Hope scans gone just dandy Sooz. 🤞🏻

Sitting waiting to see my consultant, all seems a bit pointless really nus based on a birthday. Ah well might mean nice extra scans.

SoozC · 14/06/2018 12:36

All okay! Soooooo relieved! Saw little bean wriggling and hiccuping, such a good sight! Smile

LimpLettice · 14/06/2018 14:18

Woohoo! Bit invested in yours Sooz heh.

Had a good appt actually. I seem to have a lot of spots booked. 3 extra scans to monitor growth, gtt for gest diabetes, extras with the consultant, but I'm happy with that. Heartbeat and position consistent with scans etc, he seems to be doing well. Consultant says final decision is with the lead midwife but I should be fine to use the midwife unit and avoid early induction as long as I stay as healthy, which is a relief. She agreed that for some monitoring is better than risking cascade of intervention and was really understanding that I'm a bit worried about risking forceps or god knows what now I'm a bit older.

WonkyDonk87 · 14/06/2018 14:55

Great news @SoozC!! Hope it helps to settle any anxieties

@LimpLettice Sounds like they've got you well covered! Your mention of forceps has made me feel a bit Confused

LookingAtTheStars89 · 14/06/2018 21:39

@SoozC. Ahh lovely 😍 Well done x

Can anyone reassure me about symptoms? I was never expecting much, as my mother and sisters never had anything more than a bit of nausea and tiredness. My tits have swollen up a size and were really sore to start with, but have now eased off a bit and I have to poke them to feel the ache. I'm a bit tired after work, but not a shattered as I was a week or so ago. No real nausea (again not surprised) or anything else really. It's a week until my reassurance scan, and I know it won't make a difference either way but I'd like to not be completely distracted/despondent for a week.

Can someone give my head a wobble and tell me that fluctuations are normal?

LookingAtTheStars89 · 15/06/2018 10:45

@WonkyDonk87. I don't know if this is reassuring but I'm pretty much the same. I have the odd wave of nausea and I'm a bit tired but apart from that there's not much else.

LimpLettice · 15/06/2018 11:04

Wonky mine have come and gone the whole way through and I am still very much up the duff. I would have a few days of nothing, followed by concrete boobs for a week. I know it can be a bad sign, I am afraid to say, but equally not. Friend of mine had no symptoms after the first few days, then nothing until 22 weeks when her sickness is back with a vengeance. Repeat after me I am pregnant today. It is all you can do!

WonkyDonk87 · 15/06/2018 11:10

Thanks ladies. I know I just need a head-wobble and a good night's sleep.
Limp I'll repeat it in my head, our offices aren't that soundproof!

Thanks, guys! I feel like I can talk about it now, had some lovely messages from the people we've told and feel a relief that I can talk about it at school and not have people think I'm just skiving from jobs!

Definitely feeling better, Milk. No idea how long it'll last but good to have it for a bit at least!

Wonky, I've not really had much in the way of symptoms since the beginning. Don't panic, it doesn't necessarily mean there's something wrong.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 15/06/2018 20:30

I'm at that awkward dry retching stage Confused

SoozC · 16/06/2018 19:29

I found Ritz crackers just amazing, Looking! Bit salty, nice and dry...I had a box by my bed and would just munch a couple if I felt bad. Haven't touched them for a few weeks, though. Not sure I'll eat them again for a while!

I have been having a fluttery little stomach recently. I know it's too early to feel movement, but it's nice to think that it may happen sometime soon. I absolutely cannot WAIT! I finally bought some more maternity bits, just to last me through the summer, so nothing with too much of a bump bit, but some easy trousers etc.

Speaking of my belly, at my scan on Thursday it really hurt when the sonographer was trying to get a good angle. My belly felt bruised afterwards. It feels a bit bruised still, but I can't decide if that's from the scan or because my trousers are getting a little tight. Anyone else feel bruised around 12 weeks?!

Also, do you think pregnancy yoga is a good way to try and stay toned? I have a family beach holiday in the summer hols and want to look a little slimmer around my bum and thighs as they're currently huge (not pregnancy-related, just fat!). Do you think it would be okay to do a prenatal yoga thing 3-4 times a week? And do you think it'll help?! I have relatives I'd rather not show my fat thighs to if I can help it...

LookingAtTheStars89 · 16/06/2018 19:59

@SoozC. Ah thanks, it hasn't been too bad today, it's my airways giving me gyp now! I've snoozed on and off for most of the day too lol. I haven't really had experience of that feeling after a baby ultrasound but after I had my PCOS ultrasound I was in A LOT of discomfort for a few days after, it was like someone had punched me in the stomach!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 16/06/2018 20:01

@SoozC. Can you find a pregnancy yoga class?

DoAsDreamersDo · 16/06/2018 20:42

Sooz I felt a bit bruised after my 12 week scan. Baby wouldn’t get into a position for the neck measurement so she kept really prodding me to get him/her to turn around. I think I felt it for a couple of days after.

I'm planning on doing both pregnancy fitness and yoga classes if it sticks etc etc plus as much walking as possible. I'd love to say I'd do swimming but I'm not a particularly strong swimmer so hate it.
@SoozC Those flutters sound exciting Smile

SoozC · 16/06/2018 22:14

Thanks, Dreamers, sounds like we had similar experiences.

I can't join a pregnancy yoga class because a) my DH has anxiety so the less time I'm out the better and b) they all seem to be on a Monday morning at 10:30am, which is wholly unhelpful to the full-time employed! I've seen pregnancy Zumba and pregnancy water workout but they're all for people who can work flexibly or women who don't work. :(

WonkyDonk87 · 16/06/2018 22:25

Would a dvd work? Perhaps DH could do it with you? Grin

SoozC · 16/06/2018 22:34

No space! It would be nice, though. I have ordered a dvd so will just do that on my own and see if it helps me look a little slimmer.

Damn, over 2 years to get preggers properly and I still didn't manage to lose the weight I wanted to.

LimpLettice · 17/06/2018 08:38

Midwives gave me loads of gumpf on aqua Zumba, yoga, Pilates, baby start groups, you name it, and every single one is during the day in the week. I wonder who gets to go to them? Certainly not me, that's for sure.

Just gonna leave this here... Grin

NimbleKnitter · 17/06/2018 09:35

Swimming is the best! Yeah, the steps aren't great, but it's the greatest feeling having some of the weight supported.

I can't see anything but stomach these days, so have had to stop shaving my legs. But to honest, no-one cares.

And I swim more now than before, just because I don't want to face the reality of getting out. I fully intend to live there once mat leave starts in two weeks

NimbleKnitter · 17/06/2018 09:36

Ps pregnancy yoga won't shift any weight.

It's mostly lying on the floor
