Night shift checking in. I think baby is not well but I can't put a finger on it. Her poo is very runny, full of mucus and has a foul smell instead of the mild breastfed poo smell with the mustard yellow graininess to it. Mind you dh and I have had some really smelly farts in the last 12hrs so it could be something I ate that I passed on in the milk. Maybe the roast Mediterranean veg with chicken weren't such a good idea.

glitterglitters · 17/07/2017 03:29

Heya just on dh's night feed too. Does sound like something you've eaten if you've had similar wind. My mate used to gave this wjth garlic.

Struggling to keep eyes eyes tonight. I bet because dh tied to work in the am

Notyetthere · 17/07/2017 03:39

Yes the roast veg had lots of red onion that were very yum. SIL did say that affected her. Oh no. I love onion. I have onion in most of my savoury dishes and salads. We also had lamb chilli on Friday which was very spicy so I can imagine 2 days worth of not so breastfeeding friendly meals and this is what I end up with. Poor thing.

Notyetthere · 17/07/2017 03:46

Not that she minds though. She is currently sleeping in my arms but she has not been straining or anything. She has been happily pooing away. 2 smelly changes in the last hr. Cried a little at having a cold wipe on her bottom I would also cry at having a cold wipe on my bottom

Lallypopstick · 17/07/2017 04:41

Another one reporting for night shift but not for any exciting reason. Just needed the toilet. I was hoping for something to have progressed by now, and as it hasn't, looks like OH is going to work this morning. Though there are still a few hours left!

@Notyetthere am I remembering correctly that you have a cocoonababy for your snuzpod? My health visitor was a bit funny about my cocoonababy as she said she can only recommend flat mattresses. Wondered how it's working - and it it's not you, hopefully the person who it is reads this!

LuciBee231015 · 17/07/2017 04:44

Hi ladies, I'm on the night shift too, well early morning now! George was literally feeding non stop all day yesterday but has gone every 3 hours between feeds during the night which has been amazing, I actually feel like I have caught some sleep!

DH back to work today I don't want him to go!! I have visitors so won't be on my own, but he is like my comfort blanket so nervous without him

Spindelina · 17/07/2017 05:11

I managed a grand total of two hours sleep last night! Something about stimulating my supply...

Hopefully I should get some sleep during the day while DD is at school.

glitterglitters · 17/07/2017 06:44

Oh dear lots of tired people this morning.

I'm 44 minutes into sahm with 2 kids and everybody seems ok. Just have to survive till 4pm 🙈

ButterflyFree · 17/07/2017 11:27

Another tired one over here 🙋🏼 Baby Z suddenly started guzzling like a machine since yesterday and wants feeding pretty much constantly. He did pass out from a milk coma at around 00:30 and slept through till 04:30 though, which was utterly blissful as I managed to sleep for that entire time too. Still hasn't stopped me from feeling like a zombie this morning though!

This is his 'GIMME THE MILK!!' face

Ohhh he's gorgeous. Yep. Sounds like you've entered the cluster feeding stage. Good luck!!! Lots of tv, snacks and cups of tea being fetched for you.

I managed to get away with 10:30-3:30ish-6:30.

I'm happy with that!!!

glitterglitters · 17/07/2017 11:30

You almost feel worse for getting some sleep and your body wanting more afterwards!

Notyetthere · 17/07/2017 13:00

Lally* yes that was me with the cocoonbaby. We are getting on well with it. We use it downstairs as it's so easy to move around. We put it on the corner part of our corner group sofa ad it's wide enough there. Midwife and health visitor have been twice and cooed over baby sleeping in it and said nothing about laying baby on only flat surfaces. Apparently they use them in French hospitals. The only negative is that our baby is growing out of it fast. I watched her stretch out in yesterday and her legs dangled way beyond the bar. She is a tall girl.

Butterfly he is gorgeous! So tiny and sweet in his sleepyhead.

Luci glad you are getting some sleep now.

Glitters hope day 1 of sahm is progressing smoothly. You are right, it
looks like newborn acne. As far as I can tell today it hasn't spread any further or got worse so I will keep an eye on it for now.

Spindelina · 17/07/2017 13:59

Just had day 3 weigh in: 9% loss, so no going back to hospital etc etc. Woohoo! Still got to get through day 5, but feeling optimistic.

TinklingTheIvories · 17/07/2017 16:01

Just been to the hospital for Pre-induction checks. Was hooked up to the monitor for 20 mins of babies heart rate. Loved listening to it. Roll on tomorrow and the induction process begins properly

Trying to convince family that the pic is our latest scan, I don't think they believe us!

ButterflyFree · 17/07/2017 18:22

I didn't think cluster feeding would start this soon @glitterglitters 😩

@TinklingTheIvories is that baby Morph?! I used to love that show as a kid... I had one of the real plasticine figurines from one of the episodes; they filmed it in the same TV studios my mum worked at. If I could find it I'd send it to you so you could present it to your family as your new arrival 😂

@Spindelina That's good news about the weight! We have our day 5 visit tomorrow (the midwife didn't check his weight on day 3) and I'm a bit worried that he will have lost more than 10%... He wasn't feeding a huge amount in the first couple of days but he's certainly been making up for lost time over the past 36 hours 🙈

TinklingTheIvories · 17/07/2017 18:59

@ButterflyFree I think it's from the NHS choices as it was surrounded by them posters

Spindelina · 17/07/2017 19:10

Butterfly DD lost 13%, so I wasn't exactly looking forward to it!! And actually, even with that weight loss she was fine - just needed help getting feeding sorted.

Algebraic · 17/07/2017 22:17

Currently googling every pre-labour symptom going... have had mild, irregular contractions today and now period cramps this eve. This sounds odd but I have a lot of pressure and feel very open?! Blush I'm waddling around.
I know from chatting with you ladies on here that this could go on for weeks though. Would be nice if not as 2 days off due date.

Sewingbeatshousework · 18/07/2017 01:54

I'm the same algebraic, 39+2 with 3rd dc but still google 'symptoms' several times a day Blush

MW attempted a sweep earlier but said she couldn't touch cervix, as she took her hand out there was a big gush of blood! She sent me straight up to maternity assessment unit to be checked out as she didn't know where the blood could have came from - after being stuck up there for 2 hours being monitored I had an internal and dr found cervix immediately, low and at the front Confused - bleeding had stopped at that point so can only presume MW found cervix and knocked it without realising? Very strange! Dr gave me a sweep while she was in there anyway.

My symptom spotting is now on high alert...

Lallypopstick · 18/07/2017 06:47

Nothing is happening. Nothing.

MrsMingo · 18/07/2017 09:28

Same here @lallypopstick 4 days passed due date now as well.

But after speaking to my mum on the phone today she said she never got any of the symptoms before she had me or my two sisters. No show nothing just contractions and the waters broke when ready to push. So I'm feeling optimistic.

Algebraic · 18/07/2017 09:46

@Sewingbeatshousework eek she must have been ferreting around in the wrong place! I've had that before, I always have trouble at smear tests because my cervix tilts off to one side and angles back. They can never get it. Hope your sweep gets you going.

I had the cramps all night and this morning I've had a lot of plug come away, a lot of it tinged brown, assuming old blood?

Spindelina · 18/07/2017 12:46

And we have mustard poo! So very happy - never got to this stage with DD before she was on formula.

ButterflyFree · 18/07/2017 16:40

Yaay @Spindelina - we got our first mustard poop today too! Never thought I'd live to see the day I get excited about excrement 😂

Baby Z has had a very eventful day: met his maternal great-grandparents, had his Day 5 midwife check, passed the weigh-in with an 8.7% loss (down from 2.85kg birth weight to 2.6kg today), had his heel prick test without even so much as flinching, cord clamp fell off (thank goodness! It was disgusting 😷), and had his first bath.

Oh, and my husband has now given him a Mohawk.
