Do you remember.........can't remember his name myself but I went to uni with him from Grange Hill, will come to me in a minute.

EllieKthePA · 07/04/2007 00:16

i started watching it not long after the zammo just say no campaign

Klaw · 07/04/2007 00:16

make sure you're well rested, well fed, well watered and that you go regular to the toilet Pinions! I wouldn't bother with cleaning the car ROTFPMSL! If you could sleep I'd say get some before it gets too much more full on!

I adored Bagpuss as a child...

and then Space:1999 as a young teen.....

Pinions · 07/04/2007 00:17

Cute little one with blonde hair used to hang around with the great big ginger minger one (he was about twice his size).

Ps this is really helping contractions.

EllieKthePA · 07/04/2007 00:18

Pinions · 07/04/2007 00:21

LesleyR · 07/04/2007 00:21

Wasn't Stewpot in GH was it?

Just been having a quick count up. 11, then shocked myself with realisation 5 of those were in my first year at Uni! Obviously felt very liberated after leaving home and discovering cheap booze

EllieKthePA · 07/04/2007 00:22

1983-1987

This year Gripper formed his own quasi National Front, finally leading to his expulsion. Meanwhile Grange Hill toyed with flexitime and SAG demo’d to save iconoclastic teacher “Scruffy” McGuffy from Brigit’s ire.

Sweet young love came a-calling in the form of Jackie Wright – Zammo’s girlfriend from the wrong side of the tracks (ie she was Brookdale). But this year Grange Hill was to concern itself with darker issues when all-round annoyance Jeremy Irvine drowned in the school swimming pool.

“Gonch” Gardner led the way in another new intake of first years. The programme played out a worse-case scenario when the school merged with arch rivals Rodney Bennett and Brookdale and, of course, much fighting ensued. And deranged Latin master Mr Bronson arrived. “You boy!”

As if race wars and death weren’t hard-hitting enough, Grange Hill blew the lid on drug abuse in the memorable Series 9 in 1986 when Zammo shocked us all and just said “yes” to the evils of heroin. Meanwhile, there were more new comers on the scene namely Scouser Eric “Ziggy” Greaves and troubled artist Danny Kendall.

In 1986 the ‘Hill may have had heroin but in ’87 it had … Harriet the donkey! Meanwhile, Zammo was back, off the smack and forced into an engagement with Jackie (they eventually broke it off).

EllieKthePA · 07/04/2007 00:23

grange hill theme tune

LesleyR · 07/04/2007 00:24
