Really birdie?? You have been to yeovil before?! But meet up would be great, i always think of exeter as being ages away but suppose its not really, especially now i can drive.

As for the raspberry leaf i tried to drink a cup of tea with dd when i went overdue but even when it was practically 50% honey/lemon/brown sugar/anything else I could think of to try and disguise the taste I still couldnt bring myself to drink more than a few sips! But then i dont like tea of any sort really. Cant decide whether to take tablets or not, want after pains to be less but I dont want labour to be much quicker really. Last time was about 18 hours from very first contraction to baby popping out but that suited me fine, all but the last hour and a half was spent at home, most of it with me not realising it was the real thing!

Lusciousladylush · 29/03/2007 14:18

Am I the only one enjoying the quiet before the storm with late pregnancy? I'm quite happy to wait and let nature take its course - unless of course I go over my due date. Or is that becasue I remember what it was like last time - now the new one is almost upon me. hmmm... maybe its the latter!.

bEllieK · 29/03/2007 14:20

no LL, i'm feeling like that too. just plodding along until it's ready to come out!

Have just waddled into town - my walking days seem to be numbered for sure. The baby's head must be right in my groin because it's actually bloody painful to walk now. Ho hum, only 4 or 5 more weeks of that to look forward to then!

Have just bought Em a darlek - she is totally Dr Who mad and has twigged that the baby will be buying her presents (so in the car this morning I was asked if I thought the baby might get her a darlek). See, she's not stupid is she, as mummy has just rushed out to get her one .

nuttygirl · 29/03/2007 14:23

think i'm just fed up cos I've been sat on my arse for 9 months!!! All the stuff I used to do to entertain myself is a bit difficult now

Pesha · 29/03/2007 14:25

Im the same LLL, part of me wants to meet the baby and I am starting to get abit fed up with SPD getting worse and morning sickness returning but im in no hurry for sleepless nights, bleeding nips and 'other places', shitty nappies/vests/sleepsuits/sheets, after pains... nope quite happy to keep him in abit longer

(sorry to all first timers, its lovely really, honest )

nuttygirl · 29/03/2007 14:25

Aw bless...nothing gets past kids does it!!!??!!!

flumppootle · 29/03/2007 14:27

bEllieK · 29/03/2007 14:27

keep meaning to say to you all - my one tip for labour - NATURAL SPONGE!

not the synthetic type, natural, straight from the sea type, it's more expensive but is still sold in tesco etc. I found it was great for keeping me hydrated, lips moist etc, you can put it in a jug of water then suck on it, wet lips etc when needed

Lusciousladylush · 29/03/2007 14:32

another tip for labour.

dextrox tablets. Really useful for giving you some extra energy when you start to flag, after all they don't call it labour for nothing! Combined with gas and air, the high I was on from 1.5 packets of these little beaties lasted about 5 hours after the birth!..

Like the spo0nge tip though, must add it to my mat bag!

hensden · 29/03/2007 14:40

Good luck ooggs hope things start happening soon

Saw MW today 38+4 baby now head down, but not at all engaged, sitting very high and probably the cause of my ongoing sickness. Got a prescription for pain killers for afterpains.

I've had several comments on the how long have you got to go lines, but when I say everyone has said Oh you don't look that big
Where as DH says I'm enormous and my belly button has never poked out this much before I've also woken up after having slept on my front several times, not uncomfortable for me at all, i'll probably have a flat baby though, a bit worrying but ho hum..

Well done on the bonnet Eddas

DS has asked the baby for an Mp3 player, with DD we bought him a camera and he took the first pictures he was chuffed.

Runny hope DS feels better soon

Better go now pc keeps losing it's network connection (whatever that means)

bEllieK · 29/03/2007 14:42

meand your internet lead is loose i would guess

hi all

just popping in for a quick catch up before i head out to work at 3. Hope everyone' doing ok. My poor dh is off work today ill. I wont let him come near me because I soooo don't want to catch anything!

Pesha - glad your app was so positive and you didn't get the nasty doc!

Nutty - no action eh? Back to the knicker watching!

Anyone heard from GMM? She's not been around for a while.

Oooogs - go girl! Looking forward to hearing your lovely news xxxxxx

runny - poor ds. that sounds nasty for the little love. LOL at house being too untidy for a homebirth. I keep stressing that ours is such a mess too. I'm pestering dh to do something about it!

Eddas - lol out bunny ears! Cute!

Maveta - I'd be happy to post you some rasp tea tabs from Holland & Barrett if you want. Drop me an e-mail with your address. Am going into town tomorrow and can pick them up then

ahhh.... need to go and put some make-up on so I don't scare everyone at work. Not got time to check octo's labour thread. hope you're doing ok lovely !!!

Lusciousladylush · 29/03/2007 14:46

My DS has just asked me what do I do when I am at work - bless! hes not yet 3, such an old question.... once I told him - I sit at a computer and do numbers and letters and then go talk to lots of people.. he said - then why do you go to work every day? Hmm makes you wonder doesn't it - very valid question... shortly followed by - now you are home will you still have pennies to buy me thomas trains and goodies????

Ah ha! so thats the crux of the question. Think I might have given birth to a budding politian! hope the next one is much more laid back!.

What are they like!.

Pesha · 29/03/2007 14:47

Oh yes meant to say earlier - messy house - one of my top reasons for not wanting a home birth!!

eca · 29/03/2007 14:48

Emmy - LOL at Em wanting a darlek! Cute!

bEllieK · 29/03/2007 14:48

mine too

OP posts:
Lusciousladylush · 29/03/2007 14:49

I would't want a home birth - last thing I want to have to do it sort out cleaning up the mess once babies popped out! Want someone else to do that, and have a few minutes piece lying on a clean bed without DS running around and jumping all over me - otherwise I'll be temped to get up and put a wash on - whilst waiting for the afterbirth to pop out... and DH would probably still expect dinner and me to put DS to bed!!!

bEllieK · 29/03/2007 14:51

off to get bro from college now, he's my 16 yr old surrogete son!
