@whoknows123 my symptoms have eased off the last two days and it got me worried

But through all my mad researching it seems every pregnancy is different and symptoms aren't really a reliable way to make sure everything is ok
There are so many stories of MMC with loads of pregnancy symptoms and others of no symptoms and healthy babies

I'm 11 weeks today!

On Tuesday I was walking to school with my DS who is 8yo. A mum spotted me and pointed to my tummy and said "Congratulations!" all excited. I had to shake my head and put my fingers to my lips to shhh her. My DS does not know and neither does anyone else...but she'd spotted a bump She was very embarrassed and I was mortified! So I have spent most of the week doing school runs trying to make sure my tummy is well hidden.

I also still feel horrendously ill and my work and home is really suffering. Oh dear!! Hoping all the sickness gets better soon!

Whoknows try not to worry. I know plenty of people who had healthy pregnancies with no symptoms at all!

Has anyone ate bacon whilst pregnant? I've been wary of it and just ordered smothered chicken from brewers fayre lol!

I've eaten lots of bacon and did throughout my last pregnancy too. You'll be fine!

I eat anything when pregnant. Wouldn't even think not to! I remember last time my midwife telling me to avoid blue cheese which made me really want blue cheese so I got a massive bit on the way home and devoured it

@Waitingonasmile and @Victoriaaaaaaaa oh god the thought of bacon... 🤢🤢🤢 The smell makes me gag. I was the same in my last pregnancy.

@pickledprogress pregnacare makes me feel rough too! My friend told me you can get it in liquid form but I can't find that anywhere! I've switched to Boots own brand folic acid.

For those of us with school age or older DC how are you planning on telling them the news? We are planning on telling DS (6, 7 by the time this one comes) tomorrow. I bought I'm a 'im going to be a big brother' t-shirt and then we plan to take him to the cinema and pizza express or something as a treat to spoil him. I'd hate to think he thinks he'll be less loved :(

pickledprogress I completely understand about being emotional. I started crying this evening because my toddler was enjoying his dinner.

Mills we have 8 yo and 6yo. We are planning on telling them after the scan, in 10 days. We hadn't planned anything special but I suppose we could get a takeaway or something! I need to tell them soon before I have anyone else say anything about my ever expanding tummy

@GruffaloSoldier DS was giving me a cuddle the other day while I was wearing my jeans and he asked why I have a hair tie holding my jeans together  I said mummy's jeans were broken. Now that we've had the scan I can just say mummy's just getting fat!

My dc are 10 & 7. I was thinking of buying a baby book (one of those ones that you can fill in baby's family tree). And filling some of the bits in, along with a scan pic....

Too much? Not sure. Whatever we do, it'll be in a couple of weeks.

I had a scan today and saw the legs kicking and arm buds wiggling and the smudge now looks like a baby . I think it's finally sunk in that I'll (all being well) have two kids soon!! I know maybe I've been a bit slow to pick up on this but it finally seems real.

Wow, great scan news millsbynight and waitingonasmile! I had my 12 week scan (and booking in) today too, and baby was doing great! It was having a wee sleep, and the placenta was in the way a bit, so the photos aren't great but the live feed was awesome; we got to see all of baby eventually from different angles! I'm so relieved and happy; I was so anxious and tormented with doubt the last few days. It's measuring 11+6, and they've calculated my due date as 28 December, which is odd as going by my dates alone (12+1) the MN calcuator put me at 31 December. Please don't chuck me out of the club!

@whoknows I'm not completely symptom free but very very minimal and totally understand the worry. Have had 3 scans though and everything growing as it should be so perhaps we are just the very lucky ones (clearly will have nightmare births/devil children to make up for it).

Congrats @waiting and @mlm on your scans too!! This is all getting very real now :) mine is Wednesday and although I've had my early scans and know baby is doing ok I'm now worried about the testing and something being wrong...is this just part of parenthood?? Worrying about everything?! I'm usually so chilled 🙈

Thanks for the add and new thread. This is my second LO. My last group migrated from here over to a private FB group (no one except members can see your posts) it's was so much easier to keep up. Plus you don't have to keep refreshing threads. What does everyone think?

Job this week - dr appointment about sickness - 7+6 and I've been feeling sick for over a week all day and now am being sick :(
I was like this til 26 weeks last time - that's October!!!

See midwife on Friday for booking in - tempted to be vague on dates so have earlier scan! Although if I feel this rough surely it's okay?

I had my booking in appointment on Thursday and it went well. Midwife wasn't concerned by my lack of symptoms or, as she called it, lack of sickness! It just seems I am one of the fortunate ones...

One thing I forgot to mention to her is that I have had a consistently high inner ear temperature (wish I'd have not checked at work so I'd be oblivious to this and therefore less worry) of 39.4... is this a cause for concern or should I just put it to the back of my mind? I feel fine in myself.

I know I'm over-analysing everything but after my scare the other week I am even more on edge and waiting for it all to go wrong. Missed miscarriage is my new paranoia

Disinterested I have had a mmc (which was discovered 2 weeks later when it started to become a natural mc), so I understand the terror of that. But you have seen a heartbeat at your previous scan, haven't you? Seeing a heartbeat at 8 weeks lowers your chance of MC to something miniscule like 3%, so take heart and have faith! I know it's easier said than done. I myself was full of doubt and fear until the 12 week scan, and it's only now I feel I'm safe enough to attach to my baby (as if we have a choice in that!) and enjoy my pregnancy a bit more. X

pickledprogress I would be truthful on your dates. Otherwise, if you pretend an earlier date, the measurements could be off and that could worry you or the MW. It will all happen soon enough! But for sickness, there are things you can be prescribed to help, so hopefully that will do it for you!

Just got my letter!! 17th July my 12 week scan! Can't wait, hope everything keeps going well.

If you're vague on your dates pickled and your scan shows you to be something like 10+1 as it's a bit early they'll probably just date it off that and you won't get another one until 20 weeks. You usually get great pics from the 12 week one so don't miss it for the wrong reasons. You'd also be wasting valuable nhs resources if you end up with 2 scans.

You're all right - I'll be good about dates - just hate idea have another 4 weeks to wait! In terms if scans I'll prob be consultant led again due to a surgery I had down there - meant more scans for growth etc... remember having one booked on the day I went into labour and politely asking them to cancel it for me!

Morning sickness is horrendous today - first time I've been sick - just like with my little girl - sick at 8 weeks
