@Iamchanging oh no i feel so sorry for you. From what i've been told brown blood is ok but it still must be very frightening especially abroad! I'd personally go and get checked out - try not to stress though!!

i thought i was getting lucky as symptoms seemed to have been easing!
now the nausea is back with a vengeance lol!

Oh Jesus @Iamchanging ! You poor thing. This happened to me when pg with DS I was on a girls weekend in France around 8 weeks and started bleeding. It was a Sunday and nothing was open and didn't know where the nearest hospital was so I took the next flight home (I remember it costing an arm and a leg!) and got a scan at hospital as soon as I landed. Everything was fine and I hope everything is fine for you!

@Iamchanging I've had lots of brown discharge from week 5 through 8
The MW and consultant both said that it's usually nothing and to only get concerned if it's lots of bright red and very bad cramps
It's so scary though.

I think mine was coming from my cervix being irritated with odd BM (TMI sorry)
But I was very constipated and then having loose movements too.
From my experience of China (I spent 3 months there in 2009 and I still don't think my digestive systems works the same) could this be what's causing it? For you too?
I actually kinda felt like my cervix was sore

Drink plenty of water/fluids while resting xxx

Thanks everyone for the replies. I've thought about coming home but it's 24 hours door to door so probably better for the baby for me just to rest and be calm for a couple of days and give it the best chance possible. Keep everything crossed for me please!

iamchanging terrible to be away from home when you are so worried. Brown blood tends to be old blood. Do take care though and if cramps get much worse go get checked out. I hope it all clears up for you and all is well.

@Iamchanging how is everything at the moment?

@Iamchanging is there any way your company can limit your overseas travelling?

It seems to have slowed down but the cramps are still there. Like stabbing pains on and off. After this trip I am just going to tell them and refuse to travel outside of Europe. I was in the US last week and switching a whole 12 hours with normal pregnancy exhaustion is killing me. The problem is my boss (the CEO) HATES pregnant women. Like to a scary degree. So if I told him too soon and lost the baby he would find an excuse to fire me before I got pregnant again. He's just horrible, constantly goes on about "we're not running a charity 😡"

@Iamchanging Hope you're doing OK. Your boss sounds horrific. It might be worth keeping a record of any comments he makes about your pregnancy etc with times and dates - just in case you ever need to build a case.

I second what Elle says. Your boss's attitude is not just horrible, it's illegal. Pregnant women are well protected by employment law, but some awful people get away with behaving in this way because when they target pregnant women, they are attacking people at their most vulnerable and least able to fight back. Keep a record of anything he says along these lines, hopefully you won't need it but it never hurts to be prepared! I hope you're feeling a little better after some rest

I've been collecting for a while Elle and Robin! I've got an email where he refused to employ someone with Crohn's disease, and witnesses to him getting rid of someone from interview who had an epileptic fit. Once. Two years ago! He wouldn't be so stupid to fire me if I was pregnant, but if (heaven forbid) I do lose it then all bets would be off. Bleeding / spotting has slowed right down now so hopefully the bed rest is doing the trick. Thank you all for caring x

Are you still going to get checked out? I'd say it might be worthwhile just to make sure.

Just brown at the moment. It's 9.30 pm here so I'm going to see what it's like overnight and then make a decision. TMI but I've now got a really upset stomach (despite being super careful what I eat) but grasping at straws I'm hoping that might be what's causing it? Based on zero scientific knowledge whatsoever!

Just take care. Maybe you have an infection or something can you take your temp at all to see if you have raised temp? This can make you feel like you are sick.

Seen our little one moving around too! Still can't believe how amazing it looked

DH asked if he could video and was told no 😕
The images we got aren't great as it was moving around so much

Got blood taken for the Panorama test too
I'm feeling a little sorry for myself as my arm is bruised, doctors really aren't as good as nurses at taking blood!

I'mchanging hope all is well, must be horrible to be away from home and be so worried, but it sounds like you are doing all the right things to look after yourself

Ok just for fun and a bit silly but I did the bicarbonate of soda gender test this morning! You put a couple of spoons of bicarb in a glass and pour on first morning urine and apparently if it fizzes and bubbles up like a pint of beer then it's a boy and if it stays flat with no fizz it's a girl. My result was definitely a girl!! Really silly but just a bit of fun in this stressful first 12 weeks, so if anyone else wants to have a go and share their results on here and further on we can see how accurate (or not) they were! 😂
