No specific post-natal category so I've added it to the normal ante-natal category ...

We were so utterly convinced we were having a boy even the people helping me deliver kept saying “here he is,” as she emerged! Then they pulled her up and flashed me “his bits” and we all just said in shock “oh my god it’s a girl!” It was such a shock; we were so prepared for a little Hugo and hadn’t actually decided a girl’s name at all. X

Lonelycooler · 19/11/2017 07:50

Congratulations @hazandduck she is gorgeous !!!

We had our own little arrival on Thursday our little cutie arrived after 3 days of failed induction (he really didn’t want to come out) once if got on the drip though he had no choice !!

He weighs 7lb 5oz and is just perfect, totally surreal he is here and ours.

Awww congratulations haz, lovely news and well done you! Are you home now? I thought you would have a girl!

@Durezidal I took your advice and got back out with F yesterday. Took him to my grandma's, then shopping, then for a dog walk in his pushchair and he was great... Phew! Your husband sounds like a star, good luck for today's show :)

Hope today is a better day sock. I've followed zampa's tip to slow F down a bit as he's been noshing too quickly sometimes and then spewing it all back up.

Hazandduck · 19/11/2017 07:53

Ah congratulations he is gorgeous and thank you @lonely! His outfit! 😍 We have been through 4-5 outfits in 28 hours lol. She’s a sicky baby! X

Hazandduck · 19/11/2017 07:55

Ah Thanks @buttery! They said we could go home last night but we decided to stay an extra night just because I was so tired and wanted a bit more Midwife on hand time lol. We will be going home this morning :) can’t wait to introduce our cat to his baby sister haha. Xx

butterybollocks · 19/11/2017 07:57

Ahhh congratulations to you too @lonelycooler!

AGnu · 19/11/2017 08:00

Congrats Haz & Lonely! They're gorgeous!

I totally thought we'd have ours by now - I was convinced I was going into labour at 1am this morning. It took me ages to get to sleep & I slept through until 6.45. I was really frustrated to wake up & realise nothing was happening.

Hazandduck · 19/11/2017 08:18

Ah @Agnu I felt like that all last week that niggly feeling and then my plug started to come away, so it may all be starting! X

Zampa · 19/11/2017 08:20

It's great to wake up to such lovely news. Congratulations @hazandduck and @lonelycooler.

Thank you @Zampa! I need to go back and look at the spreadsheet, can’t remember how many we have left now! X

Zampa · 19/11/2017 09:03

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cs0BB4r5sVNEDGjPWM96Ijscv7t7xSaZtLl9KdTuZtQ/edit?usp=drivesdk

Link to spreadsheet. I've added a few columns for baby news (birthday, weight, name etc.). These things are quite personal so don't add if you're not comfortable with disclosing these details.

There were about 50 of us to start with but only a few regular posters, some of whom have been quiet for a while. Hopefully, we'll hear from as many people as possible. I love all of the happy baby news!

Congratulations @hazandduck and @lomelycooler and well done on your gorgeous new arrivals 😘

MrsJB1987 · 19/11/2017 09:06

Congratulations to all you new mummies!!!! Amazing news and all the babies r gorgeous!!

I have got so impatient and tired!!! Confused I am currently living on an average of 2 hours sleep a night for the last 3 weeks! Body clock will just not let me sleep! I am 39+3 and just so ready to have baby in my arms!! From what I can tell baby has no intention of arriving any time soon! However I am currently lying in bed having not slept a wink last night - braxton hicks (I presume!!) all night!! Dull ache in my lower back with painless contractions on and off all night!! Would love it to mean it was the start of something but don’t want to get my hopes up as I’m already being impatient!! It’s my 30th birthday on Tuesday so been having little family get togethers to celebrate in case baby arrives! First grandchild in my house so excitement is building and everyone getting impatient!

Sorry for the rant BlushBlush

lydiangel83 · 19/11/2017 09:23

Ahhh gorgeous babies!! @Hazandduck congratulations Matilda Alice is such a sweet name and she looks perfect! Your labour sounds like mine and I was genuinely in shock when I first saw our baby and also for several days after realistically. It is also quite traumatic for your DP to watch you go through that. I was also told to be careful if I have a second, given first came so quickly.

@Lonelycooler congratulations to you too what a sweetie and loving the knitwear! Xx

theotherendofthesockportal · 19/11/2017 11:07

@Hazandduck aww Matilda has the most lovely eyes!

Congratulations @Lonelycooler - I love knitwear on babies. I come from a family of knitters so have lots of stuff for Bea, although it’s all too big at the moment.

I think today will be a better day for me. DH is spending some time with Bea, well I evilly sent him downstairs with her knowing she was due a feed and the motion of carrying her would wake her up. He can feed her and watch his Sunday brunch go cold - welcome to my world DH. My mum is babysitting for a couple of hours this afternoon whilst we go and buy a tumble dryer which hopefully restore my sanity.

lydiangel83 · 19/11/2017 11:27

I’ve had my mum on the phone saying I need to feed Liliana more so that she sleeps more HmmI’m sick of the advice already and she is less than 3 wks old!!

tmc14 · 19/11/2017 11:33

I haven’t posted for many weeks (possibly a few months!) I was trying to keep up but with the end of work & other life things I just couldn’t! Just been reading about all the arrivals, so exciting! Congratulations to all. You all sound like you’re doing amazingly.

I’m 40+2 now, he has no intention of making an exit, head not even engaged yet. I’ve been off work for a couple of weeks, first week I got a bad cold, thrush for the first time ever & my eczema came back, which I haven’t had since I was 15!! Think my body felt a bit broken. Feeling loads better now & just settled into waiting for him to get ready. My Midwife is quite relaxed about leaving me alone, so will discuss sweeps etc on Wednesday when I see her. In the meantime I’m just doing all the right exercises etc trying to get him down! Even booked acupuncture, which I’m very sceptical about but thought it was worth trying.

Looking forward to seeing more baby pics as they arrive 😁

xx

Topsyloulou · 19/11/2017 11:56

Congratulations @Hazandduck & @Lonelycooler. I love hearing about the new arrivals. Hope you & your beautiful babies are doing well.

Iris has upped her milk intake over the last day or so & is now much more unpredictable when it comes to the time in between feeds. It’s fine when we’re at home but we were out yesterday & had a 60 minute car journey home & didn’t know whether to wait & feed her or go so waited a bit & then went. She was still fast asleep when we got home so I had to wake her to feed which is the first time I’ve had to do that.

Hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing Sunday. DP has just taken DS to his swimming lesson so iris & I have 2 hours peace! When they get back we have to go food shopping which will be interesting. Can’t wait until I can drive again.

butterybollocks · 19/11/2017 13:14

@Topsyloulou I'm snuggled up with Freddie while DH takes DD to her swimming lesson - 2 hours peace here too!

Freddie's eating patterns are really unpredictable at the moment - we got caught out earlier as he got hungry while we were in sainsburys and wailed all the way home. He keeps being sick - proper sick not just posseting - which makes it hard to know when to next feed him.

lydiangel83 · 19/11/2017 16:09

@Topsyloulou interesting that you say that as I wonder whether Liliana’s feeding habits have changed too? She cries more and is sleeping less but feeding more too. Certainly feels like she is growing and lots of dirty/ wet nappies but my mum has made me paranoid now that I’m not feeding enough :-(

theotherendofthesockportal · 19/11/2017 18:17

@lydiangel83 don’t worry! Babies are very good at telling you if they are hungry. Be guided by Liliana, she knows if she wants food or not :) I’m sure you are doing a fab job, ignore everyone else.

DH bought me a Costa Coffee whilst we were out buying a tumble dryer. I feel less murderous towards him now.

Motherhippy16 · 19/11/2017 18:28

Hi all... congratulations on the gorgeous new babies........ they are so so beautiful Flowers I am now 38+3 and am still in a slight state of disbelief at what is about to happen. I have been so busy finishing off the nursery (dh is currently putting down the carpet) so all will be finished tonight! I now have 2 weeks to properly relax as bag etc is packed although slightly concerned as the hospital in going to has an outbreak of nurovirus! Just want little baby to be here now so I can start having cuddles! Much love to all x x x x

butterybollocks · 19/11/2017 18:54

I agree with sock @lydiangel83, ignore the 'advice' and just feed when she asks for it. F is fussier than he was and sleeping a bit less but at this age they change every day and I think you just have to go with it.

Costa sounds good sock - DH and I are functioning on tea and biscuits at the moment.
