maveta · 30/04/2007 18:46

hi girls!!!

First off HUGE CONGRATS to Pesha, Tili, Charnbump and Katy (contraction buddy - well, ish! lol)!!! So pleased for all of you. Hope I haven´t´missed anyone, have just caught up on the last thread but haven´t started this one yet...

Well my labour was pretty much as far from how i´d have planned it as you can get but hey ho, there you go.. i have a beautiful baby boy who i am head over heels for and as they say, it was all worth it. YES even the last month of pregnancy AKA the longest month of my life

Okay, going to try and read this thread and see if I can post my labour story before my master calls me back..

Just back from hospital and pretty nervous. I met my consultant for the first time last week, this week I saw another doctor I've not seen before for the first time (I wish I'd seen the female doctor, not a consultant, that I saw for two or three visits earlier). I'm 40 + 6 today, so I had a sweep - this was my first internal exam and it was uncomfortable. The doctor was a nice bloke and kept apologising, but I really was beginning to lose it.

Then he booked me in for an induction, and I have to go to the hospital at 7 pm Wednesday, unless baby starts coming sooner (I wish). So... I'm really feeling very shaken and scared of everything at the moment, not least the prospect of my first overnight stay that I remember (since I was a newborn myself).

Sexonknackeredlegs · 30/04/2007 19:12

Hi Maveta, you sound on top of the World - God love ya!

Elkie, sorry to hear you are feeling nervous. No real advice, but just wanted to acknowledge your post. Just keep thinking that it will all be over in a flash and you will have your lovely baby for the rest of your life. Hugs to you.

Good Luck Dippy - PUSH!!!!

Come on April mummies - it's May tomorrow!!

Emmymummy · 30/04/2007 19:14

Oh my goodness......it's all going on now isn't it?

First of all GO DIPPY GO!!!!! I hope this is it finally.

Welcome Back Maveta, congratulations (even if my due-date-buddy beat me to it ). Looking forward to all the grizzly details and some pics please.

Elkie - why are they inducing you so early? They can leave you to go 14 days over, but on Weds you'll be 40+8...

EllieKthePA · 30/04/2007 19:14

dippy is on her way to the birthing centre - yay!

looks like she might get her april baby afterall

Elkie, plese try to stay positive, it is all worth it when you get that baby in your arms

Hello SOKL - at this rate I'm destined to have 2 little May bulls (aka Taureans) to contend with.

Emmymummy · 30/04/2007 19:16

I'm trying Ellie, honest to God I am!

elkiedee · 30/04/2007 19:26

thanks for the messages, and emmymummy, it's probably partly my old age (37, and almost 38 at that). Also, I think the next date available was Monday or even later. On the positive side, I have something to plan for now. We've asked Julie, a friend who lives nearby and kept offering help with lifts and things for one to the hospital, and she's kindly agreed. I thought if I've got to go in like that Wednesday it would be nice to be taken not go on the bus for once. My mum will come down Thursday from Ilkley, unless things really kick off sooner.

My dad will hear about it when I'm ready, probably when the sprog arrives - as he lives between here and the hospital, a mile and a half closer than us, and I don't think I can handle the fussing before that.

Plan for the evening, packing, phone and silly TV programmes.

Phew, finally got to the end of my mammoth birth story which is on birth annoucements here and there´s a pic on my profile.. it´s taken me so long I think my time is almost up but going to try and catch up with you all now.

In Katy44 style, I also want to say thank you thank you for all sharing this pregnancy with me, it has made so many things a lot easier knowing you are all there going through it too. I will try hard to come in when I can and keep you all company, I really felt the last couple of weeks were long and hard with waiting and don´t want to abandon those who helped me through it! So I really will try, I promise!

Kisses to all of you xx

eca · 30/04/2007 19:42

GO DIPPY!!!

Katy - he's gorgeous!!!! SOOOOO CUTE!!!!

Elkiedee - aw, honey. Hugs to you. That's exactly how I felt when I ended up in hospital for 1st time at 9wks with bleeding. Had an internal exam for the 1st time from a male doc (don't know why but I would have rather had a female) and 1st night in hospital ever. Be brave babe, you can do it and you'll have your gorgeous baby at the end of it all. Hope things start happening before wed. xx

Hi Maveta going to read it now

EllieKthePA · 30/04/2007 20:23

Emmymummy - glad the reflexology was lovely.

Still lots of bump tightening here and a few that are very painful, but with no regularity and at very random times.

Sexonknackeredlegs · 30/04/2007 21:28

Maveta, Noah is gorgeous!!

Emmymummy, when is Em's birthday then?

Katy44 · 30/04/2007 23:08

I'm so pleased things are finally happening for Dippy after all she's been through in the last week or so!
elkiedee - sorry you're feeling apprehensive. I always find with these things that they're never as bad as you are worrying about, hope you do too.
Maveta - Noah is gorgeous - he looks like he's thinking something through! Off to read your birth announcement in a sec.
Daisybump - I loved the nanny one! When I was scanning down I assumed it was in the AIBU section and I thought what on earth is that about - but they're in for some flak!! Then I realised it was an AN thread, but it just made me chuckle every time I saw it after that!
Ellie, how are Matthew and Joe doing? Have I missed any news from you?

EllieKthePA · 30/04/2007 23:49

she's got just 15 mins in which to have her April baby, i've had no news as yet
