oh goody we can be in blissful ignorance together

hollyandalice · 23/05/2007 19:57

There are loads of first timers on here, but none seem to be here tonight, just us loose women (aka those who have babies already)!!

DaisysGotABigBump · 23/05/2007 20:00

Holly, that made me wince and I've sort of done this before.....he never made it through the front door though so I was spared that bit of it!

LOL Derlor reading "It's arrived"...I thought "what's she complaining about if she can spit them out that quickly"

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 23/05/2007 20:00

hello!
I'm a first timer too - hence the name!
Hope everyone is well tonight!?

hollyandalice · 23/05/2007 20:00

Sorry everyone, I'm not being very nice and fluffy tonight! Must be in a bad mood. Why the fark do I have the football on? There aren't even any men in the house? I'm clearly mental!

DaisysGotABigBump · 23/05/2007 20:00

Loose women, LOL...speak for yourself!!

Are we back on the chipolata and Oxford St conversation?

TA and Kitty - sorry, no more talk of the joyful and positively life affirming experience that is childbirth!

Thanks Derlor - think I'd better go easy on the mangoes as it is a little too soon for labour just yet, I think I would like to cook for a little longer...

annobal · 23/05/2007 20:02

LOL Holly - I am about to escape to the bedroom and Property Ladder so I don't have to watch Milan v Liverpool.

hollyandalice · 23/05/2007 20:02

Ok then daisy, we'll just call ourselves the Tena Ladies !!

hollyandalice · 23/05/2007 20:03

Good for you annobal! I think I may just turn it over, I am a fool!

foxybrown · 23/05/2007 20:04

Kittykit - that wasn't to make you feel more adequate, I was SHOUTING it at you

Yes Holly! That bit is the worst! ow ow ow! 2nd time that was the most scary point, but 3rd time I know I was just one push away from it being over, so it was OK. Am focussing on keeping it positive.

Evening DKMA!

I feel like shite again now as just shouted (well, screamed is a better description) as DS2 to go to bed. He really doesn't need his spiderman slippers or to borrow a pink blanket and he is completely knackered. And I was in the bath.

Earlier tonight he asked for a "Duvet Day" tomorrow. He'll be complaining of Executive Stress next! He's 4 FFS!!!

DaisysGotABigBump · 23/05/2007 20:04

....

....our conversations do seem to go around in circles don't they? We'll be lusting after JD and yon man from Prison Break before long

OP posts:
foxybrown · 23/05/2007 20:06

Yes, it was mango juice.

hollyandalice · 23/05/2007 20:07

Mmmmm...mangoes! I bet you have to eat/drink about 50 of them for it to work. Like pineapples, you have to eat 7 of those for the prostaglandins to kick in!

juliewoolie · 23/05/2007 20:07

Hello lovely June ladies just popping my head in the door to say I am positive I will be joining you all in JUne saw my Doc today and she said she thinks i will go to 42wks. Blimey am having the longest pregnancy known to man.

Have a fab night.

DaisysGotABigBump · 23/05/2007 20:08

LOL Foxy...my Ds said I needed to spend more quality time with him rather than sitting on the computer all day

He came out with another blinder today...
He asked me what would happen to my tummy after the baby was born and would it go back to normal.
I said yeah eventually, but to begin with it'll be a bit like a let down balloon..

..he pondered this for a second or two then asked, quite innocently "so what'll happen to your bum, then?"

DaisysGotABigBump · 23/05/2007 20:09

some of us might even beat you to it then Julie.....sorry

DaisysGotABigBump · 23/05/2007 20:10

I'd rather eat 50 mangoes than 7 pineapples

annobal · 23/05/2007 20:11

Lol Foxy. Hope the bath has helped

Hi Juliewoo, we'd love for you to join us in June but for your sake I hope not.

On another matter entirely, I went to the chiro yesterday and after adjusting my pelvis, baby has engaged!

BadZelda · 23/05/2007 20:11

Hello everyone - you've all been super chatty today! Glad to hear that you're mostly sounding like you're keeping your spirits up despite adversity

We've been on a family trip to the seaside today and had great luck in the rockpools - sea urchins, shrimps, blennies, crabs...who would have thought it in Bexhill? Lovely weather for it. Know what you mean about shoes for girls...doesn't help that Ella's already developed a small obsession with them...I was sorting out all her old clothes and couldn't believe how many shoes she'd accumulated in less than 2 and a half years.

R.e. cryptic message this morning, got an email from the publisher saying he's definitely interested in the novel. Was rather gobsmacked as I wrote it last century, and had kind of resigned myself to its never seeing the light of day...so now wondering how many revisions I can fit in before d-day. Baby, you can be a little late if you like...

I'm also excited as I'm seeing the community midwife tomorrow...haven't seen one in six weeks so I'm looking forward to finding out what way up baby is, etc...don't have a clue as to probable size either, so that will be interesting...anyway I'm rambling: sorry for long post.

hollyandalice · 23/05/2007 20:12

Hi juliewoolie! We can send you some virtual RLT, evening primrose oil, mangoes, pineapples etc. if you like! Apparently "oral prostaglandins" work better than the other way, just don't let your dp read this!! Hope you baby makes an appearance soon!

PMSL at mystic red ranger! He is a card! He should have his own "things children say" type show!

annobal · 23/05/2007 20:13

BZ - congratulations on the novel - that's great news!!

foxybrown · 23/05/2007 20:13

Congratulations BZ! That's amazing news.

Of course you do realise we've been sat here all day waiting for you to come back and let us in on the news whilst you've been off rockpooling.....

BadZelda · 23/05/2007 20:13

hollyandalice · 23/05/2007 20:14

Hi BZ! Sounds like a fun day! My dd has a loft full of clothes and shoes, but I can't bear to get rid of them! They are all too beautiful!
