Oh and BIG congratulations to weeonion and maveta to their precious arrivals! Loved both your birthing stories. I agree weeonion - it is amazing what a woman can do and get through - it makes you feel incredible doesn't it! Maveta - your story had DP and I in stitches - I know that feeling of 'what one measley cm???!!!' Fantastic that you can laugh about it and what a beautiful wee boy. xx

Sexonknackeredlegs · 01/05/2007 10:20

HURRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many congratulations to the Dippy Family! Fab news - and another girl! Poor Mr Dippy and the female hormones!!

Enjoy, and look forward to hearing more and seeing pics. xx

bumble75 · 01/05/2007 10:32

Heidle - oh no about the boy's names!!! I've had a few of those moments myself which I've blamed on hormones and always come back to original choices. Surely baby more likely to come in this moment of name confusion?? Hope you sort it out soon.

Is anyone else still here or all off having babies? Labour vibes to everyone who is now having a fashionably late April baby in May!

xxx

heidle · 01/05/2007 10:54

thank you bumble - I hope the confusion might bring it on too! either that or it be a girl so save any argument.

no twinges here yet, midwife only works on a friday, so no chance of even a sweep until then. at this rate I might have to give in and have sex! desperate times and all that............

hope the rest of you are all feeling like something might be happening!

Emmymummy · 01/05/2007 11:27

Congratulations CD, wonderful news and looking forward to hearing the details. I just knew you were going to have another girl .

Well I have to admit I'm feeling very blue & down this morning. Awake at 4am and came downstairs for a good old cry to myself. I think the fact that we've hit May, that nothing is happening, that I'm knackered, that it feels like everyone else has had their babies etc is just really getting me down. Of my NCT group the last girl (apart from me) had her baby on Sunday, and she wasn't even due until later this week. I feel like hiding away from the world until I actually have my baby. Sorry to put such a downer on this bright, sunny day, but I couldn't talk to DH about it this morning and I'm sitting here on my own, with another day of nothing ahead of me

AngeG · 01/05/2007 11:36

Congratulations Dippy...well done you.

Congrats also to Maveta, Charandbump, bugmum, katy and any others i've forgotten.

Sorry you're feeling low emmymummy. Sending labour vibes your way and lots of hugs xxxx

Got to go hungry baby trying to get boob through t-shirt!!

xxxx

elkiedee · 01/05/2007 11:38

Emmymummy, I'm sorry to hear you're so down. I felt like that for the last few days I'm really, really scared but at least I feel there's some sort of plan for things now, I'm still hoping baby will start to come before tomorrow evening, but that if not, the induction works as it's meant.

elkiedee · 01/05/2007 11:49

After really cutting back on shopping in town and online for some months, the last few weeks have seen me lapse back towards mail order madness. Today, my latest Amazon order turned up - the Rough Guide to Babies (well, I thought it might have some practical information) and two novels I probably won't get to for years now - a series crime novel and no 28 in a historical series I've been reading for about 15 years (though usually via the library).

I think this is the third Amazon order since I finished work, there's also been a CD and a couple of DVDs. I suppose the nappies and the nursing nighties are a little more justifiable, and everyone else was nagging me to get a mobile...

And it's a new month on my credit card today, can I resist for the next two days? Hopefully after that I'll be better occupied.

Emmymummy · 01/05/2007 12:00

Elkie- I do hope things start moving for you before the induction. I guess at least you know that you'll have your baby by the end of this week, and then you will be fully occupied! I know what you mean about on-line shopping, it's about the only type of shopping I am capable of at the moment too. Have already ordered a book from Amazon this morning, and postie has delivered a Boden clothing order today (for Em I hasten to add), and am still awaiting an order from another company. Oppps. Poor credit card, just when we thought we'd cleared it something else turns up . And then when the baby's born (and I've shifted a few pounds) I'll need to go clothes shopping as I haven't been into normal shops for such a long time. And I can't wait!

elkiedee · 01/05/2007 12:12

I'm going to have to buy suitable clothes for feeding in somehow - I haven't really gained any significant amount of weight due to nausea/acid and not eating much (a bit more recently). But I don't own clothes with buttons down the front at all, as even pre-pregnancy I had to search for clothes which didn't hang off the shoulders or gape/cling on my chest. I guess I'm going to have to go for hidden layers type styles - hoping they're not all in the same clingy fabrics as most maternity tops seem to be.

I'll probably go online though, as I can't imagine I'll be wanting to hit Oxford Street with baby in tow, and I decided I didn't like the t-shirts I got from Mothercare.

heidle · 01/05/2007 12:26

emmymummy, I know exactly how you are feeling - SNAP!
have had a good cry this morning after dropping kids off at school/nursery. I'm now paranoid that something will go wrong before it comes out! MIL keeps saying 'well, I used castor oil' but I don't know that I'm that desperate yet.

maveta · 01/05/2007 13:12

First of all... CONGRATS DIPPY!!!!!! xx

thanks everyone for their lovely comments about noah, we are very much in love and of course think he´s the most beautiful thing we´ve ever seen but I´m sure he actually looks like a pretty generic newborn

Emmymummy - sorry you are feeling down babe, I know that feeling well.. I really hope things start happening for you soon, the last part really is miserable [[hugs]]

Elkiedee - sorry you are feeling apprehensive too.. try not to get too worked up about it (easy to say...) at the end of the day you´ll have your baby and you won´t be pregnant any more (YAAAAAY!!). If anyone had asked me beforehand I would have said having the oxytocin to bring on the contraction would have been my worst nightmare but in the end I wanted anything that would help him on his way and as soon as I held him it was all worth it a million times over.

Thinking of you both xxx

maveta · 01/05/2007 13:12

Sorry Heidle..didn´t mean to leave you out.. lots of labour vibes coming your way too xxxx

heidle · 01/05/2007 13:38

thank you maveta, just looked at your pictures, and Noah is completely gorgeous!

eca · 01/05/2007 13:47

YEY DIPPY!!!!!! woohoo!! congratulations Looking forward to hearing the details. Have to say I welled up when I saw that Mr Dippy had posted on here when he got home in the night to let us all know. Bless him. And 3 girls - oooo... very special. Was listening to a radio 4 programme this week about how 3 sisters are a special combo. xxx Well done lady!

EM - aw hon, sorry to hear you're feeling so low. Come on baby!!!

Heidie - noooo... don't do the castor oil, just made my sis really ill!

Elki - hey hon. Labour vibes to you too today. xx
