Thanks ladies. I've had one if those mornings already! DD got some bloody metanium (bright yellow skin cream!) on her summer dress! So I had to search for her other school clothes at the last minute. I have to go for my next big draw in 30 mins as well. I'm trying to stay calm (don't think it's working!)

@WonkyDonk87 😂 I have an overactive bladder (thinks I need to pee a lot!) So I never fill up for ultrasounds. I simply tell them that I can't. Luckily my uterus/ovaries sit forward (so I've been told) so it's not too much of an issue.

Hi ladies :-) I have been dated at 6w 1d I thought I was maybe 6w 6d so it's not too far off right? She said they are a bit scrunched up at this stage. There was a good strong heartbeat. I cried when she found it!

Summer1986 · 25/06/2018 14:28

Congratulations @looking, pleased all is well for you! I think at that stage a few days out is nothing and the strong HB is the main thing :)

Am 39w today and not loving the heatwave!

SoozC · 25/06/2018 18:14

Hurrah for a strong heartbeat! So glad to hear you had a good scan, Looking! I remember being emotional seeing this one's heartbeat for the first time; I'd only had empty sacs before then. Hopefully you can relax for a bit now!

Si1ver · 25/06/2018 18:48

That's fab news @LookingAtTheStars89

LimpLettice · 25/06/2018 21:25

Lovely Looking, and yep dates can be a bit iffy at this stage. Mind you I thought that but they've stayed with that meaning I likely conceived a bit before we think.

Summer you have my sympathy. I'm huge for 19 weeks and really starting to suffer, you must be fed up with it. Wishing you a greased grape delivery not too far over Grin

WonkyDonk87 · 26/06/2018 17:50

@LookingAtTheStars89 That's fab news! Are you feeling more relaxed now? I think my scan helped. Having what would be a relaxing time on holiday - if it weren't for my worsening acne, feeling fat and rocketing hormones. Had to lock myself away for an hour earlier for a cry in our bedroom 🤦🏽‍♀️.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 26/06/2018 17:57

@WonkyDonk87. I am still on tenter hooks lol. I got my HcG levels through this morning and they were 33,000 which is good. I booked my midwife appointment, which is on Friday.

I'm craving sugar but terrified to eat it in case it messes up the baby hormones! My Lovely pcos hair is still growing on my neck Angry. No spots though which is a plus! I'm feeling fat too, my stomach is quite bloated.

Are you tired? I could sleep for England! I feel sick as a dog in the mornings too - my IbS has flared up so I was in a predicament this morning where I didn't know which end I should have over the toilet 😂😂😂

WonkyDonk87 · 26/06/2018 19:07

No sickness here, but definitely more tired. Sleep is all over the place which doesn't help.
I haven't done my midwife referral yet Blush Will do it tomorrow.

My sleep is so broken and the tiredness is still shit. 20 weeks on Monday. Sickness has settled though.

Bump is a bit weird this week, smaller in the mornings and huge by the afternoon, which is odd.

Ha ha. Might be a good sport but even better as a delivery method. It's what I'm hoping for this time. I have my birth choices meeting next month to talk the midwives into avoiding early induction and a nice mobile birth. Think I'll avoid the phrase but aim for the image 🙄

Si1ver · 27/06/2018 08:07

I was woken up last night with stretching pains round my stomach and pelvis. That's normal right?

@Limp my midwife told me I could have any sort of birth I wanted and talked about home water births a lot. I think I might love her a bit.

LimpLettice · 27/06/2018 08:34

Totally normal S1lver

Consultant was very positive that I could use the mw unit and avoid unnecessary interventions but that head mw on the unit will get the final say. The geriatric thing fucks me right off!

Si1ver · 27/06/2018 08:38

How old are you Limp? Geriatric classification is different everywhere apparently. My GP was insistent that I was geriatric when I miscarried but my midwife said that they don't class you as geriatric until over 40.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 27/06/2018 08:40

@Si1ver. I imagine it's your uterus stretching to accommodate :-)

I wish I had birth options, a home birth sounds lovely.

I already know mine will be induction at 37.5 weeks - epidural at the onset of labour and a team of anaethetists/midwives/consultants in an out!
Because of my bloody airway problem they have to try to avoid the need for section or anything problematic Sad.

It didn't put me off wanting to have another baby though as my birth was beautifully managed. I did have to travel 70 odd miles away though! I wasn't allowed to have DD at the hospital I was having my antenatal care at. They told me if I went into labour at home then they'd air lift me to the other hospital Shock I was very glad I didn't have to do that as I would have been petrified lol.

Si1ver · 27/06/2018 09:07

@LookingAtTheStars89 the certainty of what's going to happen must be nice though?

My husband is not keen on the idea of a home birth. I suspect I'll end up at the hospital round the corner as the midwife unit is on the other side of the city and my husband doesn't drive. It's so weird to be thinking about these things, all the stuff that I never let myself think about previously and now I need to come up with actual answers.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 27/06/2018 09:19

@Si1ver. 😂 My husband was thoroughly freaked out about idea of a home birth! He'd rather we have the opportunity to give birth closer to home this time but honestly I don't mind travelling. It is nice to know there's a bit of a set time and date yeah.

LimpLettice · 27/06/2018 09:21

I'm 40, I'll be 41 by the time baby arrives S1lver. So technically geriatric. I don't look or feel it, I might add, but there you are.

Birth options therefore should be induction at 38 weeks, delivery suite, monitoring through labour. But I hated all that with DD, had a straightforward 6 hour labour, and was really miserable stuck on the ward after. Promised myself a Home birth if I ever did it again but realise that is a bit out of the question now. I suppose I feel full term but active on the mw unit is a good compromise.

FuckMyUterus · 27/06/2018 09:26

Hi guys, can I join? Recognise a few of you from TTC after miscarriage threads. I'm anywhere between 9 weeks and 13 1/2 weeks (extremely light last 'period) and I have a dating scan tomorrow. I've had quite a few losses and safe to say I am sh*tting myself for tomorrow :(

Si1ver · 27/06/2018 09:44

@LimpLettice you don't look geriatric in the slightest 😘 it's good that you know what you want though. I hope you get it.

@LookingAtTheStars89 I think I put the nail in the coffin for a home birth by telling my husband that my midwife had assisted in a home birth in a pool with a dog licking her foot. He went a bit green and insistent that the dog wasn't going to be at the birth no matter what happened.

Hi @FuckMyUterus, excellent user name. Come on in. Good luck for tomorrow.

LimpLettice · 27/06/2018 10:05

Fingers crossed for tomorrow FuckMy. This is my fourth pregnancy in the last year, so every scan has been a total terror - but odds are in your favour.

Thank you S1lver. My booking in mw was a student, all of about, er, 14, and was really shocked at my age (preens) but then I thought, well what were you expecting, silver hair in rollers and a cane? It's only 40! Mind you I am already pretty much the oldest mum on the playground now (fairly deprived area) so I daresay I will get called grandma an awful lot when this one reaches y3.

Hi Yammers. Today is my mc EDD. Not a happy day anyway and got chewed out by my head before school this morning about something. Hate my job and really wish I was already on maternity like I was supposed to be.
I am thankful for this pregnancy though. Just having a bad day.
