.

Do YOU want to go back?

BadZelda · 24/05/2007 14:12

Hello there

Yep - was wondering if I'd cross-post with you daisy...as you were so on the ball at 6am this morning, whilst I was in the land of nod... Just had time in between fielding phone calls from client who doesn't seem to have it quite in their head I AM FINISHING WORK TODAY so consequently won't have time to do those several extra jobs you've just come up with!

Went to a homebirth seminar at Kings this morning - it was packed! Then got to see the midwife after, all good, bp pretty much normal and baby is head down and 4/5ths engaged although apparently they have still been known to flip. Also have some leucosites (sp?) in my urine (whatever that means).

Oddly baby's heart rate is down as 120 this time - but I'm sure it was 138 last time...hmmm wonder if that's a pink or blue one?
