ooh!

Indith · 23/04/2007 18:02

Was a pg double then! Maybe you could go into labour at the same time and cause utter confussion for the poor midwives at the hospital!

EllieKthePA · 23/04/2007 18:02

and she says it better not be a girl cos if it is she's bringing it up as a boy

That's really odd - I'd like to meet her! Maybe she'll be at BnB tomorrow.

Emmymummy · 23/04/2007 18:25

Go Pesha, go girl!!!!

Yes, it's definately the turn for a girl to be born (shouts 'me me me!!!').

Maveta - am also very hot at the moment - dh keeps insisting it's not actually that warm, but I say it is. Baby has dropped, lots of pressure down below, so you never know.....

Emmymummy · 23/04/2007 18:27

Oh and labour cake is in the oven - I'm banking on you Liath

octo · 23/04/2007 18:28

Hello all

good luck Pesha

one handed typing here - all fine here - i have uti which hurts but have antibiotics - ernie great

have managed thechool run today but planning to stay in bed tomorrow!!!

will catch up again soon xxxxxxx

Katy44 · 23/04/2007 18:29

Have to say the labour cake sounded a bit too much effort to me (dragging myself off the sofa to make RL tea is enough!) but if it works then I might reconsider in a few days!

Katy44 · 23/04/2007 18:29

Hi octo!

Emmymummy · 23/04/2007 18:32

Hello Octo, glad all is OK (apart from the infection obviously).

Katy - the cakes smells delicious. Have a load of pregnant ladies coming over tomorrow so will be feeding it to them too!

maveta · 23/04/2007 18:33

Hi Octo! I´ll let you know about the cake Katy.. although we still haven´t established exactly how MUCH you have to eat in order for it to work..

Emmymummy - I feel like he´s dropped a bit more too and I´m definitely feeling heavier but all in all I´ve given up on sign spotting.. trying to go with the ´I´ll know when it´s happening!´ mentality and not wind myself up trying to anticipate it... yeah. wish me luck on that!

Emmymummy · 23/04/2007 18:44

Maveta - well I know that things are on the move as I feel like I have a bowling ball up my fanjo . I distinctly remember this from last time. The bad news is that presumably I could still be feeling like this this time next week (please, no).

Katy44 · 23/04/2007 19:08

Ooh I think I may have had a "twinge"
was kind of a cross betweem a KNUF and a contraction (I assume, having never had one!)
I'm sure it's nothing but maybe I should call my mum, when she asks I can truthfully say "yes"!

heidle · 23/04/2007 19:32

any news from pesha yet?

oooh, how exciting!

Am off out tonight - nothing too exciting, school pta meeting - but it is in the pub so it almost counts as a night out. especially at the moment......
will check back in later to see if the labour cake is working - sounds delicious anyway!

Katy44 · 23/04/2007 19:35

I texted her and she told me if her LO's a girl she's going to send me the redecorating bill!
I assume from that she wasn't quite at the pushing stage then!

LesleyR · 23/04/2007 19:36

Hi everyone!

Quick post while George is sleeping and dinner is cooking.

Zazas and Lucewheel lovely pics of your gorgeous LOs. Zazas birth story was inspiring!

I do like that you waiting ladies have now turned to cake to get things moving I know time seems to be dragging now but once they're here time seems to whizz past. Can't believe it was 12 days ago that I was at home with contractions.

DH goes back to work tomorrow - unfortunately he has to go to London overnight. Was a bit panicked about my 1st time alone with George being overnight, but the ILs are going to come and stay. Means I can focus on George and my MIL can cook and clean in my house for the first time ever! That pride I had before baby about doing it myself has evaporated.

Dinner ready so off I go.

elkiedee · 23/04/2007 20:05

Well, I had my hospital doctor's appointment today, met the consultant for the first time. Everything was fine but there's not much sign that baby's getting ready to come out, I was told that they'll probably start trying to induce after 10 days. Sighhhhh.
I've put on about a pound in weight (that will be the icepops diet then!) but I suppose that's not much - I actually hope it's me not baby getting huge!

On the way home I bought a book about not shopping (!) and two bars of Divine fairtrade chocolate from Oxfam in Crouch End, and we found a lovely cafe where I had eggs on toast and fruit juice at about 5.30 pm. That sounds trivial but oh the joys of having any kind of hot meal, even a little one, at the moment.

It all shows being forced out of the house and particularly a little further than the corner shop is probably a good thing for me, I still don't feel well (acid) but I'm much happier.

gorgeous baby photos Eca (the only ones I've actually seen).

EllieKthePA · 23/04/2007 20:08

do you want me to send on the previous emails with photos Elkie?

Katy44 · 23/04/2007 20:09

elkiedee, I really feel for you. I had ms quite badly to begin with and now have indigestion but it's nowhere near all the time - I can imagine how miserable I'd be if it was

Katy44 · 23/04/2007 20:09

I have a midwife appt tomorrow, at one day over my due date. Would you think I'll get an internal exam?

elkiedee · 23/04/2007 20:12

katy, re internal exam, I hope not because I'm due tomorrow and see midwife Wednesday. Let me know! I think they'll try internal exams if we go a bit later and there's cause for concern, but I got the impression most of that happens once you start giving birth, and not before.

Katy44 · 23/04/2007 20:15

I was kind of hoping I would Just in case she can tell me that things are happening!

elkiedee · 23/04/2007 20:17

Ellie. thanks for photos offer, but I think I'll just look at what comes from now on.

Weird comments from your mum/baby's dad's mum! I admire your restraint in not saying soemething very rude.

EllieKthePA · 23/04/2007 20:18

think it's one of those things that depends on your area Katy, i'm sure some on here have had them, but others haven't

EllieKthePA · 23/04/2007 20:19
