Hey CD!! No. I haven´t but I think Runny (??) might have.. someone definitely noticed increased BHs and stopped taking them and then their MW told them off.. or something. So I guess it´s just another of those ´it depends´ things..

Glad you got a wee lie in x

Hello,
You all sounded a bit lonely so I thought I would re-join the gang and bolster the numbers a little! Hello to all you ladies who are yet to pop, and congratulations to all you lucky ladies that have done so already!

Well I thought my big day had come 3 days ago. Started getting really mild pains, at about 9pm on thursday eve. Got all excited as they steadily rose in intensity - started timing them and everything - phoned midwife, strapped on TENS machine, had a show blah blah blah. Went to birth centre about 8am, feeling really nervous - thinking when I leave I'll have my baby!!!! Had internal. Guess what? One measely cm dilated. Dp and I then had a sleep in one of the delivery rooms and everything sort of dried up!!! Have been home ever since. Have had periods, (such as yeaterday evening and all last night) of regular painful contractions, but nothing seems to last. Am feeling pretty desolate now - have been reading other threads and it seems this could go on for weeks!!!

This is rubbish!!!!

Please can somebody send me some reallly really good labour vibes...please?!.....

Mrsjaffabiffa · 21/04/2007 09:59

Morning all.........;

Just popping in from the very May thread, to say congratulations to all you ladies that have had your bundles already and hang on in there those that are still waiting. grrrrrrrr at my 4 weeks waiting still.

Any one heard from weeoninon?????? Noticed she hasn't been around since 9am yesterday. Hoping she is OK and has baby in arms by now.

OK, I'm waddling out again now, thanks>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Pesha · 21/04/2007 10:20

CONGRATULATIONS NELLYHEL

PR - you're thewilderbeast!! I knew TWB had changed names but couldnt for life of me remember who to! Welcome back
Monday afternoon I had the same thing and really thought it could be 'the start of things' but it all fizzled out and have been have contractions loads since but nothing going anywhere It is sooo frustrating isnt it? Things do seem to be picking up abit for me now though, still wouldnt say ive started but do feel like im getting closer.

maveta · 21/04/2007 10:22

Hi Girls! Thanks for popping in to see us.. it is SO quiet on here now.. really is going to make this last little bit of wait all the more depressing!

Mrsjaffabiffa - if I end upp going over I might do a Mossy and end up crashing the May thread to tide me over.. If I go the full 13 days over I´m allowed here it´ll be well into May [SOB] Please please please don´t let me still be pregnant in May!

Penelope - when are you due? I´m getting so impatient and still have 4 days til my due date so really no right to feel like that at all. I think all the practice contractions and ´is this it? is this it?´ really gets very tiring after a while and makes the wait seem longer. Only going to get worse as we approach (and maybe pass) our due date.. I know I for one will wake up everyday thinking ´Maybe today!´ Meh.

Weeonion MUST be busy, very unlike her to be so quiet. Dying for news!!

peneloperabbit · 21/04/2007 10:34

Hello,

Yes, Pesha, I am the rabbit formally known as the wilderbeast! I am far more rabbit than beast.

Was due yesterday, so can't really complain too much. I just really really thought it was happening on thursady morning! It's strange i'd sort of prepared myself for 24hrs of pain - but focused and increasing pain thta i knew had direction and an end etc - but this is rubbish - it's on off on off and right now i feel like it could go on for the rest of my life!!!!! I felt very pathetic this morning and cried and cried, but a bath and clean clothes and toast and plum jam has cheered me a little. As has hearing from other ladies in the same boat I must say! Must get things into perspective: It will happen....it will happen...it will happen!!!!!!!! Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow etc

maveta · 21/04/2007 10:56

Hey penelope - okaaaay so you´re TWB! It all clicks into place now.. I know how you feel completely and always have a shitty day (or at least morning) after a night of cramps/BHs/ whatever other labour ´signs´ feeling all teary and fed up. Probably bored and overtired is more accurate though...

It WILL happen, It WILL happen..

Mrsjaffabiffa · 21/04/2007 10:58

Maveta, you come on over and join us if you need to, we are a Mad but very friendly bunch............ Hope you don't have to, for your sakes though, not ours. Oh I want mine now...........

Katy44 · 21/04/2007 11:06

CONGRATULATIONS NELLYHELL

Katy44 · 21/04/2007 11:08

Hi everyone
Still nothing happening here and it's really starting to get to me, not sure why as my due date isn't until Monday, but I'm really starting to feel frustrated. I think it's a combination of being ready for the baby now, my Dad going away a week tomorrow and wanting to go to a wedding in a couple of weeks. Oh well, he'll come when he's ready but I too might be gatecrashing the May thread if you'll have me?
Who do we think is in labour at the moment? weeonion only?

liath · 21/04/2007 11:09

Congratulations Nellyhel, and what a lovely name - we obviously share very good taste !

Had a tricky night last night when BF suddenly got really painful so am waiting for the midwife to come over and hopefully sort me out. Think the hormones have blipped a bit as I couldn't get Jonathan latched this morning and the next thing I was bawling my eyes out, oops.

Fingers crossed the radio silence from WO is for all the right reasons .

Serious labour vibes to those waiting. When I was pg with dd I was the last one left on my antenatal thread as I was due at the end of the month then went overdue, was a bit depressing so I gatecrashed the next month for a few days.

Katy44 · 21/04/2007 11:18

Oh just looked at the pictures nellyhell sent, he's lovely

liath · 21/04/2007 11:24

Really must get some photos sorted. Am waiting for him to start looking a little less like a goblin (albeit a cute one).

It's funny - when dd was born I thought she was the most utterly beautiful thing ever in creation (my family assure me she wasn't ). The scales dropped this time, as ds arrived on my chest my first thought was "good grief he's ugly" . Now he's jaundiced which doesn't make him any more photogenic....

Indith · 21/04/2007 11:28

Good luck April hangers on!

I was the very last one on the December 2006 thread

Not long now Katy! Come show your bump off on Tuesday, go on you know you want to! (if it is still a bump of course) I'll hav started lectures again and had an evil mock exam so will def be in tea and biscuit baby land and pushing for lunch at the pub after!

Katy44 · 21/04/2007 11:32

Good luck for your exam!
Hmmm... bumps and babies - go on then as I might as well make plans, the more I make the more likely he is to come and mess them up
10am at St Cuthbert's? I have a MW appt that afternoon as well so it'll keep me busy and stop me feeling sorry for myself!

Katy44 · 21/04/2007 11:33

liath - put the photos up, please!! The more cute babies I see the better, might start something

Katy44 · 21/04/2007 11:35

The Due in Jan 2008 thread must be due any time now, so I'm going to race it!!

claricebean · 21/04/2007 11:39

Popping in to say hello and wish you luck and labour vibes. I think I´ve added a photo of Ruby on my profile page.

claricebean · 21/04/2007 11:39

Oops, no. Will try again

peneloperabbit · 21/04/2007 11:40

lol at cute goblin!

I was talking to my Mum the other day about how new mothers believe their babies to be the most beautiful things in the world. She said she had definately felt that about me, but when I asked about my sister she said "um, no comment, but after two weeks she was lovely" I remember the pics of her as a new born; Bright red, covered in spots, thick black hair, enormous and with long nails. She also howled and howled and was named the beetroot as she got redder and redder with every tear! Didn't last long, she blossomed into a real beauty, but I think Mum's initial thought was "what on earth have I created!"

maveta · 21/04/2007 11:42

Thanks MrsJaffaBiffa- I´ve already taken you up on your offer, in fact! lol

PMSL at Liath and your goblin baby! I think it´s very refreshing to get a mum saying ´yup, he´s a minger, but I love him all the same´!! Hope I can be as wide eyed! I´m sure he´s a little darling.. ´only a mother would love him´ in reverse??? I am totally prepared for mine to look like an overcooked potato so will KNOW I´ve fallen hook line and sinker if he comes out looking (to my eyes) like the most beautiful thing ever.

Even in hindsight my Mum says we were all just delicious - and there is serious photographic proof that this was just NOT the case! LOL

claricebean · 21/04/2007 11:43

OK, attempt 2

Indith · 21/04/2007 11:43

Yup 10am, I even have a pic on my profile so you can tell who I am and not ask everybody with a 3 month old if they are a MN named Indith!

claricebean · 21/04/2007 11:45

OK, I can see my public profile. Why don´t I get that icon thing?

claricebean · 21/04/2007 11:45

Ah - there it is
