Hi all - 10 weeks today - had scan appointment through - 21st - so two more weeks to wait! Really nervous about it due to previous losses however Sickness is still all day mixed with heart burn - only been sick twice though! See it as a horrid happy reminder! Lovely to see happy scan picks!

Thanks weasel and WLMcl. No it's not my first. I have 2 DD 10 and 12. I'm sure ppl will think I'm crazy going back to the baby days now my life is much easier esp with a teenager in tow.
I can empathise with the sickness pickled and issywizzle. Been having the worst nausea for the last 2 months steadily getting worse all evening till I'm asleep. I don't remember it ever being so bad before. Its not easing up at 13 wks as it's supposed to either.

@ForumUsername I only experienced it the day I posted on here but maybe for about an hour. From googling it does seem very common. It made it very uncomfortable to stay sat down and I tried to go to the toilet but I was struggling to sit on the seat whilst I had the pains. Google Fanny Daggers because it does seem to be widely referred to as that and seems quite normal in pregnancy. Hopefully they settle down for you!

I'm having one of those days where you just feel rough all day and can't wait for bedtime so that you might feel better tomorrow! 12 weeks now but scan not until a week tomorrow which feels like ages away!

poppypopsicle I'm the same, ds is 15 and I know a lot of people are going to think I've gone completely crazy going right back to the beginning again! I think it's going to be a shock to the system for me too! 😂

@Maybebaby2 I am in a similar boat - my youngest is 7! People are very surprised!

OK, speaking of SPD, this is odd but I'm hoping someone on here has experienced it before! For the last 3 weeks or so I have had an increasingly sore, er, coccyx! It literally feels like the bone is aching, as if I've fallen hard and bruised it (which I haven't), and no, it's not piles, I have checked! It's much more internal feeling anyway. I have tried stretching and yoga and it doesn't seem to have any effect either way. Does anybody else have experience of this? Does it sound like SPD or is that more to the front of the pelvis? Something I should get a GP appointment for, or just tough it out for 2 more weeks until my 16 week antenatal appointment? It's becoming rather difficult to sit, and standing up from sitting is becoming very painful actually.

ndo I told a few people we were planning to get pregnant and I was so surprised at how many said outright don't do it! For no other reason than "why would you want to do it all over again"! Erm well I kind of enjoyed bringing up ds and I never intended on just having 1, its just not happened or been the right time till now! Nobody knows as yet that we have in fact done it and I can't wait to see their reactions! 😂

Can't help with that one wlmcl but if it's really painful I would go and get it checked out sooner rather than waiting another two weeks.

Hello! Hope you've all had a good weekend. Does anyone know how seriously you need to take the advice about sleeping on your side? I'm a natural back-sleeper and trying to get to sleep on my side is proving difficult and disrupting my sleep (which is disrupted enough already with the constant toilet trips!). If it's really important, I'll persevere with it - but the only research I can find is from the fairly small and limited 2011 study in Auckland.

@WLMcI I had that a couple of weeks ago! As if I'd been sitting down too long and my coccyx had become sore, going from sitting to standing was oddly painful but it seems to have disappeared now...

@Maybebaby2 that's why we didn't tell anyone!!! We only told our dcs yesterday and they have been so sweet! Talking to my tummy and being very excited! It feels like a real family adventure!

@WLMcI I've had the same thing, some days worse than others. From what I've read it's most likely because the pelvis has relaxed, which also moves your coccyx to make room for baby, it is also linked to sciatica though so worth mentioning to go/midwife if it's really causing you lots of pain

Ellemcelle I'm not worrying about back sleeping until a bit later. I stopped or tried to at 20 weeks last time.

@Waitingonasmile - I think I'll give myself a break from it for a few weeks... Sleeping on my back is usually the only way I can drift off!

maybe yes I'm getting the same hip pain you are getting mine is round the back but predominantly on the right side and goes deep into the back of pelvis. Going to call drs today for appointment. It seems to come on after doing any amount of exercise whether it be a walk or a bit of gardening grrr.

Question: is anyone thinking of booking a break abroad? We are going to go in September to get a bit of sun somewhere. DH found a lovely looking place in Montenegro and it's just the kind of place we like to go- bit of culture, nice view of ocean and a relax. I'm a worry wart of course so once the initial excitement of planning the break had passed I then moved into the what happens if blah blah worry etc etc

I'm 11 weeks today and still have sore nipples but I don't think my boobs have really grown? All I read about online is that they're meant to be popping out my bra 😩

Misseyjones we got back from America 3 weeks ago and we are going to Spain in a September - I'm sure it will be fine and nice to have a relax in the sun

Had full harmony results and low risk and a little girl so happy! Really thought it was a boy so was really shocked!

Plus I did the bicarb soda in wee thing which suggested it was a girl too and that's ~very scientific~

@waitingonasmile I tried but can't see a nub on the scan! I think your looks like a girl! We have the 20 week scan on my partners birthday so he's made up, I'm gutted as means I can't now find out early as would spoil the fun for his birthday!

Scan went well today, such a relief after a sleepless night! EDD has moved to 11th Jan instead of 13th, that's one day before ds 16th birthday instead of one day after! 😂

Missy my hip pain has eased off today so I'm going to try and take it easy and see how I go. Let us know how you get on at doctors.
