Had my 12 week scan today and everything feels so much more real now, I feel like I can actually let myself believe that it's happening. It was great to see the little one wriggling around so much.
We got brought forward a day as well so now due on the 2nd Jan.

I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and having some stabbing pains that are quite uncomfortable whilst sat down. They feel like they come from just inside and then down to my bum (sorry not sure how else to phase that!!) Sometimes get them whilst I'm on my period so not sure what's normal or if I'm just worrying about everything! Has anyone else experienced anything like that?

@purplechoc I'm getting some internal stabbing type pains, I'm hoping it's just my uterus flipping from retroverted position to normal position.

Evening all - had book in today. Midwife said should stop folic acid by 16 weeks and go onto vit d - seems prolonged might lead to tongue tie?? Anyone else told this?

@Thingymaboob thanks, good to know it's not just me. They lasted about an hour on and off but haven't had any for 90 minutes so hopefully that's it. Quite painful at the time though!

Pickled I was also told to take it (well, pregnacare which has it in) all the way through. It's what I was told, and did, last time too.

Any random things like that and I always ask them to see the research/article the info is coming from so I can make an informed decision.

purple have you got fanny daggers? I had them last pregnancy and it's the only way I could describe it. I saw it discussed a lot on here.

I took it all the way through last time -she said she'd remind me when I saw her at 16weeks - so will ask again then! She did mention research etc - but nothing specific

So I thought that you ladies were probably the only people who could appreciate / relate to this. Felt a lot better today so decided to do a trip to the Great Wall as I've always wanted to see it. Had lunch first and then of course the dreaded bloat and cramps started. So I'm up on the Great Wall, absolutely stunning, desperately trying to find a quiet spot to trump (a lot!) without anyone hearing. Oh the glamour of pregnancy 😳

@PolkaDotFlamingo yes it was fanny daggers!! I didn't know how to describe it but that sounds exactly it! Thanks, I'll know what to call it in future now to my DH as I couldn't work out how to describe it at all haha. Good to know others have experienced it in pregnancy.
Makes it difficult to stay sat down when they hit!

@pickledprogress - I asked my midwife about this and he said that it's fine to take Pregnacare (which includes folic acid) all the way through. The leaflet that comes with the tablets also says that it's fine to take it throughout pregnancy. I'm no expert, but the evidence that folic acid is linked to tongue tie seems very slim at present...

I'd be really interested to hear what other people's GPs / midwives are advising and what your midwife says she you ask her about it again.

All is well- my pains were non baby related by the looks of things as baby is measuring correct for dates with a strong heart beat!

11+5! 12week scan is on Tuesday which seems a bit pointless now but EPU only look for pregnancy viability rather than doing any measurements- also nuchal translucency will be done on Tuesday. It's always nice to see your baby again anyway!

Just had a McDonald's quarter pounder cooked fresh! Got home and it was cold so shoved it in the microwave for 30 seconds! Can never be too safe!

How is everyone doing?

Almost 12 weeks here and sickness is worse than ever. Hoping it'll stop soon.

We are all so close to being in 2nd trimester can't believe how quickly this is going.

NHS 12 week scan on Friday - do you get the nuchal results the same day, or are they emailed to you later?

Also have 12 week scan on Friday morning @ElleMcElle! Hoping to have the results of our Safe test (like the Harmony) by then too. Then we can tell our dcs!!!!

@ndo4000 - We have Harmony results the following Tuesday. What's the difference between Safe and Harmony?
