Oh no @Barnes79 double pain! Shingles and Appointment! Glad you'll get seen but such a long wait! I hope you have something else though xxx

savagehk · 02/05/2017 13:31

I've not actually got it downloaded / lined up yet Blush. On the to do list! I had an old style MP3 player about which I was hoping to use but can't find the thing now (wouldn't be bothered if it ended up in the pool by mistake, might object if my phone does!)

mrspage1985 · 02/05/2017 14:39

Hi all
First day of Mat leave here and instantly feel so much better having been ill the last three weeks.
Have been to have a look around the nursery baby p will go to come November, then for a leisurely swim and lunch at gym and shortly home for an afternoon nap! Baby needs to hold off a few weeks as I want to confine this relaxation for a while before baby fun starts!!!

Music wise - I have downloaded Maggie Howell hypnobirthing labour companion. The first few tracks are talking u through the hypnobirthing mentality and then the last track is just relaxation music - the type of stuff u would expect to hear in a spa!!

AP here as well although I am feeling tons of movements, get loads of swooshy movements up high where his legs are, and little flutters lower down which as baby is alteady 3/5ths engaged I am assuming it's his hands by his face! X

Badgerbird · 02/05/2017 14:53

Thanks for advice re movement during labour savage.

Barnes really hope you don't have shingles :(

That sounds hard Work Tea. Hope DH is able to support you in between Work.

Oh wow you're due tomorrow dream!! What do you think? Gonna go over much? Or think baby's on its way?

I salute you mrspage! Brilliant first day mat leave. Enjoy Smile

CoxsOrangePippin · 02/05/2017 15:21

mrspage can you link to that? I'm finding the Maggie Howell website really hard to navigate. I'm looking for tracks with relaxation scripts or music

teainbed · 02/05/2017 15:48

You're right @dreamofhungarianlanterns funny with the same due date how far apart different mums and babies can be. Enjoyed your curry! And everything else you may have planned to get labour started. Grin

Autumnsweater · 02/05/2017 16:42

@dreamofhungarianlanterns am just imagining that if your DH doesn't 'get' Leonard Cohen, labour probably isn't the place to change his mind 😂😂

Barnes that sounds so annoying. I've had shingles before it's rubbish, all you need 🙄

Autumnsweater · 02/05/2017 16:51

I accidentally had sex and a curry last night (I mean I made those decisions but didn't think about the labour implications until afterwards) 😂 😂. Nothing untoward has happened today though!

My SPD has magically disappeared over the last two days, is it possible this is related to the baby's head engaging? Have had that can send it either way. Am not complaining either way!

jennymac31 · 02/05/2017 17:12

Afternoon ladies

Hope you are all well.

Autumnsweater - your post made me chuckle because I had done the same thing yesterday and the first thing dh asked this morning was whether I thought baby might be coming soon as a result of last night's shenanigans! Baby's not due until 18the but I think dh wants him to arrive a bit early.

Had a lovely pregnancy massage this afternoon and ended up chatting to a dear old lady in the relaxation area who was recounting her labour experiences with having her kids at home rather than in the hospital. It was actually quite nice to hear how women went through pregnancy and labour in the past.

Would love to go to bed now for a quick nap but have to pick up little one from nursery.

Barnes79 · 02/05/2017 17:42

Back from the GP and he thinks it's early shingles. Thankfully it's safe for the baby and as it's caught early fingers crossed it won't last as long... I feel ok other than slightly painful skin Smile I also got the important ok on my usual hay fever medication so that's a relief 😁

mrspage1985 · 02/05/2017 17:55

Hi @CoxsOrangePippin I have no idea how to link! However here is the screen shot of what it looks like, hope that is of some help? X

MrsJW15 · 02/05/2017 17:56

Oh no Barnes. Hopefully it wont last too long. And good news on hayfever medication - I must ask MW about that.

Autumn we did the same this weekend! Not sure the curry was spicy enough though, I might try and make something stronger this week. Not sure it's made much difference so far, but both seem like a good way to get baby moving.

I went to the physio today but we just talked no massage which was a bit disappointing! She's given me a letter to give to the midwives about my PGP though and was quite helpful talking about the process of birth etc.

CoxsOrangePippin · 02/05/2017 17:58

Thanks mrspage! Are the first three scripts like 'now close your eyes and imagine a beach' or are they descriptions like 'the serious phase is when you often feel like xyz'?

savagehk · 02/05/2017 18:00

Is it here? www.natalhypnotherapy.co.uk/shop/Labour-Companion-1.html

@mrspage1985 did you buy it from the site?

ClaireSunflower · 02/05/2017 18:16

I've downloaded quite a few Hypnobirthing soundtracks on Spotify. If you just search for Hypnobirthing on there these quite a few albums with relaxation music which I like the sound of. For some reason I think anything with lyrics or someone talking in the background will just irritate me so I've gone for more white noise/relaxation type ones

mrspage1985 · 02/05/2017 18:31

First one (excitement phase) starts with the words - 'on this wonderful and special day'

Second track (serious phase) starts with the words - 'so as your labour is becoming more serious'

Third track (self doubt) starts with the words - 'no matter what has just taken place'

And then 4th track is spa music!

I bought it from iTunes, not sure about any more technical / non apple sites I'm afraid!

Hope that helps xx

@savagehk @CoxsOrangePippin ^^

mrspage1985 · 02/05/2017 18:33

@ClaireSunflower I'm the same, the talking gets on my nerves!! I will listen to the talking in advanced so I know what to do re breathing etc but at the time its spa music all the way for me! X

CoxsOrangePippin · 02/05/2017 19:03

Thank you!

StandardLampski · 02/05/2017 19:15

Hello Smile apologies for not contributing to the thread - but I have lurked from the start!
Baby boy born 2pm this afternoon - on his due date !! Am impressed already with this child's punctuality (my DD was late and I have been ever since!!)

Had a massive feed and now asleep.
About 7 pounds 10. Good luck to everyone else!!

RasperryInAMelon · 02/05/2017 19:18

@mrscrocopop it's so infuriating isn't it. Just another reason she's being issued her eviction notice tomorrow! 😋

I have just rolled over in bed and got quite a sharp pain in my left side... anyone else experience pains like that?

@Badgerbird Molly doesn't seem to react to music or being shouted at either, just the occasional poke or prod.

@Barnes79 sounds sore, hope you get sorted

@dreamofhungarianlanterns I've just downloaded an album called 'Acoustic Hits' saw it advertised on TV and liked the chilled nature of it

@Autumnsweater I might 'accidentally' do both tomorrow... 🤣 I have however oddly gone off of spicy food now...

@StandardLampski massive congratulations! Another boy 💙

ShiniBerry · 02/05/2017 20:04

Hi ladies I'd like to introduce Baby ShiniBerry! Born on 30/4/2017 weighing 4.010kg measuring 56cm. He decided to beat the induction and come out on his own in a very dramatic fashion. I'll post details on the birth story thread. We are still in hospital and will likely be here until Friday as bubs has an infection. I haven't had a chance to catch up on the posts yet but congratulations to anyone who has had their babies!

PeachIcedT · 02/05/2017 20:08

@StandardLampski and @ShiniBerry congratulations on your baby boys! There I was thinking there was a bit of a lull in births the last few days. Impressed on the punctuality standard and hope the infection clears up quickly shini 💙💙

savagehk · 02/05/2017 20:08

Congrats standard and shini!

BouncingBlueberry · 02/05/2017 20:09

@ShiniBerry what a little beauty! Best wishes to you all x x x

1004Rise · 02/05/2017 20:09

@Autumnsweater our dogs are the same, as long as you're near they're happy... been really impressed by our 10 month old Golden even if she still insists that her bed is everywhere except where it actually is! The cat made a break for freedom today but got a surprise when he came out that it wasn't where he thought it was so was easily captured again 🙄 Your earlier post made me laugh, love the accidentally part 🤣

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow but need this baby to stay put at least past the weekend so I will not be doing anything to encourage him/her!

I'm in the more swooping slow movement clan too, but it's to the same pattern that I was getting kicks before. I also have an AP but I'm not sure it's still anterior because I can feel the movements that make the front of my bump move.... it's all too confusing! I am getting random stabbing pains down there which I assume is hands near face, I just hope that his/her nails aren't too sharp!

Have we heard anymore from @Tickyboovicki I thought she was going,to be our first official May baby....

@Barnes79 shingles is officially rubbish, I guess it's just rest to try to get rid of it as soon as possible 💐 🍰

@teainbed that sounds like an epic night, well done both of you! Glad you finally got a chance to eat.

Thanks for the suggestions and links to in labour music, @savagehk @mrspage1985 I'm definitely not wanting talking or really any music that I like under "normal" circumstances, I don't want to ruin any favourites 🤔

@StandardLampski congratulations 💙💙

@ShiniBerry congratulations! Glad you're both ok after the dramatic arrival 💙💙
