wonky I think that may need to be my first baby purchase 😂

I wish I had a swimming pool near me! I don’t drive and there’s none that I can get to by public transport. I could join the gym at work and use the pool there, but no way am I getting into a costume in front of work colleagues!

Definitely want to do swimming, just have to take DH with me to sit in the cafe. I used to go every week and swim in the heated lido - amazing in the winter with the steam rolling off!

I'm going to buy a sarong or something. That'll hide the flab on the beach!

Does anyone use cocoa butter for stretchmarks? Or is there a better cream?

Thanks Milk I might give one a go then. Sort of makes me think of baby related timeshare events Smile

I love that vest Wonkydonk! Bit obscure to most but we'd all recognise each other I guess.

Loathe swimming in the UK. Changing rooms, bare feet on those floors, with other people hair on them Envy pasty white flab on parade, I just can't do it! I realise I'm over squeamish though ha. Have been trying to walk more but thus far this pregnancy is the same as the last, all bump no extra flab, so I'll not panic yet.

NimbleKnitter · 17/06/2018 15:18

Stretch marks are largely genetic - you're either going to get them or you aren't. Wouldn't bother with the cream (I say this having bought a super expensive one, and not having used it since week 7)

SoozC · 17/06/2018 17:07

Limp, can I just say I find your mantra of "Today, I am pregnant" hugely reassuring. I say it to myself every day and it is a good, positive reminder to focus on!

Summer1986 · 17/06/2018 17:19

I've really enjoyed going to aquanatal classes, the one in my area is quite late at night though so havnt managed to go every week due to tiredness, highly reccomend them if available. Also I'm still managing the step latter to get in and out at almost 38w!

DoAsDreamersDo · 17/06/2018 20:33

Ive got the cocoa butter for stretch marks. I’ve no idea if it’ll work, but it smells lovely and is a nice body cream if nothing else.

SoozC · 18/06/2018 16:02

Thanks guys, I might get some anyway, if only just to enjoy giving my growing belly a rub and reveling in my pregnancy (is that weird?)! My mum said she had lots of stretchmarks but they've pretty much faded now. So I'll have to live with it!

NimbleKnitter · 18/06/2018 18:27

I got my first one this weekend. I know exactly when it happened - I felt the layer of skin tear. Sure enough, it appeared this morning.

🙄

Sooz - give it a go, and get something that smells nice, but keep in mind you might not want to use it. I can't stand anything touching my abdomen since the skin got so stretched

LimpLettice · 18/06/2018 19:57

It's kept me sane Sooz. Mostly.

Stretch marks, meh. I was hugggggge with dd, but very proud of my lack of stretch marks, due to diligent applications of bio oil. Until I mentioned it at my 38 week midwife appt. She sort of goggled, then got me a mirror and showed my the underside of the enormo bump. Fuck it. They did all fade mostly, I'm sure they will again.

SoozC · 18/06/2018 21:31

That made me giggle, Limp, sorry! Grin

RhiBee29 · 18/06/2018 21:37

I feel like my skin is being pulled really tight, had no stretch marks with DS but much bigger this time round so think I'm going to get a few.

Going on hols soon and dreading the swimsuit...how are you all managing the bikini line de-fuzzing? Funding it very awkward!

It was sorta meant to Sooz. I laughed once I realised it was never all going to ping back anyway, what's one more battle scar Grin

Hahaha Milk. I must say I'm not the fussed, electric strimmer good enough for me but that's work!

RhiBee29 · 19/06/2018 12:50

Love it @Milknosugar1

WonkyDonk87 · 19/06/2018 13:46

My colleague's just announced she's 14 weeks pregnant. My boss is going to be so pleased when I tell her I am too 🤦🏽‍♀️

RhiBee29 · 19/06/2018 16:56

@WonkyDonk87 there's 4 of us in my office, my boss is tearing his hair out Confused

WonkyDonk87 · 19/06/2018 17:54

I'm mostly fretting because one of my colleagues couldn't have children and has recently had a hysterectomy. Really really shit timing to have two women upduffed in the office. I feel awful.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 19/06/2018 20:19

I told the nurse today that I was anxious about another mc and I hoped she'd offer a reassurance scan - no - she did an hcg blood draw! I feel even more anxious about getting that call tomorrow than I would have been going for a scan!!

LimpLettice · 20/06/2018 10:51

Everything crossed Looking but I am sure it will all be fine.

Wonky I do feel for her, I really struggled with a pregnant colleague last year whilst ttc and through miscarriages, but I was always aware that was my thing not hers. At least you are aware and won't spend hours rubbing your bump and doing full balloon gender reveals in the office - my colleague did (and I thought, close friend) and it was unbearable.

SoozC · 20/06/2018 12:53

Oh god, balloon gender reveals? At work? As if anyone is interested enough in someone else's pregnancy. Let's face it, the patents and maybe grandparents are keen to know the gender but for everyone else it's just a baby.

I've been thinking about doing a balloon gender reveal for my parents (alhough Dad said I'm not a traditionalist for wanting to find out at 20 weeks!). Just one balloon though, in a box so they open it and it floats out. Too cheesy?! Grin

LimpLettice · 20/06/2018 13:05

It's extremely cheesy Grin but so what?! With your own parents, not in front of good friends who've not long miscarried? Fun and lovely.
