No this is my first. Tbh I was a bit worried about the hospital cos have heard a few stories about mw's who are stuck in their ways (not specifically at LGI). Was really pleased when I went to the a/n classes and mw was really pro active birth and staying mobile. She even said if you don't like your mw just ask for another!!! Also they have 3 birth pools and I'd quite like a water birth.

(this thread has more twists than a soap!)

Lovely names

Lots of love to all of them

MAIBT - Ninky Nonk? Now I really want to change my nickname to Nicky Nonk. Or maybe Binky Bonk would be more in keeping today (here's hoping)?

Ellie - c'mon, spill the beans....

Emmymummy · 27/03/2007 19:17

Opinions - drove past some more tarmacing today. Opened the car windows right up and breathed very deeply. Had to drive past a couple of times in fact.

babysopiniontakesover · 27/03/2007 19:18

Yes - some of them are very very stuck in their ways, but on the whole the know what they are doing - well obviously - but they are all really confident IYSWIM. As for water birth I wouldn't know cos I've never asked for one - straightforward sit up in a clean bed for me!!! The closest I got to it was when I was told to have a bath to "ease" the pain but then I was in so much pain I got stuck and couldn't get out. Oh well. Whereabouts in leeds are you roughly?

Some of them esp the older ones are overly bossy so my advice is to not be pushed around, they seem to do this more so with your first I've been told. On the whole though its fine. Wouldn't it be funny if we went in the same day - we'll have to keep an eye out on here!!!!!!!

bEllieK · 27/03/2007 19:19

ok, so ................

i woke up this morning having just finished a dream where someone had had their baby, i thought it was Captain Dippy, and it was a little girl, but then realised the surname was Day, which I think is your surname EmmyMummy?

was very confusing! so one of you will be having a girl, just annoyed i can't remember the rest of the baby's name

babysopiniontakesover · 27/03/2007 19:19

Emmy think I am gonna puke.

Emmymummy · 27/03/2007 19:19

Oh yes, CD, wouldn't mind a wee trip to Brighton. Gotta get the Easter hols out of the way first though I think - unless you want to meet with the DCs in tow?

babysopiniontakesover · 27/03/2007 19:21

Anyway this baby need to go and stuff its face so see you about 3 hours!!!

Any more by then I wonder?

Emmymummy · 27/03/2007 19:21

Ellie, that's my surname and I'm having a girl. Does that means she's going to come soon? Do you have any physic tendancies at all?

Emmymummy · 27/03/2007 19:22

Pah, can't spell, but you know what I mean.....

babysopiniontakesover · 27/03/2007 19:23

Not on the ball tonight with the spelling, there's too much excitement I think.

bEllieK · 27/03/2007 19:23

not that i know of, but .................................................

tis very odd

bEllieK · 27/03/2007 19:24

was so sure it was dippy tho, until i thought again about the surname.

nuttygirl · 27/03/2007 19:30

Yeah I'm a bit worried mw's will try to boss me about a bit cos it's my first...think DH is worried I'll be mean and offensive to them! I'm in Morley, not far from the white rose shopping centre, how about you?

bEllieK · 27/03/2007 19:31

wish i didn't live quite so far away from everyone else

nuttygirl · 27/03/2007 19:36

Well it could be 3 of us on the same day at the same hospital!!! Would that beat 4 on a day????

nuttygirl · 27/03/2007 19:37

Oh ellie , whereabouts do you live (i know i should know that already!)

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 27/03/2007 19:40

Great name change bEllieK

Nutty - don;t worry too much about the midwives - just make sure dh knows what you want and they discuss stuff with you both first so you know what is happening - most birth plans go out the window!

Dh wants to know what car Bramshott gave birth in!!! Apparently its important

Love the names Zed and Lola (read as Zola at first LOL)

Eastenders and Holby City tonight ....

bEllieK · 27/03/2007 19:42

i'm in Suffolk, eca is about an hour away, cazboldy is too (tho she hasn't been on for a while)

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 27/03/2007 19:43

Maybe I could be bigoctopussy!!!!

nuttygirl · 27/03/2007 19:46

Is it really bad that I had to ask DH where suffolk is ...i'm such a northerner!!! I feel really far away from friends/family etc cos most are either much further north or south. Hopefully when the LOs are old enough we can all have a meet up somewhere!

muminabigtumi · 27/03/2007 19:48

Anyone thought about Birth announcement cards yet?

I am just surfing online - just wondered if anyone had any recommendations. My best friend did them for James but she is getting married 2 days before this one is due so a bit busy!!!

nuttygirl · 27/03/2007 19:57

I don't think we're bothering with birth announcement cards, just gonna send christening invitations to a few of DHs family.

nuttygirl · 27/03/2007 19:58

Don't know if they do birth announcements but we used a company called Wedding stationery Etc for our wedding invitations and found them to be a lot cheaper than high street stores, good quality too.
