Nutty - why all the men in uniform? Where do you live? Can I come over?

nuttygirl · 29/03/2007 16:28

lol...they're having some neighbourhood safety thing. Been outside all day and will be tomorrow i think. They've been doing door to door house calls all day about safety and waste management (). Think it was organised by the local council housing association (not sure what they're called but sure you'll know what i mean) but they seem to be doing the private houses too.

Hi nuttygirl I am glad that I am not the only one feeling the annoyance of still being pregnant!!! I loved being pregnant the first couple of months but have been really uncomfortable towards the end...

Am all set to go and ready for a quick labour would like to think that it would be anyway...

Sorry to keep ranting on just can't moan to dh.. as he doesn't really understand!

any news from Oooggs?

nuttygirl · 29/03/2007 17:13

No news from Ooogs yet...

I've really enjoyed being pregnant but have just got fed up now. Feel like it's preventing me doing normal stuff and anything I can still manage to do needs a lot more effort. I'm also really bored at the moment and just think that at least if baby was here I'd have something to do.

CaptainDippy · 29/03/2007 17:17

No news from Oooogs.

DH is being grumpy now ..... fan"bloody"tastic.

Sigh.

Nutty - Can I join you and your men in uniform?? I need cheering up .....

nuttygirl · 29/03/2007 17:19

Of course you can CD...pop round anytime

CaptainDippy · 29/03/2007 17:33

Brilliant - whereabouts are you?

nuttygirl · 29/03/2007 17:44

LEEDS!!!

Mum has just been on phone to see if her parcel arrived...now she's worried cos it hasn't. Fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow.

maveta · 29/03/2007 17:51

Eca - thanks for the offer hun but my mum just called to say she´s going to bring me back some from the UK so all sorted. Very sweet of you though, thanks

We´ve had 2 weeks off our AN classes and were going to go back tonight but apparently the mw is on holiday so class is cancelled. Ho hum.. was looking forward to it but also quite glad to not have to go.. think we´re going to go for pizza instead..YUM! Although I´m getting a bit worried that we´re not going to actually have any of the classes where they talk about the birth before it happens!! We came in late so we´ve had post-partum, breastfeeding, looking after a newborn, vaccinations etc (zzzzz), we MUST be working our way back around to birth soon, right?? Unfortunately the receptionist didn´t have the foggiest what class they´re on. I won´t be impressed if we go back next week and pay our money to hear a chat on early pregnancy .

congrats to all of you who have babies moving in the right direction.. Mine is head down but I don´t think even remotely engaged (they´ve never checked!) and my bump has definitely not dropped. Dh swears it has and I assure him that when it does I am pretty sure I´ll notice.

YvieE · 29/03/2007 17:59

Hiya Ladies

Even although i moaned constantly about wanting to start ML, now its here I don't know what to do with myself and I also wish baby was here - as a first timer though i may live to regret wishing away this "me time"
DP has the man flu and is being a complete and utter pratt.
RH - Sorry to hear about DS
ROFL re: things DCs say, didn't there used to be a programme on TV like that?
Went to the hospital yesterday as I hadn't felt baby move as much - am really confused about this ten kicks thing, and the MWs aren't really sure either. I asked whether it was ten kicks, or ten bouts of kicks\movement - but they said well thats really only a guide and just call us if you fell the baby moving less than usual and bear in mind that as you get closer to your due date the baby moves less as it has less room to move around...HUH?
Anyway had a scan baby's head is 30cm and weighs roughly 6.5 lbs

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 29/03/2007 18:04

Yvie - there is alot of confusion over the 10 kick thing - I think what they said is good advice - if it is less than normal and worried - go and get checked - I went everyday with ds 2 after his due date - he simply ran out of space! Ds2 head was 38cm at birth - in the 99th percentile on growth charts (in red book they give you to track growth & dev) I was really worried about the size of his head for ages as can be a sign something is wrong but when saw his peadatrician about his egg allergy mentioned it to her - she said that it is likely that me and dh have big heads too - so she measured mine - and guess what??!!!

I have decided to wait for 3 weeks for this baby afterall LOL!

maveta · 29/03/2007 18:06

Hey Yvie - that does sound confusing..I guess it would be 10 lots of movements.. like, um, yeah, no I don´t know either

I just have to share that my SIL gave me this and it´s amazing! It´s just a long skinny beanbag and is so comfy for sleeping, can imagine it will be great for breastfeeding too.

Just had to share..

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 29/03/2007 18:09

Does it have a hole in the middle so you can lie on your tummy???

nuttygirl · 29/03/2007 18:11

Looks like DH is on his way home...yay! I need his help understanding some techie stuff!

Yvie - it's so frustrating when someone tells youto watch out for baby moving less than normal and then going on to say it'll move less than normal as it gets bigger. My mw says that to. I haven't worried too much tbh, I find I have less kicks than normal but can still feel baby shifting about. If I'm worried I get in the bath - there's a vent on the wall and when a little draft comes through I can see the baby's bum move away from it!!!

YvieE · 29/03/2007 18:11

Hiya Octo - have the contractions died down?
and OMG-38 cm, did you have a natural birth?
*

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 29/03/2007 18:15

episiotomy and ventouse - not suprisingly!!

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 29/03/2007 18:17

and three of them pulling on it! dh still not recovered from it!

nuttygirl · 29/03/2007 18:17

Oooo...Octo...you're making me wanna cross my legs

and i can't

maveta · 29/03/2007 18:18

Oh Octo - don´t! Dh has got a pretty big head and he´s always going on about being worried for me in case the baby takes after him. Eeeeek!

YvieE · 29/03/2007 18:26

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Octo.
Well meausred my head, she definitely does not get it from me .
Maveta the freebag looks good - was thinking about getting one of those widgey pillow things but not sure how useful they are

bEllieK · 29/03/2007 18:28

i've got one of these

OP posts:
bEllieK · 29/03/2007 18:29

bEllieK · 29/03/2007 18:32

i'm off to antenatal tonight so back later!

OP posts:
octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 29/03/2007 18:32

My mum got me a pillow at christmas - but is much longer and straighter - not comfy at all and so big couldn;t possible feed using it - have bought a doomoo to match the nursery! I neeeeeded it LOL

maveta · 29/03/2007 18:33

Ellie/Yvie - that´s what I was trying to get but couldn´t find here, had resigned myself to using whatever pillows/ cushions were to hand but the freebag is FAB. Is also great as a cushion behind you if you need to sit up straight on the sofa and not slump, like I do, as it gives a really solid support that doesn´t slowly flatten behind you.

Octo - no, no hole in the middle but you can skoosh the beans around and leave it empty in the middle (or either end for that matter) and padded out at either end.. though it´s probably not quite big enough for us to balance on it face down! LOL at that image
