sometimes you wonder if play dates with friends kids whose behaviour is not the best if its worth it? My friends DD has really vile tantrums so much so the last one (this girl is just 4 BTW) when my friend was telling her off she just screamed at her " go away mummy I hate you your breath smells of poo!" must admit DD looked completely bewildered and I just prayed she wasn't taking notes for future reference ....... Have another friend who lets her DD get everthing out - abandon it everyway - trample on it when running around - and doesn't get her to tidy up .....me on the other hand....

Daisybump · 04/05/2007 17:49

I know what you mean Seansgirl....

its like the BBC programmer who thought it was a good idea to put The House of Tiny Tearaways on at 7:00pm....all it does is give DS ideas!!

annobal · 04/05/2007 17:49

A friend of mine's LO used to bite her - she would try not to respond as she didn't want to draw attention to it - he was drawing blood

bumperlicious · 04/05/2007 17:53

Glad everyone is back and feeling a bit more perked up. Thank Crunchie it's friday! Anyone got any exciting plans for the bank holiday weekend? DH has to work Saturday and Sunday which also means we probably won't do anything on Monday as he will be knackered. So I will probably spent most of the time on here or shopping.

I can empathise with what Foxy said earlier about feeling like you've wasted a whole day on here and being really cross with yourself, especially the other day with all the thread horridness. I'm very impressed at those of you who are tidying and cleaning. I'm too uncomfortable to do anything at the moment and am being pathetic! I'm glad this is my first as I can be pretty self indulgent, I don't how you guys manage who have other DCs to look after.

I hope I feel physically better after the LO is born. I've been so miserable this pg, that I kind of want to prove to everyone afterward that I'm going to be a good mum, and be laid back and positive and obviously look fantastic! But I have a horrid suspicion that it will be 6 weeks before I even get dressed and longer before I can leave the house! I feel like I've really wallowed in negativity and lethargy this pg, so hopefully you guys can give me a kick up the arse when we all go post-natal!

sputnik · 04/05/2007 17:58

OMG Seansgirl that is like 10 miles up the road from us!
I bet I know who they're staying with too, I've had quite a bit to do with tourism in our area.

hollyandalice · 04/05/2007 18:00

Daisy...go away, you are supposed to be having a nap !

OMG! I just cried at Neighbours! Somebody shoot me now!

OMG...I'm a waster...I haven't been able to drag myself away All Bloody Day....think I'm being assimilated by the computer desk...a bit like a borg in star trek.

I'm switching the computer off...I'm walking away...no...go away...I can't hear you....aaaaaarrrrrrggh

Manyana!

foxybrown · 04/05/2007 18:31

Ha ha ha Holly, crying a neighbours!
I've cried at Enders before now.

Defo short & sharp with toddlers. A firm (and often too loud ) NO helps. Thing is my friend is happy to leave it to me cos she can't be arsed! She attempt to discipline him by threatening him (verbally) "with a stick". she never would, but even I was ed!

riabutterflew · 04/05/2007 18:36

It's taken me ages to catch up since lunchtime but at least we are all happier now (ready for the weekend from hell which will no doubt sets us back weeks...)

My day has descended into crapness. Took DS2 to the P.O. - he was meant to staying in the car with DH who decided to let him come too and DS2 got almost on the kerb of the footpath - cue hysterical mummy moment (DH was cross with me for overreacting because he wasn't actually on the road). So had to leave town because I cried and felt a tit. I now have a headache all the way down mt neck, am frozen and generally feel shite. Would be asleep but DH has to work. DS2 has been unbelievably naughty since he got home from Pgroup (drew on DS1s homework, "helped" with the tidying, generally has done everything I have told him not to and then growled at me when I tell him again). And to make it worse I don't understand DS1s homework .

I am going to bath the boys in a heavily-laced lavender bath and get them to bed - EARLY, then I'm going too. (which I will regret as I bet I miss so much on here, but I really can't cope with them in this mood any longer.)

Sorry for self-obsessed rant. Have a good night and weekend everyone.

Love the cat thing!

westcoaster · 04/05/2007 18:38

Managed to break away for a while there but am back again - aaargh!

Housework is now finished (yay!)thanks to DH who arrived home early and immediately got stuck into finishing the bathroom & DD's bedroom for me. What a bleeding saint he is - take back all I'll say about him during labour.

DH keeps catching me typing then closing down PC really quickly in a guilty manner. Mildly enquired as to whether I'm really on MN or whether have developed porn habit. Interesting thought really - is this now our porn??

riabutterflew · 04/05/2007 18:38

Should add that DH was with DS2, he didn't let him run down the street alone. He just seems really hyper today.

Seansgirl · 04/05/2007 18:44

Small world Sputnik eh? Will find out who/where can I email you? Understand if you'd rather not publish your email address mine is [email protected] and I'll email you back!

hollyandalice · 04/05/2007 18:48

Lol westcoaster! My dp thinks I'm looking at porn sometimes! I think it's more just wishful thinking as he is hoping that one day I might be in the mood!

Hope your bath is relaxing ria, sounds like a crappy day! Eat some ice cream, that's what I just did and now I feel great!

I am very at crying at neighbours, but sky's baby has leukemia (sp)!!

Euuwwww - anyone see the story on BBC about a man married to a goat (called Rose, who has sadly passed away)

hollyandalice · 04/05/2007 18:59

YUK!!

foxybrown · 04/05/2007 19:01

You are indeed on form today Westcoaster!

Poor Ria, I have bucket loads of sympathy for you - I so know how you feel - long hot bath for you, cuppa horlicks and bed

Glad I didn't go out in my pjs, didn't think far enough ahead of having to do the arvo school run!

I also got my 'post labour outfit' today. Don't laugh - Its the thing I will wear continually after giving birth for 6 weeks. A 3 piece maternity pj set from next. Absolutely ideal. Glad I got the dark 'berry' one so the leakage won't show through. [yuk]

(Am going to get another so I can wash one.)

hollyandalice · 04/05/2007 19:05

Useful pj set! I've got one too, trousers and vest top with a bolero type tie cardi thing over the top! Looks good enough to receive visitors in, but is still jammies! Perfect!

OP posts:
bumperlicious · 04/05/2007 19:07

Oh Ria, hope your evening gets better. Seems like everything is getting to us all. Just been explaining to DH about the events of the last few days and telling him that it's not just me, but we are all pretty narked off at the moment. He is sending his sympathies.

Any just checking Daisy, are you still provisionally up for York week after next? Is Thurs or Friday better for you? Obviously I'm aware things could go tits up in the meantime! Hopefully we'll still feel up to it though. Nearer the time I'll email you my mobile so you can text if any probs.

Ria you mentioned you might make it too? Still think you might? Anyone else in the York vicinity?

bumperlicious · 04/05/2007 19:09

Foxy can you link the PJ set?

foxybrown · 04/05/2007 19:14

Yes, I think I can

pjs

foxybrown · 04/05/2007 19:16

I am impressed with you DH Bumper. If I tried to tell my DP about it he would think that I, you and everyone else had gone stark raving bonkers!

But what does he know? {wink}

annobal · 04/05/2007 19:16

I do like the idea of the pjs - good forward planning .

H&A, I, too, have cried at Neighbours (yesterday and when Karl and Susan got back together "come home Karl" - ok, I was 8 weeks pg at the time

annobal · 04/05/2007 19:18

Am liking the grey...

foxybrown · 04/05/2007 19:19

Good, aren't they? And like Holly said, good enough to receive visitors in (which hadn't occurred to me!)

Would advise against the pink nursing nighty - horrid. But will get the berry nighty in the set too. Got some feeding bras from next with matching pants which aren't bad either.

Will take me until the baby is 5 to pay off my next account now!

foxybrown · 04/05/2007 19:19

leakage, annobel
