@katmarie - thank you!! My bump is actually much bigger - this angle in the photo and flowery dress makes it look so much smaller!
I found this dress on sale on SimplyBe, usually wear size12 but this one is 18 - and it was hard to put it on :) Just could not say 'no' to those bright flowers!

@ndo4000 - congrats on 40w! hope your wish will be granted and your bump will allow dc1 to enjoy showing mummy their dance moves!

LinaBl · 08/01/2018 10:19

@Allmychildrenhavepaws - welcome!

I also bought Raspberry leaf tea but knew nothing about the rest - will try to get some - maybe you can advise where is the best place to get clary sage oil - I have never come across it. (Im in London)

LinaBl · 08/01/2018 10:26

@cheshiremama89 and @Mortigua - my baby girl was above 95% on 34w+4d, but MW did not seem to be too worried also, as the following blood tests for glucose came back very normal (5.5 when range is 3.0 to 7.7). And I don't have any more scans slotted.
Its my first baby, and Im 36 - kind of worried if I can give birth naturally.

Mortigua · 08/01/2018 10:50

LinaBL that's reassuring there are a few of us though! My midwife has been very laid back about it and said they only worry about specific things like if the mother has gestational diabetes then it could cause the baby to have large shoulders which can be an issue with birth but big babies in themselves are not often a concern.

MegRam · 08/01/2018 13:17

Place marking ☺️

Mortigua · 08/01/2018 14:35

Just spoke to my midwife and she will do a sweep at 40+3 when I am next due to see her ( a week away though). She was again reassuring about big babies not being a worry and said the consultant wouldn't induce for that alone.
I'm so desperate now and not even over my dates I think I just expect to because of how late I was last time!

StylishDuck · 08/01/2018 14:59

I was at the MW today and she tried to do a sweep (I'm 40+5) but it didn't work, my cervix is still too high Angry Booked in for an induction on Friday. Really hoping I go before then but I'm not optimistic Sad

Mortigua · 08/01/2018 15:07

Fingers crossed for you stylishduck. This last bit is awful. Mw here is saying no chance of induction till 42 weeks! I really don't want induction but my worry is ending up 42 weeks and still ending up induced.
Was the sweep ok?I found one of my sweeps last time painful ,the second one was fine.

StylishDuck · 08/01/2018 15:25

Thanks @Mortigua . It was uncomfortable but because she couldn't really get in to do it properly it wasn't that painful. I got one with my last pregnancy that was really quite painful but it actually worked. I think I'm being induced a bit earlier because I've got horrendous SPD at the moment and I'm not sure I can last another 9 days until I'm 42 weeks.

ForumUsername · 08/01/2018 17:29

To all the ladies wanting to speed things up have you looked in to reflexology or acupuncture?

I've booked in for some relaxing reflexology towards the end of this week to get my body ready and then another session closer to due date to get things going
Although I don't want to go this week, I don't want to go too far over either as they'll likely want to induce at 40+6 because of GD and baby measuring big

From what I've heard reflexology and/or acupressure can really help things along and lots of women say that they had short labors following sessions
Just a thought

cheshiremama89 · 08/01/2018 17:51

My growth scan was very successful Grin

Was on track to have an 11lb from my fundal height, now looking more like 7lb

Relief is an understatement Brew

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 08/01/2018 18:27

lina thankyou for the welcome! Clary sage oil i just bought off eBay, just type in 100% pure clary sage oil...make sure you buy a carrier oil such as sweet almond oil, mix in 25% c.s oil with 75% s.a oil...rub into bump in evenings, or burn in oil burner etc, or both...only from 37 wks though! The evening primrose oil capsules soften and efface the cervix, but you need to really start at 32 wks and build up, much like the reaspberry leaf tea, many people make the mistake of buying just 'raspberry tea' but its defo the 'leaf' you want. I get mine by the kg for £10 online from a whole foods shop Grin

EekThreek · 08/01/2018 18:57

I've waddled miles round the shops today, and done two loads of baby washing - hospital bag will be packed tonight, Moses basket assembled tomorrow, bedside cot at some point over the next three weeks. Got a bit of tidying to do in our bedroom to make space for the cot - we moved in 3 months ago and there's still a couple of boxes that need checking/chucking.

I slipped down a couple of stairs earlier on 😫 Got a scrape/carpet burn on my elbow, and bumped my coccyx so now it really bloody hurts to move. Such an idiot! Baby is moving fine though, and MW said keep an eye out for bleeding as it could mean the placenta has moved a bit. So far so good though. That'll teach me to try and get organised!!

DD had a friend to play after school and I think a gave them both a fright! 😳 But DD has been really helpful and sweet ever since, so maybe I'll do it more often 😉

Mortigua · 08/01/2018 19:13

Ah that's good this one wasn't too painful stylishduck. Fingers crossed for you! I have spd too horrible isn't it. By this point in previous pregnancies I was walking lots but can barely get round the house this time.
Cheshiremama that's good bet you are relieved !
Allmychildren I am tempted to order some Clary sage oil!
Forumusername I had acupuncture before my first child was born and did go into labour a few days later but it's so hard to tell as it could well have been coincidence. I emailed someone the other day in desperation but she said people start treatments at 36 weeks usually and at £50 a go I'm worried I'd end up lots of cash down with no results. It would be good relaxation wise though. A lovely friend has just booked me a pregnancy massage!
Eeekthreek poor you hope you can take it easy a bit?

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 08/01/2018 20:24

mortigua tbh i dont have a sausage if the c.s works or not, alot of mixed reviews, much like the theory on eating dates! Although at least they help with the constipation Blush Also, most people are of the understanding that eating pineapple can aid natural labor induction...although true, its the enzyme in the 'core' of the pineapple that does it, so if everyone is 'corring' (is that a word Hmm) their fresh pineapple STOP NOW! I'll be trying the pineapple from next week i think...been on the evening p.oil since 32 wks along with the raspberry leaf tea...up to maximim on them both now...it all turns into quite the bloody regime doesn't it! And at the end of it all, bubba will only come when ready anyway! Makes you wonder why we try these things...but there you go lol!

Another sufferer of the awful spd here...and sciatica Sad Although, not to the point of crutches like i was with dc1 by 20 wks...so ive done well to get to nearly 37 without em! Must have something to do with the fact that i gained 70lbs with dc1, and only 20lbs with this one so far! Yay me!

Please forgive me for not catching up with many people on the thread, im a single mummy just newly divorced from my husband (split when i was 6 wks pg) So am doing everything solo now with a VERY active 20 mo ds, and a very 'not so active' pelvis! So i may check in from time to time, but do forgive me if i miss any posts etc...

Mummyme87 · 09/01/2018 08:39

LinaBI never to late to start colostrum harvesting. I haven’t been as good this pregnancy but will get some more in before Friday.
Clary sage you can get in Holland and Barratt.

Had a growth scan yesterday that they wouldn’t do growth in as had only been 12days since last, however did fluid levels and dopplers. Dopplers all normal, baby kicking about and good breathing, however increased fluid so polyhydramnios.. sudden onset as was normal two weeks ago. Discussed withconsultant, in view of history is likely to be late onset uncontrolled diabetes and induction recommended 38-39weeks (I was 39weeks yesterday). We compromised at Friday at 39+4. I cried all the way home but have calmed and come to terms with it. He won’t be as big as DS 🙏🏻 And hopefully my cervix won’t be too unfavourable as got to 9cm last time

Mortigua · 09/01/2018 08:57

Allmychildren don't worry at all I have just rejoined so am the same. Sounds hard work for you especially with hip issues.

My back and hips and generally being uncomfortable has kept me awake 2-5am then up with the children before 7 but I'm able to rest a bit now thankfully. Feeling really awful today and quite down but could well be lack of sleep. My whole body aches and I feel out of breath and headachy.

Sorry to hear about your scan mummyme, you never know as it's a couple of days away still.

EekThreek · 09/01/2018 09:29

Morning everyone.

Had a terrible nights sleep. DH forgot (?!) to put a nappy on DS before bed last night, so he woke up at 4am with his bed absolutely flooded. He has had some nights where he's woken up dry, but ffs - he's nowhere near being able to sleep without one. Cue full change of bed and pyjamas, and because it was the wrong side of 3 am, I couldn't get back to sleep. So we all overslept, and DH got arsey when I asked him for some help getting DS sorted.

On top of sore pelvis/hips, I'm still really hurting from the fall yesterday, so I didn't think help was too much to ask for. Especially as I've also got to have them both fed and ready for 8.45 to get to school in time.

Today has started badly ☹️😤

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 09/01/2018 10:59

mortigua sorry you're feeling down, these last weeks are hard arent they. How many wks are you?

eek men are just useless sometimes (most the time) ! You'd think after a fall he might show a little compassion and actually 'want' to help...how many wks are you?

Sorry, new here so don't know much about anyone. Im 37 wks tomorrow. Would love bubs to come sooner rather than later...the pain from spd is getting too much now, ds is such hard work! Feeling guilty because I can't be as active with him as I'd like Bear

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 09/01/2018 11:04

mummy sounds like you've got a lot going on with this pregnancy, i dont know much about the issues you've mentioned, but I wish you all the best...are you having to be induced then? What was your last birth like?

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 09/01/2018 11:10

Oh i see, you're being induced this friday! Hope all goes well x

EekThreek · 09/01/2018 11:24

I'm 37+4.

He said last night "don't carry anything else on the stairs, tell me and I'll do it". Then walked past the pile of laundry at the top of the stairs this morning, so I've had to carry it down anyway to stop the house stinking of piss by lunchtime 🙄

It's not that I mind doing it, it's the "tell me and I'll do it" - or how about you notice what needs doing without me having to think for you?! Mental load makes me see red.

Also doesn't help that I have a horrible feeling that I'm nesting... I'm completely incapable of leaving any jobs at the moment! This morning I've built the Moses basket stand - it could easily have waited til tonight, but I just want it done, so I've done it.

Sorry for venting!

Mortigua · 09/01/2018 11:58

Eeekthreek poor you what a start to the day!
Horrible on top of the last bits of pregnancy-my children aren't that reliable for sleep so I feel your pain.
Thanks allmychildren I am 39.+4 today. I feel like I know I will go ov3r.
Also wondering how rubbish is it ok to feel?I'm going to try and get out for a bit as maybe it's psychological but I really ache everywhere it's a horrible feeling and I'm worried my room levels are still low. Just that feeling like I'm coming down with something.
Also is anyone else really puffy?my face looks so rounded and it could well be the ton of weight I've gained but I don't recognise myself!

Mummyme87 · 09/01/2018 12:12

allmychildrenhavepaws I had an emergency CS at 9cm last time for infection and abnormal CTG. my DS ended up in for 2weeks with meningitis. praying for it to go better this time

Mortigua · 09/01/2018 14:33

Mummy I hope your birth is much smoother this time-that sounds terrifying. I had a very sick baby too after birth and it definitely has added to my birth anxiety.
I went out for a bit but feel dizzy and like I'm not quite with it struggled with driving as feel unfocused. Not sure what to do- normal end of pregnancy exhaustion may be? Anyone else feel odd/ill?
