thanks...not thats ......

maveta · 02/04/2007 16:29

Hi Everyone, Not sure up to what point I replied last but as a quick recap.. congrats to all the new mummies and thanks for sharing the pictures, all of your babies are truly delicious and make me all the more eager to meet my own!

Thanks Ellie for all your emails, you are doing a top job! MWAH!

Pesha - sorry you´re having a nightmare with ex-p, I can imagine you are stressed and worried for your dd and have a lot on your plate as it is. I hope you manage to work through it with him.

Am following the threads, just about, but have just felt a bit ´flat´ the last few days. I think it´s starting maternity leave so more hours in the day, not knowing what to do with myself, maybe slight anxiety about being a first time mum? and what it´s really going to be like. Also in the last couple of days lo has been moving so much, stretching and poking and generally taking up a lot of room leaving me feeling strangely overwhelmed. Moan, moan. It´s all fine but I don´t feel I have much constructive to say so just sticking to the sidelines... thought I´d better pop on and let you know I´m around.. I know what we all get like when someone hasn´t been in for a while - especially in our baby hungry state

maveta · 02/04/2007 16:43

Can I do a quick poll re. breastfeeding bras? I´ll have to order over ´tinternet so can´t try them on, shall I just take my current bra size and go up one cup size??

nuttygirl · 02/04/2007 16:46

Maveta - I got some that adjust so cover a few sizes (eg. you can change the cup size from say a B to a D and the other bit changes from 34 - 38). They were Emma Jane ones...not sure where you get them...mine were from Boots but reduced to £2 so assume they're not selling them anymore. Am sure you'll find some if you google for it!

Oh and Ellie I keep meaning to thank you for the updates too.

octo · 02/04/2007 16:51

Can't help with bf bra sizes - but I do like my bravado one.

Nappy alert - did you buy the swaddlebees organic velour one size or size small?

Dh taken boys to park with footballs and picnic so having some peace and quiet - making fish pie for tea and sorting ironing BORING!!!!

I got quite excited today when realised could say the baby is due next week!!! arrgghhhhhhhhh runs screaming to the hills.... calm, calm, calm ... think calm!

octo · 02/04/2007 16:52

DH has suddenly clicked he has agreed to buy another pushchair (the one on freecycle feel through) ... has a kind of puzzled look on his face when I mention it!

Birdiebump · 02/04/2007 16:58

Eddas - haven't you had it yet?

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 02/04/2007 16:58

Ellie, I would also like to say a huge thank you to you for sorting us all out with these email updates. It really is a fab idea! What are we going to do though when you go off and have your baby??

Maveta, good to hear from you. I wondered where you and CB had got to.

Octo, home made fish pie sounds yummy!

Right, off to get Becky. See you all later. xx

Birdiebump · 02/04/2007 17:00

Sorry Eddas - you are my mobile buddy and I neeed some excitement!

LesleyR - thinking of you - I have been there on more than one occasion it is hard.

Good luck vibes to mmk - sounds as though she has been suffering.

And another thank you to Ellie, the heroine of this thread (much prefer Ellie to thePA btw!) who is keeping everything ticking over.

Hello eddas (((waves)))

Lucewheel - I am after a single in blue or charcoal grey - preferably the new swivel/fixed wheel rather than just the fixed one - have just rung the shop you said and they have one of the fixed ones at £169 but can get on ebay for £150 so probably wouldn;t go for it. Thanks - didn't know there was a baby shop there so thats useful to know!

Hi octo,

Just been reading an AIBU thread and the poor woman, soo not unreasonable. Makes me thankful i have my dh. The stories you read on here about some peoples lives make me really appreciate mine.

liath · 02/04/2007 17:39

Ellie - do you have my email?

Not much to report here, still lots of tightenings. Thought for an exciting moment my waters had gone but it was just the combination of baby's head being low and my lousy pelvic floor .

Dd was in nursery this afternoon so I had a nap - bliss.

Congratulations to Dooby and scary birth story, Bubblez. Shame the midwives panicked, understandable maybe but not so good for you.

My younger sister's wee boy has started sleeping through already at 8 weeks old ! I've offered to pay her to wet nurse mine as she cleary makes superior milk (or else is hitting the vodka bottle before the night feed !).

Eddas · 02/04/2007 17:48

Right, i'm going to have an mn free night, so have a good evening everyone and when i log on tomorrow morning i expect someone to have some baby news

EllieKthePA · 02/04/2007 17:50

no Liath, doesn't look like i do

send me an email [email protected]

EllieKthePA · 02/04/2007 17:51

erm, Eddas, you are supposed to be providing us with the baby news

maveta · 02/04/2007 18:56

Octo - was a newborn size.. it´s the same upper weight limit as the size 1 but has the button down umbilical bit at the front.. still haven´t taken the plunge with any AIOs and reckon I´ll have to wait a fair while now before I´ll have any case to put to dh for needing more nappies!!

Re. bf bras.. Guess I´ll just order a size bigger than I need now, I mean they say you should be able to fit a fist in there, right? So that must be at least one cup? I´ve always been an A and have gone up to a B but from the blooming marvellous site´s measurements I´m actually currently working out as a C which means I should get a D... and I just can NOT believe that can possibly be right.

Katy44 · 02/04/2007 19:17

Hello everyone,
Have had a really nice day with my friend and her LO. Her baby is really easy going - I want one like that!!

Pesha · 02/04/2007 19:20

Maveta id recommend the bravado bras, they come in small, medium, large etc sizes that are intended to cover a couple of cup sizes each and so stretch as needed. They're also incredibly comfortable, especially for the early stages.

Pesha · 02/04/2007 19:24

bravado bras

And if you buy from here you can get 10% MN discount but may well be able to find them cheaper elsewhere, think i remember seeing them buy 2 save £x somewhere but dont remember where
