Oooh sex scan @Limp, how exciting. Do you have any preference?

Summer1986 · 08/06/2018 18:21

Hoping your scan goes well too @Limp

LimpLettice · 08/06/2018 18:48

Thank you. Not a preference. Possibly a girl, purely to spite my mother who is fixated on it being a boy. And maybe coz a girl is what I know. But a boy would be very exciting too. DD wants a girl, obvs, although either way Grin. DD being 8 means I e long since got rid of baby stuff so no existing bits to reuse anyway.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 08/06/2018 19:41

@LimpLettice. I was convinced my second DD was a boy - when she was born I asked the midwife what she was and when she said "Its a girl" I was like "Are you sure?" 😂

LimpLettice · 09/06/2018 08:52

We were all absolutely convinced DD would be a little dark headed boy. Blonde, blue eyed DD was a delightful shock! I'm a bit nervous for today too. I've felt mild movement since stupidly early but it's very sporadic. I'll feel much better when I'm getting properly punted Grin

Si1ver · 09/06/2018 12:48

Scan went fine. Everything as it should be and we have a heartbeat.

LimpLettice · 09/06/2018 13:36

Oh S1lver that's marvellous news!

Ours went great too. We are having a boy! Bit of a shock, I thought girl, but I'm really excited. Off out to drink appletise in a beer garden and celebrate. Boy!!

Yay, well done on all the successful scans Yammers x

LookingAtTheStars89 · 09/06/2018 14:17

@Si1ver. Eeek! Lovely. When is your EDD?

@limplettice #TeamBlue How perfect :-)

Si1ver · 09/06/2018 15:36

@LimpLettice lovely news. Tell your mum it's a girl though

@LookingAtTheStars89 EDD end of January 2019, so more likely beginning of Feb really.

SoozC · 09/06/2018 16:10

Whoo, Limp! It's a boy, how exciting! Hope your dd isn't too disappointed Wink

WonkyDonk87 · 09/06/2018 18:05

Lovely news all round!!

Si1ver I reckon I'll not be far behind you by my dates. Don't know how I'll make it through the next two weeks, it's going to drag!

LimpLettice · 09/06/2018 21:44

Haha. Mums already unbearable smug. I'll let her, I guess.

Lovely Milk. Happy scans and thread babies everywhere. Perfect.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 09/06/2018 21:48

@LimpLettice. I'm dreading felling my mother! She'll give be the whole "You already have DD's" spiel or "Costs so much" or "wasting your life" Hmm A real bundle of positivity!! She actually cried when I told her I was pregnant last time. She's not the same with my brother though, he's expecting at the end of November and it's the best news ever Hmm

LookingAtTheStars89 · 09/06/2018 21:49

*telling

LimpLettice · 10/06/2018 07:20

Looking really? That's so negative, I'm sorry she's so difficult. My mum is beyond excited and really very supportive despite my being a bit decrepit. Dad pretty much cried when I told him he's getting a grandson, although he cried over DD too. Trouble with my mum is I think I'm sensitive - she very much favoured my brother, even though he's a grade a arsehole and we are totally NC, and I think her obsession with having a boy has put my nose out of joint for mine and DDs sake. Also I'm pregnant and irrational, obviously ha.

I'm finally starting to believe in all this now. Got a family thing today in a town with a massive Mothercare superstore, so we're going to nose at pushchairs / travel systems before the party and I'm getting all excited.

Si1ver · 10/06/2018 10:00

What are you thinking, re travel systems @Limp?

Sorry your mum's being a dick @Dreamers

My morning sickness has kicked in full throttle. 🤢

Sorry to hear it, Si1ver. I got extremely lucky, I think, regarding morning sickness. I hope it tails off soon.

LimpLettice · 10/06/2018 20:16

Sorry S1lver been so hectic today! Lots of comments on my enormo bump. No, it's not twins, nope, my dates are correct, yes I'm sure. But thanks for pointing out how vast it already is 🙄

Hope the sickness settles. I never actually vomited but felt horribly nauseous til about 14 weeks. Hope yours settles quicker.

We looked at loads but specifically the 4 wheel Mothercare journey system. It's an excellent price and while the trendy brands are undoubtedly a bit nicer, I drive everywhere, like a sling and am just not fussed about brand. And actually I like it a lot. I also spent £20 on 4 pairs of pants. 4. Ffs. But I need over bumps and the time has come.

I'm liking the travel system suggestion, Limp! I have my dating scan Thursday then I'll feel like I can get all excited about these things too! Although I have bought a few bits. But somehow 12-week scan seems like the milestone then it can all become official.

LimpLettice · 10/06/2018 21:35

Yes please Milk. Although I'm not sure I can be fecked with an entire evening! It is nice, and the teal / Black is pleasingly bright. We are in a good financial position and I'm aware that we don't need to skimp which is a huge change from when I had DD, but I still love a bargain and I was impressed with the quality.

I've bought a few mat bits but nothing baby, I've been too scared. I so get you Sooz. Scarily I outed us on fb today, something about this scan has clicked my excitement on at long last, and browsing Mothercare was actually fun!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 11/06/2018 21:35

I am having full on panic this evening! Out of nowhere I'm sat here like "What if it goes wrong?" "What if it's an ectopic? I could die!" It's not like me. I just feel filled with dread Sad
